IIIT Hyderabad Launches Online MS Degree in Information Technology on Coursera
The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH) is launching an online Master of Science in Information Technology (eMSIT) on Coursera. This program is the first master’s degree from an Indian university available on Coursera that incorporates industry micro-credentials, allowing students to tailor their education based on previous learning experiences.

The program offers flexible learning, allowing students to study from anywhere at any time. It is open to applicants from diverse backgrounds, requiring a four-year STEM undergraduate degree or a three-year undergraduate degree with at least one Mathematics or Computing course, plus a year of postgraduate study. The Spring 2024 cohort starts on July 22, 2024, and applications are currently being accepted.
The curriculum features hands-on projects, specialisations in data science, full stack development and machine learning, and exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. For additional support, students will also have access to experienced teaching assistants and periodic sessions from experienced industry professionals.
