JEE Main 2023 Exam: Bombay HC to hear 75% criteria plea on April 6
As per the JEE Main 2023 information handout, students who qualify for admissions via JEE Main 2023 should have secured 75 percent marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the board exams.
The plea related to changing the 75% criteria for JEE Main 2023 eligibility was mentioned before the Chief Justice of Mumbai High court today, which has been postponed to April now. The court will hear JEE Main eligibility criteria case on April 06 now.
The Bombay High Court was likely to hear a case regarding the eligibility criteria of the JEE Main 2023 Exam, which was earlier scheduled to be heard on February 21, 2023, but has now been postponed once again by the court. The petition is related to the 75% eligibility criteria for the JEE Main exam.
As per the update shared by Advocate Anubha Sahai, the PIL on JEE Main 2023 eligibility criteria will be heard on April 06.
In January this year, petitions were filed in the Bombay High Court seeking postponement of the JEE Main Session 1 Exam and also requesting to relax the eligibility criteria. While hearing the case on January 10, the Bombay High Court stated that the matter regarding the 75 percent criteria will be heard later, after Session 1 of the JEE Mains exam concludes.
As per the JEE Main 2023 information handout, students who qualify for admissions via JEE Main 2023 should have secured 75 percent marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the board exams. Aspirants have demanded to remove the 20 percentile criteria and lower the eligibility criteria to 50 percent.
The matter was listed before the Bench of Chief Justice of Bombay High Court.
