Stavropol State Medical University: Courses, Admission, Cost

Founded in 1938, Stavropol State Medical University is situated in the pearl of the South of Russia. It prides itself in the career growth of the students and is held at high regard in the country as one of the superior scientific and educational medical centres. The State Accreditation Certificate was granted to all activity spheres at Stavropol State Medical University in 2010. In 2011, the university opened new specialisations, including economics, biotechnology, defectology, biology, social work and physical training for people who have health issues. The university features in the World Directory of Medical Schools published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Stavropol State Medical University has many faculties dedicated to different fields of study, including the Faculty of Pediatrics, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Foreign Students and Faculty of additional professional education. The university educates 4,500 plus students, including foreign nationals, annually. There are seven computer classrooms, lecture rooms, laboratories, a modern library, four students' hostels, gyms, a sauna room and a swimming pool within the sports complex. With four educational buildings, an eye microsurgery clinic, a dentistry out-patient department and a borderline psychic disorders clinic, the university makes sure that the students get to experience everything.

There are 97 Doctors of Sciences as well as more than 300 Candidates of Sciences at the university. Also, there are 47 Honoured Physicians and 4 Honoured Scientists of the Russian Federation working here. Among the different faculties, there are departments dedicated to a variety of subjects like Biology, Anatomy, Histology, Hospital Surgery, Immunology, Clinical Psychology and Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases.
