SSC CHSL tier-I 2020 exam is just around the corner. The exam will be conducted in online mode at different test centres across the country from October 12-16, October 19-21 and October 26.
In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released new SSC exam day guidelines 2020. Given below are the some points with respect to important documents, dress code, exam day instructions and COVID-19 guidelines that candidates must keep in mind on the day of the paper.
SSC CHSL 2020: Important Documents and Things to Carry
Some of the important documents and things that candidates must carry at the allotted test centre include:
- Admit card: Candidates must not forget to carry the SSC CHSL admit card 2020 to the allotted test centre
- Photo: Candidates must carry two latest coloured passport-size photos to the exam centre
- ID proof: Candidates must also carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the centre. Documents that candidates can carry as ID proof are:

Note: If photo ID proof does not have date of birth then candidates must carry an additional original document (such as Class 10 certificate, date of birth certificate, etc.) having date of birth printed as on the admit card.
- Self-declaration form: Candidates must carry a printout of the self-declaration form. Candidates can download the form at the time of downloading the admit card.
- Face mask: All candidates must mandatorily carry and wear face masks
- Hand sanitizer: Candidates must carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer
- Water bottle: Candidates must carry a transparent water bottle
SSC CHSL 2020: Things Not to Carry
Things that are strictly prohibited inside the SSC CHSL exam centre 2020 are:
- Watch
- Books
- Pens
- Paper chits
- Magazines
- Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, head phones, pen/ buttonhole/ spy cameras, scanner, calculator, storage devices etc.
SSC CHSL 2020: Things to Keep in Mind Regarding Dress Code
Some of the important points that candidates must keep in mind regarding their dress code are:
- Do not wear items such as nose pins, bracelets, earrings, kadas, etc.
- Do not bring bags inside the test centre
- In case, any particular attire needs to be worn by candidates due to religion or customs, they must reach the test centre before time as the frisking will take time
SSC CHSL 2020: Important Exam Day Guidelines
Check important SSC CHSL 2020 exam day guidelines to be followed by all candidates at all times below:
- Candidates must reach the exam centre only as per the time indicated on the admit card
- Candidates will not be allowed inside the test centre after the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card
- No candidate will be allowed to leave the exam hall before the completion of the exam time
- Candidates are advised to check the exam centre venue a day in advance so that on the day of the exam they can reach the centre on time
- In case, candidates bring bags and valuable items to the test centre, they have to make their own arrangements for safe custody of the belongings
- Pen and paper will be provided inside the exam hall for rough work
- Rough sheets must be dropped by candidates at the designated box before leaving the exam hall
- Candidates must not indulge in any unfair means at the centre
- Candidates have to undergo the process of contactless Frisking through Handheld Metal Detector
- Candidates must strictly abide by the instructions given to them by invigilators or centre supervisors
- Candidates should ensure that they provide clear left thumb impression, certification statement in their running handwriting and signature on Commission’s copy of CHSL admit card taking necessary precautions against Covid-19
- PwD candidates will be given an extra time of 20 minutes in the exam for assistance of scribe
SSC CHSL 2020: COVID-19 Guidelines
Important SSC CHSL COVID-19 guidelines 2020 that candidates must abide by include:
- Separate seating arrangements will be made for candidates having symptoms such as high body temperature and cough
- Candidates must maintain a distance of six feet from other candidates
- Mapping of roll numbers and exam hall numbers will not be displayed outside the centre to avoid crowding. The information regarding seating will be given to candidates at the time of entry
- Hand sanitisers will be kept at different places inside the exam centre
- Contactless candidate verification will be conducted by flashing of admit card and valid photo ID proof at document verification desk
- Candidates can use hand gloves if they wish to
- Contact-less frisking and temperature checking will be done at the entry gate using thermos guns
- Candidates must sanitise their hands before and after filling the Commission’s copy of SSC CHSL admit card
