UGC Chairman has issued the CUET UG 2025 notification regarding the changes in exam pattern. As per the notification, subjects have been reduced, mode of examination, duration and subjects choices have been changed. CUET UG official notification 2025 will release tentatively in last week of February 2025 at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. Before the release of the information bulletin, NTA will release the CUET exam date 2025 notification anytime soon. CUET notification 2025 details CUET domain subjects, dates, exam pattern, eligibility, reservation, application form, exam centres, and results. Candidates willing to appear for CUET exam must stay updated with the NTA CUET exam date and latest notification. 

CUET is one of the biggest Undergraduate entrance examinations for admission to participating universities offering UG programs. CUET 2025 will be held in third week of May 2025. Q:   What is CUET UG exam?

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is an entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduation programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. Candidates willing to take admission to undergraduation programme in streams like Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law and Management must appear for the CUET UG exam when conducted.

The entrance examination assesses candidates at various levels: Language, domain knowledge and general aptitude. CUET UG is conducted annually in computer based mode. CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 300 universities across India.

CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 150 universities across India. The number of UG courses offered through CUET UG varies from university to university. Top central university like Delhi University offers 79 UG courses, BHU offers 18 UG courses and so forth. Q:   Is CUET exam date announced?

National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the CUET 2025 exam date anytime soon at nta.ac.in. It is expected that CUET UG 2025 exam will be held in May/June. The exam will be conducted in multiple slots each day. The number of CUET exam slots will depend upon the number of candidates registered for the exam.

CUET 2025 registrations will commence at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET for admission to UG courses of Central, State, Private or Deemed universities must fill the online application form to appear for the CUET 2025 exam. Q:   is it enough to learn from NCERT textbooks to clear CUET?

A:

Since the CUET UG 2025 syllabus is in line with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus, it can be safely assumed that the NCERT books are enough to clear CUET UG 2025 exam. Candidates must note that, CUET exam tests students' understanding of the concepts and ability to apply them in various situations. Therefore, to prepare well and get a good score, it is advised that students refer to other study materials and books designed for national level competitive entrance exams. The CUET UG syllabus is in tune with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus. The chapters and topics are similar to Class 12 syllabus. Unlike other UG entrance exams, CUET UG syllabus does not include Class 11 syllabus.

Q:   When can I apply for the CUET exam?

National Testing Agency (NTA) will commence the CUET UG 2025 registrations at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Candidates desirous of taking admission to University/college through CUET must fill the application form before the deadline. On the release of the CUET notification important dates for CUET 2025 will be announced. CUET 2025 application process will be in online mode. Candidates will be required to fill the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee in online mode only. CUET is a gateway to more tahn 250 universities across India for its UG courses.

Q:   Which are the central universities accepting CUET UG scores?

Q:   Does CUET require OBC certificate?

A:

Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect. 

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

Q:   When will CUET DU CSAS Portal open?

A:

DU CSAS portal 2024 opening date has been announced. University of Delhi launched CSAS portal 2024 on May 28, 2024. Candidates who appeared for the CUET 2024 exam can register at DU CSAS 2024 portal. Candidates will be required to enter the college and course preference and pay the DU CSAS registration 2024 fee to participate in the admission process. On the basis of the choices entered and CUET 2024 percentile, candidates will be alloted college and course. CUET 2024 result will be declared on June 30, 2024 at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.

Q:   What are the CUET admit card important dates?

A:

CUET 2025 admit card will be released in second week of May prior to the date of examination. CUET 2025 exam will be scheduled in May/June in CBT mode. Only candidates who will register for the entrance exam will be able to download the CUET admit card. NTA will release the CUET intimation slip for CBT Mode before the CUET admit card. With the help of CUET intimation slip candidates can know the exam centre details in advance to prepare for the arrival at CUET exam centre on time. CUET intimation slip does not act like CUET admit card.

Q:   Is CUET exam registration open?

A:

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2025 registration will commence in the last week of February 2025. NTA will release the CUET 2025 notification. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET registration 2025 process will commence online at cuetug-ac.ntaonline.in. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET 2025 exam must ensure that they fill out the application form online. CUET 2025 registration will end in the first week of April 2025. Further to the last date, candidates will not be able to fill out the CUET application form. No request for extension of CUET registration until the last date will be entertained.

Before filling out the application form, candidates must ensure they fulfil the prescribed CUET eligibility criteria to qualify for the entrance exam.

Q:   What is the last date for filling CUET application form?

A:

National Testing Agency will commence the CUET 2025 registration in last week of February 2025. Soon after the release of the CUET notification candidates candidates can check the important dates pertaining to CUET 2025. The last date for CUET 2025 registration is expected to be in first week of April 2025. 

Candidats will be required to fill the CUET application form within the given time frame, failing which no request for extension of the CUET registration last date will be entertained. The CUET UG counselling is conducted by the universities acepting CUET UG scores seperately. Candidates will have to apply seperately for each university to appear for the CUET UG counselling process. National Testing Agency (NTA) has no role in conduction counselling process for CUET UG admissions. The participating universities conduct CUET counselling on the basis of candidate's CUET score and college preferences. The candidates are supposed to fill the forms for college and course for seat allotment. Candidates must stay updated with the important dates for admission to participating universities.

About NTA: Conducting Body

National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET 2025 examination in multiple windows. The examination will be conducted for admission to UG programs of the participating universities across India. The role of NTA is confined to registering candidates, conducting the test, hosting answer keys, inviting challenges, finalising answer keys, preparing and declaring CUET results, and hosting scorecards. The role of NTA will end soon after the release of CUET 2025 results.

CUET: Important Instruction to Candidates

Candidates are advised to read the instructions for CUET UG exam carefully. Any candidates not obeying the guidelines will be disqualified for admission to participating universities.

CUET 2025 Exam Cities

Cities where CUET exam will be conducted will be mentioned in the CUET notification. Candidates can select two cities of their choice while filling the CUET application form 2025. NTA will allot the CUET exam centre as per the availability. CUET exam centre 2025 is expected to be spread across 171 cities in India.  

CUET 2025 Hall Ticket

Candidates will be issued the CUET admit card 2025 online. Only candidates who will pay the CUET application fee will be able to download the CUET 2025 admit card when released. Candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall without the admit card.

Candidates will be given details for contact in case of any discrepancy in the CUET admit card. The date of downloading the CUET admit card will be announced by NTA. Applicants must note that they will not be issued the CUET admit card physically.

CUET 2025 Answer Key

NTA will display the CUET 2025 provisional answer key soon after the all slots are over. Candidates will be able to check their response and answer key. Applicant will be able to challenge the CUET answer key by paying the fee of IN 200.

Only paid challenges will be considered  for verification. Challenges without justification/evidence will be rejected.

Based on the challenges received, NTA will release the CUET final answer key soon after.

CUET 2025 Results

CUET results 2025 are expected to be announced in last week of June 2025 at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Only candidates who will appear for the exam will be able to download their scorecard online. CUET result 2025 will be based on the final answer key.

The scores/result of CUET (UG) - 2023 may be utilized by other organisations as per their eligibility criteria/norms/applicable regulations/guidelines/rules

CUET Service Centres

Candidates who are not well conversant and are facing difficulties in filling the CUET application form can use the common service centre. There are more than 1.5 lacs CUET service centres across country.

Q:   What is CUET UG passing marks?

A:

There are no prescribed passing marks for CUET UG. In order to know if a candidate has passed the CUET 2025 exam or not or is eligible for admission to desired course and university, they are required to check the passing marks released by the colleges/university seperately. After the declaration of CUET result, all the colleges or universities will release the course-wise passing marks or CUET UG cutoff, which will be used for shortlisting candidates for admission to UG courses.

On the basis of the cut off released by the CUET participating universities and candidates meeting the criteria will be offered amdission to UG courses.

Q:   How many CUET exam centres can I choose?

A:

Candidates can choose upto two exam cities of their choice while filling the CUET application form. NTA will make the best efforts to allot the city of examination to the candidates in the order of preference opted by them in their CUET 2025 application form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted to the candidates. Choice of CUET 2025 centre city will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only. In case, there are very few candidates from a particular CUET exam centre city, the NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities.

Candidates will have the oppurtunity to choose the exam city while filling the CUET application form 2025. Candidates must carefully choose the exam cities. No request for change in exam centre will be entertained once the admit cards are issued.

Q:   How to calculate score using CUET answer key?

A:

Candidates will be able to calculate their probable secured scores using the CUET UG answer key. All candidates will have to compare their CUET responses to the CUET 2025 answer key. The official CUET UG marking scheme has to be followed by the candidates. The calculated total will be the probable scores secured in the exam. However, the scores will be indicative and may differ from the result.

The CUET UG City Intimation Slip and the CUET Admit Card are two important documents that candidates need to carry with them on the day of the CUET exam.
The CUET City Intimation Slip is a preliminary document that is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to inform candidates about the city where their CUET exam centre has been allotted. It contains the following information:
• Candidate's name
• Exam city
• Date of exam
• Shift of the exam
• Medium of the exam
The CUET Admit Card is the final document that is released by the NTA a few days before the exam. It contains all the information that is available on the CUET City Intimation Slip, along with the following additional information:

No, CUET syllabus is not based on CBSE syllabus as claimed by Education Ministry in Rajya Sabha on August 02, 2023. CUET UG is on of the biggest UG entrance exam carnival conducted for admission in cebtral, state, private and deemed universities.

Q:   When will NTA release CUET UG cutoff?

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release the CUET UG cutoff. Once the CUET results are declared, the socres are shared with the participating universities and role of NTA ends with the declaration of results. CUET UG 2024 cutoff will be released by the CUET participtaing universities seperatley. Candidates will be able to check the course wise and category wise cutoff.

Q:   How can I access the CUET UG cut off list?

A:

Students can access the CUET UG cut off list only after the cut offs are released by the CUET UG participating universities. The following steps should be followed to access the CUET cut off list of universities candidate is desirous to take admission in.

  • Visit the official website of the applied and participating institutes
  • On the homepage, click on the link to the current academic session CUET Cut Off
  • A new login page will open on screen. Enter the credentials and submit
  • Now, you can access the CUET UG cut off list when released

The above steps will be applicable only if instittues release the CUET UG cut offs. Otherwise, if the institutes release merit lists carrying their scores, then the minimum score would be considered as the CUET UG cut off. Universities like Delhi University does not released CUET cut off. Candidates will know the college/course allocated on the basis of the preferences filled by the candidate while filling the application form.

Q:   Is CUET UG counselling conducted in a centralised manner?

A:

No, CUET UG counselling is not conducted in a centralised manner. The counselling or the admission process is conducted separately for each institute based on their own eligibility and admission criteria. Candidates who will appear for CUET 2025 will be required to check the selection criteria and other admission details of their preferred colleges individually to be able to make the correct decision. National Testing Agency (NTA) has no role in conducting counselling process for CUET UG admissions. The participating universities conduct CUET counselling on the basis of candidate's CUET score and college preferences. Q:   Can I change the CUET exam centre allotted to me?

A:

On release of the CUET city intimation slip and CUET admit card, no request for change in exam centre will be entertained. Allotment of candidates to the Shift will be based on the options exercised and technical and administrative considerations. CUET 2025 admit cards will be issued for each shift based on the components opted by candidates. No request for change of date/shift will be entertained. Candidates will be alloted the CUET exam centre as per the preferences filled by them during the registartion process. Candidates are advised to fill the CUET application form details carefully. CUET exam is conducted in more than 200 exam centres across India.

Q:   How many rounds are conducted in CUET counselling?

A:

The frequency of CUET counselling rounds is dependent on the availability of vacant seats and differs from one university to another. Typically, CUET accepting colleges conducts three rounds of counselling, but this count can fluctuate based on the remaining vacancies after each round. CUET counseling is overseen by the NTA, and only candidates meeting the CUET cut-off criteria are deemed eligible for the examination. To be considered, candidates typically need to secure a score between 300-400 in the CUET, with a score of 500 being regarded as excellent, increasing the likelihood of admission to reputable colleges. Number of seats offered in various courses can vary across participating CUET UG universities. For instance, Delhi University provides approximately 70,000 CUET UG seats.
