My friends were studied at both National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University ( one for Bachelor degree and the other one for master degree). I have friends in both places too. I think both of them are good. But I think that NUS is better with more practical knowledge and projects. At my time, NTU was more heavy in theory and less practice compared with NUS. Note: I studied at NTU School of Computer Engineering for my Bachelor degree and NUS School of Computing.

As your brother is studying in class 12th with CS, it will be beneficial for him to study CS further, but obviously, he needs to be interested in it or even he can do another course which is not related to CS like doing B.Sc in the subject which he likes or whichever course he likes in engineering or even he can choose a different field of his interest but the bottom line is if he does what he likes it will be beneficial for him and for his family.

Hi Christeen,
Without mathematics, I doubt if you will find any computer course, Maths is required and mandatory in class 12th. You can check with the colleges for foundation courses. And also since you are from commerce background choosing a CS degree now will be difficult, it has to be relevant whatever you choose to study. You better go for commerce related courses.

IIT Bombay has a CSE cutoff of an all India general rank of 60. The other top IITs have cutoff CSE ranks in the range of 100 to 300. The newer IITs have cutoff ranks in the early 2000s. Do you realize the enormity of these numbers? You are gonna have to score more than some 2 Lacs candidates, most of whom are as determined as you are, if not better. I am not saying you can not do it, but it is quite tough. Of course, if you have the (blessing) of reservation, things become slightly easier for you.
