All Indian students planning to join a university/college/institute in Malta are advised to make necessary inquiries and consider the following before applying for admission at an institution in Malta:
(i) Please ensure that the university/college/institute has proper accreditation and recognition in Malta.
(ii) It is advisable that students directly approach the college/university/institute for admission instead of applying through agents. Students must also check all the information directly from the university/college/institute regarding the duration of the course, course fee and terms and conditions regarding their student visa.
(iii) It is also advisable that the admission fee is deposited with the university/college/institute directly after obtaining a Maltese visa. If the university/college/institute insists on a deposit of admission/tuition fees before the appropriate visa is granted, prior assurance in writing may be sought from the respective university/college/institute for a refund of fees, in case the student is unable to join the institution due to unavoidable circumstances such as refusal of long-term visa.
(iv) Students are advised to carefully check the latest travel restrictions for travel to Malta in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
(v) In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, students planning to join a university/college/institute are also advised to check that the courses they plan to get admitted to, require their physical presence in Malta and have not been shifted to online courses.
