Pretty good college, ample placement opportunities, and I loved studying here.
Tips: I recently moved to North America, and I have to say that the reality of living here is quite different from what is portrayed in movies and TV series. The winters are long, dreary, and cold, with little or no sun for days at a time. Also, taxes are quite high, and you will face some racism. On the plus side, the country is beautiful, the people are amazing, and the work-life balance is good. Ultimately, whether you like living here or not depends on what you want out of life. I was an engineer, breaking into finance, so internships were difficult. However, almost everybody in our class got an internship, so the structure does work. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Brock University helps you become champions.
Tips: First thing to know is that there are no part-time jobs, so do not come here depending on it. Also, the university campus is friendly and the staff is welcoming. Students should know about the curriculum and other factors that can affect their studies in the long term as there is no going back after spending such a hefty amount on fees and accommodation. Thus, read everything carefully before joining the university.
Likes (Safety): Security was awesome as the university security guards and the authority were available all the time. In one of the incidents, one girl was eve-teased, she called for help and one of the security guards immediately reached her and gave her the assistance she required.
Dislikes (Part time work): Unfortunately, there were no part time jobs available on campus as all the jobs were full-time and were given to the people who were not students or were available for full-time opportunities. Even the teacher assistants were also from other universities. Thus, leading to no part-time jobs.

Academically oriented university with high standards
Tips: The university makes the transition easy as it helps you understand Canadian culture. Also, the students and communities get us acquainted with the city and the town. I didn't get any scholarships. But overall it's a nice university which is academically oriented.
Likes (Safety): You can always find security on campus at any time and the city itself is a safe place. Mostly it's a white people town. And moreover, people who live here are above 40 so the crime rate is low and the standard of living is better than the other cities.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The connectivity is very bad as the bus timing is every 30 mins or more and if you miss the bus you need to wait for the next bus for a long time. University provides with bus pass so that saves you money. Otherwise the bus pass cost about $130 - $140 per month.

A good learning experience, and one would not only grow educationally but also personally
Tips: There is some cultural shift, however, the transition is good and easy. The university makes it smooth and easygoing since the students are from diverse cultures and communities, so it is the university that organises such events where we get familiarised with the culture here. There were no scholarships available for international students.
If I would score out of 10 then I am 8/10 satisfied with the university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I usually have 1 class per day which is for 3 hours and then there is a lot to do on campus. I usually go to the gym and then sit in the library to finish some books or study for the exams.
There are all kinds of events for the religious and casts, from Garba nights to Diwali, to middle eastern festivals and so on. Such events were organised quite frequently so I participated in a few.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty is always there for the help and they are ready to meet with students to solve their queries be it online or in person.
Teaching method was a mix of practical lessons via various real-life simulations and theoretical.
Faculty members belong to diverse nationalities, some are from India, Nigeria, China and so on.

Best professors from all over the world
Tips: Brock University is not just a university but also a home for many students. It provides you with the best faculty from all over the world and also gives you the opportunity with the best co-op available in Canada. Students can also opt for student exchange where a student can enjoy learning in different parts of the world and also know about various cultures and languages. Universities not only look for academic performance but also believe in providing practical knowledge to students.
Likes (Public transportation): Brock University is located a few Kms away from Niagara Falls. The location is so beautiful that once you start living there you never want to get out of it. The people there are so kind and always ready to help at any possible time. A student can find everything they need, a convenience shop, party place, grocery store, and whatnot.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty is one of the best that any university can have and there is no doubt that Brock University is blessed with the best professors. It is noted that the professors are not only from Canada but are from different parts of the world. It is very easy to communicate with the professors through student email or by scheduling a teams meeting which is easily available. Sometimes if the student wants to discuss any topic, professors are available in person as well to provide special attention.

Dalhousie University: A supportive, inclusive environment for academic and personal growth.
Tips: Students joining Dalhousie University should know it provides strong academic support, career services, and a diverse student community, though the workload can be intense. I adjusted well, experiencing a cultural shift towards independent living and self-advocacy. I haven't received a scholarship, but some are available. Overall, I'm satisfied with Dalhousie, my programme, and Canada's inclusive environment, which supports both learning and practical experience.
Likes (Safety): Dalhousie provides strong campus security and resources like the DalSafe app, which offers emergency contacts, incident reporting, and personal safety tools. Personally, Halifax also has a visible police presence, particularly in student areas, and reliable public transit that makes travelling around the city feel safe.
Dislikes (Part time work): I rated part-time work as 3 because, while there are some on-campus job opportunities at Dalhousie, competition is high, making them limited. These roles include positions in libraries, labs, and student services. Off-campus, Halifax offers options in retail, food service, and events, but students often need to look early and be proactive. Balancing part-time work with academics can be challenging, especially during busy semesters, so good time management is key. The average payout for the part-time work is between $15.20 - 16.20 per hour.

Dalhousie University is good but it still has a lot of potential to be better.
Tips: Transitioning here is quite easy and everything is well structured. Also, there is a large base of Indian students here which makes everything easier. I didn't secure any scholarship. I am enjoying my time at my university. I am satisfied with my decision to do my masters here.
Likes (Internships): Most of the seniors got their internships but still, some were not able to secure an internship position. I will not say there are a plethora of opportunities here nor are there no opportunities. We have opportunities but for them, competition is really high.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not many vegetarian options available. If you are comfortable with non-vegetarian options then it's fine. I prefer to cook at home because it is both healthy and affordable. Eating outside is quite expensive here, a simple meal will cost more than 40 Dollars.

Awesome Dalhousie Journey
Tips: There are no cultural shifts after coming here. Also, it depends on your academics to avail scholarships as you should be attaining top grades in all courses to avail them. And I am greatly satisfied with the university and country except for the harsh winter climates from December to March-April.
Likes (Public transportation): Transportation is awesome as public transportation is free when you are a student and we can have great accessibility around downtown. All parts of the city are well connected with metro buses including the airport. Also, the university has great accessibility to the downtown and there will be frequent buses and a number of stops to avail public transportation.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus Part time jobs are usually hard to get. Off campus part time jobs are relatively easy to find. MACS course is a bit exhaustive course, so you have to get your basics ready before you join the course as you have to find the right balance between part time and course exams and assignments.
The average pay at the moment would be 14-15 CAD.

University is one of the best in Canada
Tips: The education is world class and cutting edge. Very different from India and required a lot of self-studying and hard work. Be ready to put in a lot of hours and also discipline will go a long way. Make sure to learn skills rather than getting grades, it will help you a lot in the long run.
Likes (Public transportation): Cheap and safe, there is no metro or trains only transportation available are buses but it’s extensive. The buses run till late and cover most of the city. The service is really good and the buses are free for students as you pay for them in your fees.
Dislikes (Value for money): The course provides a lot of opportunities and demand is high for IT professionals in Halifax. Most of students get a job within 6 months depending on the intensity of the job search, skills and passion for the industry but the starting pay is good as compared to money spent on education.

Tough academics, average lifestyle and very expensive tuition fee
Tips: Make sure what is the tuition fees and what you require to complete the program. No scholarships for international students are given. The college has good campus area, its within city and accessible. Not a lot of on campus jobs. Some courses have 5 days classes so it can be difficult for part time work.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Not all professors are that great. Some have extensive knowledge and some do not. Subjects are not regularly taught by the same professors. Professors try different teaching approaches which sometimes create confusion.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Groceries are not available everywhere and even if they are, its very costly. Restaurants are costly for students and food is not authentic. Tiffin services are available now but still costly for students. There are some local grocery stores which imports some food from country of origin but they are costly too when compared with the minimum wage given here.
