Pretty good college, ample placement opportunities, and I loved studying here.
Tips: I recently moved to North America, and I have to say that the reality of living here is quite different from what is portrayed in movies and TV series. The winters are long, dreary, and cold, with little or no sun for days at a time. Also, taxes are quite high, and you will face some racism. On the plus side, the country is beautiful, the people are amazing, and the work-life balance is good. Ultimately, whether you like living here or not depends on what you want out of life. I was an engineer, breaking into finance, so internships were difficult. However, almost everybody in our class got an internship, so the structure does work. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Brock University helps you become champions.
Tips: First thing to know is that there are no part-time jobs, so do not come here depending on it. Also, the university campus is friendly and the staff is welcoming. Students should know about the curriculum and other factors that can affect their studies in the long term as there is no going back after spending such a hefty amount on fees and accommodation. Thus, read everything carefully before joining the university.
Likes (Safety): Security was awesome as the university security guards and the authority were available all the time. In one of the incidents, one girl was eve-teased, she called for help and one of the security guards immediately reached her and gave her the assistance she required.
Dislikes (Part time work): Unfortunately, there were no part time jobs available on campus as all the jobs were full-time and were given to the people who were not students or were available for full-time opportunities. Even the teacher assistants were also from other universities. Thus, leading to no part-time jobs.

Academically oriented university with high standards
Tips: The university makes the transition easy as it helps you understand Canadian culture. Also, the students and communities get us acquainted with the city and the town. I didn't get any scholarships. But overall it's a nice university which is academically oriented.
Likes (Safety): You can always find security on campus at any time and the city itself is a safe place. Mostly it's a white people town. And moreover, people who live here are above 40 so the crime rate is low and the standard of living is better than the other cities.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The connectivity is very bad as the bus timing is every 30 mins or more and if you miss the bus you need to wait for the next bus for a long time. University provides with bus pass so that saves you money. Otherwise the bus pass cost about $130 - $140 per month.

A good learning experience, and one would not only grow educationally but also personally
Tips: There is some cultural shift, however, the transition is good and easy. The university makes it smooth and easygoing since the students are from diverse cultures and communities, so it is the university that organises such events where we get familiarised with the culture here. There were no scholarships available for international students. If I would score out of 10 then I am 8/10 satisfied with the university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I usually have 1 class per day which is for 3 hours and then there is a lot to do on campus. I usually go to the gym and then sit in the library to finish some books or study for the exams. There are all kinds of events for the religious and casts, from Garba nights to Diwali, to middle eastern festivals and so on. Such events were organised quite frequently so I participated in a few.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty is always there for the help and they are ready to meet with students to solve their queries be it online or in person. Teaching method was a mix of practical lessons via various real-life simulations and theoretical. Faculty members belong to diverse nationalities, some are from India, Nigeria, China and so on.

Best professors from all over the world
Tips: Brock University is not just a university but also a home for many students. It provides you with the best faculty from all over the world and also gives you the opportunity with the best co-op available in Canada. Students can also opt for student exchange where a student can enjoy learning in different parts of the world and also know about various cultures and languages. Universities not only look for academic performance but also believe in providing practical knowledge to students.
Likes (Public transportation): Brock University is located a few Kms away from Niagara Falls. The location is so beautiful that once you start living there you never want to get out of it. The people there are so kind and always ready to help at any possible time. A student can find everything they need, a convenience shop, party place, grocery store, and whatnot.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty is one of the best that any university can have and there is no doubt that Brock University is blessed with the best professors. It is noted that the professors are not only from Canada but are from different parts of the world. It is very easy to communicate with the professors through student email or by scheduling a teams meeting which is easily available. Sometimes if the student wants to discuss any topic, professors are available in person as well to provide special attention.

Supportive environment and fulfilling experience.
Tips: I have transitioned after coming here. Transitioning here involved cultural shifts like adjusting to new social norms, academic structures, peer groups etc., but support from peers and faculty made it manageable. For scholarship, I would recommend exploring all the options early on so it can be easier. Overall, I am satisfied with the university, course and experience here though there are a few areas that can be improved.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors are knowledgeable and approachable. They are easily accessible through office hours and email. Teaching style blends lectures with interactive methods like group discussions, projects etc., to make learning more engaging. The faculty is diverse with professors, teaching assistants and other staff from various countries.
Dislikes (Part time work): I rated part-time work a 3 because while opportunities exist, they aren't always plentiful or perfectly suited for every student. On-campus jobs like library assistant or dining hall staff are flexible and pay around 12-20 Dollars per hour making them easier to balance with studies. Off-campus jobs like retail, tutoring etc., offer more options and can pay 12-25 Dollars per hour but might be harder to manage due to longer hours and commute. I would recommend working 15-20 hours a week to manage both studies and job.

Transitioning Smoothly: Insights from a Professional Master's Student in Vancouver
Tips: Transitioning from Mumbai to Vancouver didn't involve a huge cultural shift, the environments felt surprisingly similar, so I didn't really face any significant challenges adapting. One important note for Professional Master's students is that scholarships are not offered, so that's something to consider. The locals are laid-back and tend to keep to themselves. Professors here are approachable and always willing to clarify any doubts regarding the coursework. The program is particularly beneficial for those looking to familiarize themselves with big data tools. While it doesn't explore advanced topics in great depth, there's always the opportunity to delve into these areas on your own time. Undertaking projects is highly recommended, as they significantly boost your chances of securing a job after graduation.

Reputed and Competitive School.
Tips: You will definitely see a cultural shift after coming here, but it is good that you will meet Indian people on campus. Being Master's student, you will not get any scholarships/allowances unless your masters programme is thesis. Being a TA or RA is the only option to earn money while working on-campus. The course curriculum is tough and you have to spend a good amount of time to pass with decent grades. SFU is a reputed university in BC, but it is on the expensive side when it comes to fees. It is better to save/manage finances and not think you can earn fees while doing part-time here. Vancouver is super costly and all you get to earn through part-time will be just enough for your monthly expenses. Don't worry, Once you get your internship/co-op you will start saving really good amount.

Can be a little challenging but worth it.
Tips: Students must review the courses properly before coming and selecting the specialisation they are most serious about, and focus on networking and making connections. The Co-Op search can be overwhelming sometimes, but the university portals offer plenty of opportunities and help you to streamline your application process.
Likes (Student Life): The atmosphere is great. You will make a lot of friends. The course loads will keep you occupied. The scenic Burnaby campus looks blissful in winter and you'll get to enjoy the beauty of British Columbia right from the mountains, with several mini hikes near the campus.
Dislikes (Value for money): The course expects you to pay for the term you do your Co-Op fee, which I felt was a downside. Apart from that the fees is similar to any other equally ranked top college in the country. The infrastructure and facilities the university has to offer are great.
