Dublin City University has a strong curriculum and highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: Students should have a strong background in what they want to do after graduation. Without any experience in your chosen field, it's difficult to get a job here, especially for undergrad students. Also, students should develop some knowledge of programming, as the staff here doesn't go into enough detail before assigning assignments or dissertations. The campus is clean and has everything a student needs for their studies and activities. The teaching faculty is average, and you'll find all types of professors here. Some will be supportive, while others may not care. Overall, it's a fantastic campus that provides a variety of opportunities to help students expand their horizons.
Dislikes (Safety): I came to Ireland from another country. When I got here, I was accosted by a group of children who tried to steal my headphones. I was surprised and upset by their behaviour. I tried to reason with them, but they were intent on taking my headphones. I called the police, but they refused to do anything because the children were minors.

DCU is good and I would recommend it to others.
Tips: It's a great school in a beautiful country with wonderful people. Students should know that it is important to learn about the ranking of the university and see if you're eligible for any scholarships at the initial stage after you receive your seat. Also, keep in mind that exploring the city during your course may be limited due to budget constraints.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at DCU are both helpful and approved making the academic experience more engaging and enriching. From the very beginning, professors are super helpful and committed to ensuring that students adapt well to the new academic environment. Initially, catching up can be quite challenging especially for those familiar teaching methods compare to back home. However, as time pass by, the process becomes more adaptable and manageable with the support of the faculty. Professors at DCU encourage us to participate actively in discussions and, collaboration and inclusive teaching atmosphere. The open discussions between professors and students are particularly engaging and interesting allowing us to exchange diverse perceptive. Faculty members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, which they share enthusiastically, inspiring students to think critically and be innovative. One of the most remarkable aspects of the faculty is their openness and accessibility. Whether it is during lectures, office hours or through emails, they are always willing to assist during working hours and provide guidance on assignments and projects. Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are limited, and the competition for the available positions is fierce. Off-campus employment opportunities are somewhat better, but it can take a while to find a suitable position. Personally, I have been able to manage my part-time work and studies, but I have less time for myself. The minimum wage here is 12.5.

Dublin City University has a fun campus and the student life here is amazing.
Tips: Dublin City University (DCU) is perfect for someone looking to pursue greater heights academically and in other fields like sports. They maintain an excellent standard for themselves. So far in my time at DCU, they have offered the best college experience compared to my previous University.
Likes (Student Life): My current campus offers many facilities that my previous university didn't, such as a pharmacy, a supermarket, designed space to eat, and a proper canteen. Additionally, we're kept well-informed about various events and activities through their engaging Instagram pages.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food available here is either overpriced or lacks authenticity, leaving me disappointed. Given the high cost and poor quality, I've realized that I could easily prepare the same dishes at home. Not only would it be more affordable, but it would also taste better.

Tips: Students should be aware that student life in Ireland is very different from that in India. While life here is amazing, students must be prepared to work hard to achieve a good life after graduation. The student life here is amazing. Students and teachers are really friendly and helpful with coursework. The lectures are amazing and I love the student life here. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are part-time opportunities, but most of them are already taken and the job postings are just for name sake and there are no proper responses from anyone. Everything happens with reference here and it is a bit difficult to get into so we have to try hard.

My experience at DCU was good, but I think the university could do more to help it.
Tips: Students should know that the transition will be heard as they move away from the safety of their home. The course has mostly Indians though, as I expected more diversity there. I got a scholarship of 2000 Euros for my course fee. The college can be rated as above average after TCD and UCD here in Dublin. It is a nice university, but the faculty could have been better, as a lot of new first-time professors in this January intake were here. Nonetheless, a lot of hard work and self-study are needed.

Good experience but a bad market with limited job.
Tips: At least have 2 years of experience otherwise, get some experience and come aboard. To get a scholarship you've to be an early applicant. It is completely random. Don't be shy to talk or ask questions. No one is going to judge you. People in the college are more friendly and make you feel more comfortable.
Likes (Part time work): Yow will land any part-time job. Visit directly to the place and talk to the manager about any available vacancy. This will increase your chance of landing a job. Don't apply online for a part-time job and wait for a reply. It never going to work like that.
Dislikes (Internships): There are no internship opportunities in Ireland. Here they prefer a graduate role. It's very rare to get an internship opportunity in Ireland. Since companies prefer a graduate role over an internship. It's limited in Ireland, as the majority of businesses focus on graduate employment.

Great transportation facility to explore the city, good University with strong academics.
Tips: Students should be aware of their program's prerequisites and the registration procedure when they attend DCU. Attend the campus resources orientation and seek assistance from student services. Keep track of your assignments and due dates. Join organizations and groups to get a well-rounded experience. If you don't reside on campus, schedule your commute.
Likes (Public transportation): Direct Bus: A direct bus service that connects DCU and Palmerstown may not exist. Dublin Bus, however, has several routes that can get you there. For instance, you might have to ride the bus from DCU to the city centre, where you'll need to change to another one that goes to Palmerstown. Routes: The 25, 66, and 67 are frequently used routes in the Palmerstown region. For comprehensive route information and real-time updates, visit the Dublin Bus website.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Like if you get a job then you will have to renew your stamp to 1G and from stamp 2 which is a student visa. After that if you get a job then you can get a critical skills visa that is stamp 1 directly after living for 2 years u are eligible for stamp 4.

Easy going, friendly environment with a big campus and a huge library.
Tips: Before joining this college students should check for scholarships. The people here are friendly and the professors are fantastic to work with. The course was kind of challenging but you get guidance from professors. It's a really small country and everyone knows each other moreover most of the people are friendly.
Likes (Student Life): The student union, fun events and there are Nubar to the hill as well. There are three different campuses and if you have a DCU ID you can stroll around during free time. Glasnevin campus is huge one St. Patrick's campus is the smallest. They do have cultural events too.
Dislikes (Internships): Not really, internships are pretty tough to get. I did not find any internships related to my course and as I have a good experience I focused more on getting a full time job. But if you can try your luck on LinkedIn to find internships or apprenticeships.

My experience at Dublin City University was wonderful and memorable.
Tips: Students should have some background knowledge about the course and how the job market is for those roles. I got a scholarship of 4000 based on my previous academic scores.
I did my master's completely online as I was in the Covid batch, for which I felt the fee was a bit high. The quality of teaching is very good and I’d recommend it to anybody.
Likes (Post study jobs): I got my job based on my previous experience. However, studying at this university was also an add-on advantage to getting a job. I have worked in two companies after graduation, both sponsored visas for work.
I working in automation testing and my salary was between 35-40k during the first year.
Dislikes (Safety): I have heard from my friends who live in that area that the locality is not very safe. Teenagers bully people and steal from them. I’ve also heard the neighbourhood is very quiet and some students find it difficult to walk alone at times.
Other than that the student accommodation is safe and friendly.

Excellent, approachable, helpful and friendly faculty that motivates us to do good.
Tips: You get to learn a lot of things when you are coming as an international student. There are cultural shifts and also there are many things here that are not the same as in India but we all get adjusted to those things easily. Overall, I am really satisfied.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Very approachable and friendly. Everything theoretical things are shown practically with live examples and also industrial experiences of professors help understand problems more deeply. The helping nature of the faculty motivates us to study and the strict faculty always keeps us on our toes.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The year 2024 is not too good for the job as there are many people and very few jobs. Ireland was not ready for this much intake which has caused trouble here. Very few companies are offering sponsorship and the salary is a minimum of 35,000 Euros per year.

No attendance, good online study portal, and fair grading system.
Tips: No attendance, going to college is optional which is a big plus. Good online study portal to access all the study material. All classroom lecture recordings are uploaded by lecturers and are available by the EOD on the online study portal and there is a fair marking system for assignments.
Likes (Safety): It is a good and safe university to study. However, the surrounding areas are very unsafe to live in. I would suggest upcoming students research more about the unsafe places in Dubin and get accommodation in good areas. Teenagers are causing a big problem in Ireland mainly in a few areas of Dublin. Some mob will come hit you and may cause you severe injuries, but still, you may not get help from anybody including the government and they won't even get punished by law. So choose a good area to live in and travel by bus and with friends mostly.
Dislikes (Internships): We have to apply to companies for internships or jobs. University won't bring any companies like how it happens in India. Some companies will come to the college to advertise their companies and during that time if there are any relevant companies we can ask them and check if there are any jobs available. If yes we have to apply through their company's careers page.

DCU has a great campus with helpful professors.
Tips: I didn't get any scholarship since I applied for this college before I finished my Bachelors. Had I applied it later I would have gotten at least a 2000 Euro scholarship. I am very much satisfied with the country and the courses they provides, the university also as a whole was very good and affordable when I came here.
Likes (Safety): Everything regarding safety is very good for me in this city. The only people who look down are the other Indians in this country since many carry on with an attitude. I don't like to speak to any other Indians except my friends since whenever I approached any other Indians they were rude to me initially.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I don't have a job at the moment since I require sponsorship to stay in this country but given a chance to permanent reside in the country, I would take that chance since it has greater benefits and is very lively. In the initial days I wanted to leave the country but as the time passes you get adjusted to it.

Amazing university, amazing faculty and a huge learning opportunity.
Tips: If someone is joining a technical course, they should be well rehearsed with the technology taught in the course as mostly everything is taught through applied principles. So one should prepare beforehand as it is going to be tough to study a STEM course here.
Likes (Internships): DCU gives opportunities for internships for under graduates and also for Masters. They give opportunities to take internships in their research programs. In my course Intel comes every year, they select 10 students for a job offer and also 3000 Euros scholarship.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food is hard to get as it is expensive and if you cook yourself it will be better. It doesn't depend on the college you choose, for food, you have to learn cooking. Indian cooking material is easily available. Almost everything. For dosa lovers I would suggest bring dosa pan from India and bring cooker as well.

Tips: It is hard to get a job in my field because there are not a lot of job opportunities available. Also, there are students from different countries, so there will be some culture shock. There are no scholarships available for my course. The people are kind and welcoming, especially if you respect their culture. The elderly are friendly and open to having warm conversations. Christchurch is a quiet and peaceful place, and the people enjoy that kind of life. I feel safe on and off campus, and most of the campus is open to students so they can study whenever they want. Overall, I am satisfied with the campus, the country, and the university.
Dislikes (Internships): Unfortunately, internships are not part of the curriculum here like they are in India. This makes it challenging to gain hands-on experience, especially since most employers require knowledge of New Zealand laws and standards. In India, internships are available at any firm, but here most internships are through agencies and students have to pay for them.

I was awarded the New Zealand Excellence Award Scholarship, which covered my tuition and living expenses. The application process was straightforward which involved submitting an academic record, a statement of purpose, and reference letters and the scholarship provided a stipend of NZD 10,000. I am very satisfied with my choice of university, and I would highly recommend it to any student who is seeking a world-class education in a safe and beautiful country. It is safe, scenic, and offers a good quality of life.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at the University of Canterbury are highly knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about their areas of expertise. They are very accessible and approachable and maintain open-door policies during office hours. They are also very responsive to emails. In terms of teaching methodology, they emphasize real-world case studies and group projects, and there is a strong focus on advanced software tools. The teaching faculty is also diverse in terms of nationality.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Authentic food options from my country of origin are quite limited here. Most restaurants close by 7 or 8 pm, and there are only a few fast food restaurants like KFC and McDonalds that are open after 8 pm. Casual dining restaurants range from NZD 15 to 25 per meal, while fine dining options can go upwards of NZD 40 to 50. I prefer to cook for myself, as it's more economical and allows me to prepare meals closer to my taste preference. It's also a healthier and more fulfilling option compared to eating out regularly. However, I occasionally enjoy dining out to explore different cuisines or socialize with friends.

A challenging but fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Tips: It is very important to understand that moving to a new country can be very challenging and overwhelming. The way life works and the processes are different to what you are used to. I think it was really important for me to try and learn the way people live their lives here since you can't change their way of living, so you need to be open to adapting. However, you should never feel like you are alone. Especially if you are moving to Christchurch for University, there is a whole network of people that you can get in contact with, and there are many different clubs to join. Therefore, you mustn't be scared to go out and meet new people. Embrace the new challenges. For me, joining clubs and/or sports teams is the best way to meet new, like-minded people. Furthermore, in terms of scholarships and funding, I managed to get an international student scholarship that allowed me to live in the halls in my first year for free. There are many scholarships that you can apply for, however, you need to make sure that the scholarship applies to international students. In terms of funding, I was fortunate enough that my parents were able to give me a weekly allowance that enabled me to live my day-to-day life. However, since I am studying engineering and playing cricket, I was also able to find jobs that allowed me to make money over the summertime. As long as you work within your visa restrictions, there is a lot of opportunity to find jobs etc. The university experience has been really amazing and I have been able to learn really cool things, both within the university and through daily life. While my course is very challenging, I have learnt some amazing things and could not be more grateful to be learning high-quality, practical knowledge that can be applied in the real world. New Zealand in general is a beautiful place with amazing people and beautiful views, you cannot say too much bad about this country.
Likes (Safety): Christchurch and New Zealand in general is a very safe city and country. The people are very nice and helpful. Although there are crimes like stealing from cars, as I have experienced, it is very easy to navigate through life and I have rarely had trouble trying to fit in within the community. Especially when joining the university, I felt that everyone was extremely supportive and always looking to make new friends. Therefore, the overall UC community is amazing.
Dislikes (Value for money): New Zealand in general is an expensive place to live. And, with international student feels, it makes it extremely expensive. While I have been fortunate enough that my parents can support me through my undergraduate study, a lot of students would not have the same luxury. It seems quite unjustifiable that as an international student, you pay more than 5x the price for the same courses and resources that a local student would get. I had already been in New Zealand for 2 years before joining the university and had a good network of friends already. Therefore, I did not need support as an international student as I am sure international students need.

Tips: The enrollment process at the University of Canterbury was easy. For the initial days, it was obvious I felt cultural differences but after getting used to it, it felt like a home away from home. I was awarded a Dean's Award scholarship. I had a good academic score in my Bachelor and previous work experience helped in get the scholarship which was around 5000 NZD. I am fully satisfied with my university, course and the country - New Zealand.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in Christchurch is excellent. It is well connected to the campus, and even towns 40-50 km from Christchurch are connected with good frequency of timings. Tips: Don't think! Just come to the University of Canterbury. It's the best university. The university provides everything here. All the faculty are here to guide us from scratch. The university has different departments for students to help. The university is very active in terms of hosting events and helping students.
Likes (Indian Food): Hygiene is followed. Quality of food is delivered. Here maximum options are non-vegetarian, but I am a vegetarian. So, I don't eat much from the outside restaurants. I am an Indian and close to my accommodation. There is an Indian restaurant where I go to and enjoy my meal fortnightly. The price is not expensive because if one is earning then he/she can afford eating outside. I prefer to cook by myself and enjoy my meal.
Dislikes (Value for money): It's expensive as compared to other universities. But the fees is justified as we can see that the course offers 180 credits towards our degree, which is good. The professors are very supportive. They are always there to help and encourage us to do good. My overall experience has been the best here.

Great university and great exposure to learn and grow.
Tips: I was concerned about the transition from India to New Zealand, but it wasn't that tough. The university and students made me feel very welcome and helped me get into the system. I applied for a scholarship and secured it, which was very helpful. Students should firmly keep an eye on scholarships as they would be reflected in the mark sheet and would be helpful in future job placements.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I got permanent residency in New Zealand after completing my course and getting a job there. I love the culture and the country. It is peaceful and accepting. If you have the opportunity to settle in New Zealand, you should definitely try it.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I gave public transportation a low rating because bus service can be quite limited, especially late at night and on weekends. However, bus fares are very reasonable, and using a combination of public transportation and bicycles can make travel time faster.

Perfect blend of all the things that a student may need.
Tips: The college is very good overall. There is always a cultural shift when a student studies internationally, but after some time he/she settles. I got a scholarship of 5500$ and it was provided to me on merit basis by the university and it was called Dean's Award Scholarship. Overall, I am totally satisfied with the university and the country.
Likes (Student Life): One can take part in a lot of activities in the campus. In every week or two, there is some event happening. There is a separate committee for organizing events for students. Also, the campus is very beautiful and well planned. We can get everything that we may need.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are ample of jobs, but we require a relevant experience for them, which is difficult for an entry level international student. So as an international student, I am giving a rating of 3. If we got skills in the relevant background, then we can get jobs.

Tips: Before joining the University Of Canterbury, students should be aware of a few key things to ensure a smooth transition and a fulfilling experience. UC is known for its strong academic programs, particularly in engineering, but students from all disciplines will find a diverse range of subjects and resources to support their studies. For International students, understanding the culture of NZ, the university's academic expectations and student life are crucial. It's helpful to engage with the university's international office and join clubs and societies to build a support network. When I transitioned to UC, there was certainly a cultural shift. Coming from abroad, I experienced a change in the education system, where there is a strong focus on independent learning, critical thinking and research. Regarding scholarships UC order various opportunities for international and domestic students. I did not personally avail of a scholarship, but many students can access it based on academic merit or specific criteria. It's a good idea to check the UC scholarship database early in the application process to see what options are available. Overall I am highly satisfied with my university experience at UC.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I rated 5 on value for money because I believe the education and overall experience at the UC are worth the tuition fees. The quality of the academic programs, modern facilities and extensive student support services all contribute to making it a valuable investment. UC provides access to excellent resources such as libraries, research centres, and academic guidance, which are crucial for student success. Additionally, the diverse extracurricular opportunities, well-being initiatives and career development programs further enhance the student experience, making me feel like I am getting more than just a degree. The tuition fees for my course are justified because UC offers a high standard of teaching, with experienced lecturers and a well-designed curricular that prepares students for the professional world.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I rated 2 on food options from my country of origin because there are limited authentic restaurants that cater to the cuisines I am familiar with. While a few places offer dishes from my home country, they don't always taste the same. I personally prefer cooking for myself, as it allows me to prepare meals that are closer to what I would eat at home, and it is more budget-friendly. Cooking also gives me more control over ingredients and flavour which I enjoy.

A pretty good university with very limited opportunities due to recession.
Tips: There is quite a bit of adjustment when comparing the education system from back in India. In India, as long as we get good marks at the end of the year exams, we get a good overall mark on our report cards. However, here you have to work hard and get good grades in each and every assignment because the amount of weight they carry in your final grades is a lot.
Likes (Safety): The city is pretty safe as I haven't heard much violence against anyone. There is little racism, if any at all, against other ethnicities. There is not any bad experience in particular that I have in the city that I could share. The people here are quite friendly as well which is also good. However, from what I have heard from friends, there is a bit of exploitation done when someone is sponsoring your residence visa if they are your workplace as well. However, the owners in those cases are also mostly Indians.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many companies offer sponsor visas as far as I know. The main reason for my rating of 2 is that the current job market is not very good. The country is in recession and there is an acute shortage of jobs available in a lot of the fields. Quite a lot of the students need to move to cities or even countries to find a good job. The wages/cost of living ratio is also not great for it to be considered a good option to work.

Modern college with helpful professors and green environment.
Tips: Studies are taken seriously but professors are supportive and helpful. Students get used to their studies after seeing the competition. The country is very beautiful and the infrastructure of the college is modern. Course fee is justified nothing more. Accommodation will cost around 8 lakhs/ year roughly which I don't think is much. Prefer this country over Canada and it is worth it.
Likes (Safety): The country is very safe and people are polite and respectful. The Maori tribesmen are also very welcoming and want others to know about their culture. So far I haven't experienced any bad experiences and I don't think any of my friends have either. 10/10 for safety.
Dislikes (Internships): GoinGlobal portals is famous in student communities for getting good internships. Sometimes there are recruitment drives across campus or in Christchurch some fares are organized especially for international students. Be aware, make connections, subscribe to newsletters and definitely a good internship opportunity is seeking you!
