Tips: I got a scholarship directly from the university, which was a huge help. The professors are very nice and teach very well. They are willing to help anybody you just need to reach out to them. The university organizes many activities for students, which is great. It includes sports and activities, seminars, etc. Try to participate in them and build connections. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, college and the country.

Tips: Before you join this college, do your research on the university and the city where you'll be studying. Find out about the job opportunities, and connect with the college alumni on LinkedIn. Start applying for part-time and full-time graduate or postgraduate roles as soon as possible.
Likes (Public transportation): There is good connectivity between buses and metro throughout the city and the fares are reasonable. If you want to get somewhere faster, you can always hail a cab. If you live close to the university or city centre, you can easily walk to many places. I have never faced any issues with travelling so far.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time jobs are hard to come by because there are a lot of students from Newcastle University and Northumbria University applying for the same jobs. To get a job, you need to be smart and have good interpersonal skills. It is also a good idea to start applying for jobs as soon as you settle into your accommodation.

The university is a great value for money with such talented and knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: I came from India, and I found the cultural differences to be quite drastic. The education system here is very different from India. However, I did receive the standard 2000 scholarship from Newcastle University. I found the people here to be very chill and friendly. I would advise new students to not be afraid to ask questions, as there are always people willing to help. The professors are extremely friendly and the faculty is very good. They will motivate you to succeed in your studies.
Likes (Value for money): The professors for my modules are very good. They are friendly and provide all the necessary information if a student has doubts. The fee for my course is definitely justified because the environment of study that this university provides for us is outstanding. Our lectures are mostly in Urban Sciences, Fredrick Douglass & Herschel Building. Urban Sciences Building is 10/10, the Fredrick Douglass Building is 8/10, and the Herschel Building is 7/10. Other than that, the university ambience is quite peaceful, and the staff is very welcoming.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As a student, you don't have much time to cook for yourself. Eating outside will cost you. Because of this, you will be more inclined towards eating good food less frequently. From my experience, I still haven't found any good and affordable place to get Indian food. I have tried 'Dhabe Wale's Aloo Paratha but it wasn't that good. It cost me around 6 pounds with Lassi.

Tips: The food options are not very appetizing. Also, the cultural shift from living at home to living on campus can be difficult. However, the university provides support through the accommodation and induction programs. Also, the vice-chancellor international scholarship offers financial assistance of 4000 pounds. The faculty are very accessible and approachable. They foster a supportive learning environment through open communication. The teaching faculty is diverse. I am quite satisfied with the course at Newcastle University.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Public transportation is cheaper compared to other cities, and the campus is well connected to the city via the Tyne and Wear metro. Haymarket station is nearby and offers frequent services to the suburbs and the airport.

Likes (Safety): The campus and surrounding areas feel secure, with robust measures in place. The university provides a safe environment for students, and the city overall has a welcoming atmosphere for international students, which significantly enhances the sense of safety. Facilities provided are Emergency call stations, safe transport services, counselling and support services and much more. The city has a friendly local community that makes international students feel welcome. People are generally approachable and helpful.
Dislikes (Part time work): While part-time work opportunities are available, they can be competitive and vary in accessibility depending on the campus and location. The work experience gained is valuable, but balancing it with academics can sometimes be challenging. On-campus jobs are relatively common and include roles such as library assistants, research assistants etc. However, the availability of these roles depends on the size and resources.

Tips: Students should first know that it is going to be a huge cultural shift in terms of education and living. They have different grading styles and a lot of group projects. Even the exams are grade different than in India. Keywords and on-point are preferable rather than filling up the page. Scholarships are hard to get but very educative. They can help you financially as well if you can secure one. Scholarships are usually fewer in number so highly competitive but many international students get that if they can submit compelling essay. Overall experience was average because the UK market is competitive in terms of securing full-time jobs in your area. College does have many fair but it is tough for Masters courses when you don't have enough experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Newcastle has very good connectivity in terms of bus and metro. There would be a lot of options available all the time specifically towards the University which is right in the city centre. So for each ride, it costs you 2 pounds on the bus. But there are several cheaper ticket options available where you can take a monthly or weekly bus pass for that particular zone and can travel an infinite number of times. The secret part that not many know is that the university provides a bus pass to students for free travel. You just have to mail them and they will send you a coupon code to avail of that. It is valid throughout your university time.
Dislikes (Part time work): In the beginning, we went to many job fairs that represented us with part-time jobs in university but those were extremely competitive and applications would be in 1000's against very few openings. Part-time jobs are manageable in terms you being flexible and willing to work after classes and ready to work on weekends. Weekends are a good option to manage both expenses and your studies. The average payout right now is 11.44 GBP per hour which is quite decent for expenses every month if you can work the full 20 hours per week.

The university provides very less internship and job opportunities.
Tips: Job opportunities in this city after completing your Master's or Bachelor's from the university are fewer and you might need to consider another city for better job roles, especially in Management and consulting. Your college tenure would be eventful, hectic and engaging, hence you would never notice the Emptiness of the City. In fact, I would also say that most UK nationals consider this City to be their Post-Retirement PLAN since it's muted and almost dead, especially in the winter. So you might have to rethink if you're looking for a flashy, happening or crowded city. I never knew about the Winter Depression before moving to Newcastle but it is for real. It gets Chillier up to -12 degrees Celsius, super windy and lonely during winters, which feels like never-ending. At last, it is a research based University. It is decent for studying Masters, so I would recommend it for Post-graduation, & also Newcastle as a City can be considered for a year or two courses. Still, Bachelors from here would be worthless and a complete waste of time.
Likes (Safety): I felt safe in Newcastle upon Tyne. The local people were nice and sweet. The city is not heavily populated, which contributes to the feeling of safety. Geordies are super fun and helpful. You can actually walk down the street as late as midnight or even longer, you would never feel unsafe or comfortable.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I wouldn't want to live here since I don't like the weather here and it is mostly on the colder side which is kind of depressing in the long run. Over the UK I would definitely prefer the climate of India to live, as it feels lively, happening and eventful in India.

Tips: It was quite a good experience as it was my first time experiencing education at an international level. Newcastle upon Tyne is a beautiful and student-friendly city. Most of the students got a scholarship worth 34000. The job market in Europe including the UK is stagnant right now. You are more likely to get a job if you have relevant industrial skills along with work experience. Great work experience + skills will get you a job.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at the institution are quite helpful and possess good knowledge of their respective subjects. They are approachable and willing to assist students in resolving their doubts or queries that may arise. In the end, what matters most is how focused you are towards your goals.
Dislikes (Internships): The Master's programme is of 1 year duration so it is quite difficult to get an internship. Also, the Student Visa allows you to work for 20 hours/ week. You can work more during term time but it is hardly 1 month. So, getting an internship is a struggle.

Tips: Newcastle is best for M.Sc in microelectronics. The university provides lots of support and exercises for the job interviews. The teaching quality is so good and you will feel like you are studying exactly what you want. Few subjects only have assignments while some have exams.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculties are very nice and teaching is so good. Professors help us with every thing and they try to answer all our questions. One can ask professors to join research assistant position. One can also approach them for publication and PhD opportunity. They also provide recorded classes.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships in microelectronics course are very less. Internship depends on the course that one chooses. This is as per my knowledge. Internships are difficult to find. If one gets an internship then it becomes a heavy load to manage. The university provides career services wherein one can find jobs and internships.

Tips: The city has a great vibe and is very friendly. The Newcastle United Football Club has the best supporters in the world, and their passion is great to watch. I loved the city, the university, and the people, and I know I will miss them all when I graduate.
Likes (Indian Food): Newcastle has a lot to offer, including great food at affordable prices. There are many Indian, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese restaurants within walking distance of campus. There's also a small Chinatown.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of getting sponsorship for a post-study visa are very rare. This is true for all of the UK. However, if you are only planning to live in the country for a short time, it is not a bad option. Skilled workers have better chances of getting sponsorship.

The minimum payout is 10.42 for those who are above the age of 21. Overall, I'm satisfied with my university in every aspect.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Well-experienced faculty members from all over the world. They were easily accessible and ready to help at any time. Classes were conducted in seminar halls with a video recording option, so we can access them at any time after that throughout our lifetime.

The best experience for a student.
Tips: There definitely was a cultural shift for me. But nothing most people can't handle. It took me a while to learn certain things that India didn't teach us. I got a commonwealth scholarship of 2000 pounds. About the university, the infrastructure and technology blew my mind. It is the perfect place to study.
Likes (Safety): Birmingham is a very safe city. Even through the night it is mostly alive. One thing to keep in mind is to avoid the canals. In the year and a half that I lived there, I did not have any bad experience. As long as we don't go out of line, I'd say we will have no trouble.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): They have no placement drives like the ones we have in India. We have to look for jobs ourselves. Given that the UK is in a recession, it is very difficult to find jobs in the country. They prefer hiring a fresher who is from the UK or EU rather than someone for whom they would have to sponsor a visa.

Tips: There are many cultural shifts once you arrive here in the UK. Coming here is one thing and starting living and sustaining here is another thing, From managing studies, and exam pressure to financial hurdles, and homesickness an individual has their journey uniquely. In the UK, people tend to be more individuals and have fewer family links and social organisations. India's culture is more closer and conservative than Britain's. No, I did not avail of any scholarships, though advised to apply for them as quickly as possible. I am quite satisfied with the university, programme and country. We just need to stay focused and keep working hard until we find some good full-time opportunity.
Likes (Student Life): A typical day starts early in the morning, getting ready for either a lecture to attend or a sports session such as swimming, badminton, basketball, gym or tennis etc. Then after coming back, prepare food for lunch and evening, then study and go to sleep after some fun time with friends. The most enjoyable thing that I used to do in my college life was going to play sports and get myself involved in activities such as fitness and sports. There are diverse events organised by various societies under the Guild of Students, ranging from cultural fests to simple events on going on campus or student accommodation. I used to participate as maximum as possible if I had spare time to socialize and have fun in those events. Student clubs are there for all types of interests, academic programs, backgrounds, nationalities, religious beliefs, etc. Such as business societies, photography, gaming, Hindu, Islamic, and Sikh societies, International Students Club, volunteering and UNICEF communities, dance clubs, etc.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The only opportunities for students available on campus are Career Fair, where recruiters and companies visit campus and interact with the students directly. Very few sponsor visas, for the rest, students have to take up graduate visa route on their own. Most of the roles are for freshers such as graduate scheme roles, graduate management or trainee, financial auditor, etc. The starting average annual salary is 30,000 pounds.

Tips: I have grown as a person, become more independent, and more mature since entering university. There were some cultural shocks and differences, but mostly how kind and accepting most people were. That feels like the norm now. Likes (Safety): I have a very active social life at the University of Birmingham. I spend my time studying, attending class, and working out at the gym. If I have any energy left, I like to go out with friends. There are many social events on campus that I can attend. Tips: As for the University of Birmingham, it is a great university that prepares you well for the world where you are no longer a kid who only has to worry about grades. Coming here has taught me to be independent financially and mentally. The campus is very diverse which lets me immerse in different cultural experiences. The student union is always there to support you from safety to mental well-being. The University also celebrates every cultural festival from Diwali to Ramadan, which never gives you the feeling of a home away from home. I did secure an academic scholarship for my course which is funded by the university themselves. Although the cost of living is quite high at the moment. But other than that, this is an amazing opportunity for me where I get to do a course I love at an exceptional Russel group university at the heart of Birmingham that offers all the support and advice.
Likes (Internships): The University has a huge careers network, with each college having its own. They provide excellent one-to-one advice on getting work experience, internships, volunteering, full-time jobs, etc. They also provide several other services like mock interviews that prepare you for the real challenge in the application process. For students with zero or very limited experience, the University offers a programme called B-Experienced, through which internships provided by companies offer special spots for students from the University of Birmingham. Hence when it comes to work experience and career in general, the University of Birmingham is a great choice.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The current UK government has tightened immigration policies, which might make permanent immigration options a bit harder. Also, if you secure a good job in a company that is ready to sponsor you, then that's great. However, most postgraduate students struggle with this aspect.

University of Birmingham does not provide any internship for international students.
Tips: It is always better to connect with multiple people and faculty members to know what's going on near you and what opportunities exist for the future. I also think joining societies is a great option to keep the stream off while enjoying your university experience. Public transportation in Birmingham is good. It connects the whole city and buses are frequent. However, buses may be delayed due to various reasons, which can be a problem for students commuting to lectures or work during peak hours. I suggest checking the routes and buses beforehand so that you know the average commute time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I was an international student at the University of Birmingham. I found that there were no jobs at all for international students. I faced extreme competition in finding jobs, and the university didn't provide any guidance or help with these issues. This made the situation worse than it might have been otherwise.

University of Birmingham has a beautiful and huge campus.
Tips: The campus is beautiful and there are a lot of activities to do, so you won't feel bored during your initial couple of weeks. After that you get busy with assignments and academics, so you'll spend most of the time going back and forth from the lectures to your accommodation, and part-time work. Like in India, there's not much pressure on studies, which can either be a good or a bad thing. I'm happy with the fact that the university is well-recognised and gives students career guidance. The current job market is tough in the UK to get a job, so only time will tell whether it's worth it or not.
Likes (Safety): Safety can be a matter of different experiences for different people. I never had safety concerns even when walking down the street late at night. Of course, you need to be a bit cautious of your surroundings. The campus does provide an app, and some safety gadgets during the welcome week, as well as a free bus to Sell Oak to travel when it gets dark during winter.
Dislikes (Public transportation): You can travel by train or bus. Buses are usually more connected than trains but are generally late, and it doesn't matter if you check the scheduled time on Google Maps or bus stop, they will make you wait for 15-20 minutes 90% of the time. I also don't think public transport is very affordable. It's 2 pounds for a ticket whether you want to get off at the Next bus stop or after the 15 bus stop. A monthly bus pass is now 49 pounds for students, but they keep increasing the price every year. Last year it was 46 pounds.

It is a fun place if you know how to live up to it.
Tips: It was not much of a transition apart from the weather and the teaching style. I did not avail of any scholarship. However I have question myself several times as to why I chose this course. The lecturers could have a better way to teach than the way they did. There are on-campus events held for students to interact and build connections. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the university and country.

An amazing experience that needs a closure.
Tips: Students should be open to everything the university has to offer. Embrace the life that comes along with it. It's simple but effective in the long run, and you won't regret it later on. Of course, there will always be things you couldn't be a part of, but that's okay. Cherish the rest of your time there, and you'll look back and cherish it all for sure. I'm pretty satisfied with my time at University College Dublin.
Likes (Part time work): They've got a pretty good system for roles within the university and I'm a recipient of them. If going through the right channel and succeed in your interviews/assessment centres, the opportunities within the university are crazy for part-time. It is quite manageable with your coursework given the fact that you have good time management skills. The average payout is 12/hour.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It's pretty fragile and extremely difficult to obtain sponsorship after the course commences and the Graduate visa is granted. I wouldn't likely want to permanently immigrate here as I've got other preference in life and this country doesn't fulfil them all.

Navigating growth, challenges, and opportunity in university life.
Tips: Before starting university, make sure you're comfortable with basic household tasks like cooking and cleaning. Students spend a lot of time studying, and learning these skills ahead of time can save you considerable time and help you keep up with the assignments, attend classes, and still enjoy university life. Birmingham is a fantastic city with access to nearly everything you might need, from Indian utensils and spices to food and there's almost nothing you won't find. However, if your mood is affected by the weather, be prepared for long stretches of gray, rainy days, with little sunlight for 6-7 months. The climate can be challenging, so building emotional resilience is helpful as well.
Likes (Public transportation): Buses are very frequent and you can get a bus in 5-10 minutes. The university has also its own bus service which is run for specific routes every day. The university has an integrity rail on the campus which also connects to the major and minor stations of the city.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): All the big 4 and MBB companies visited the university for the job fairs and offered internships and advice for the proper route for full-time jobs and with several on-campus activities to polish your soft and hard skills. The starting salary of a Business analyst with no or little experience at all is 338500 to 346000.

Tips: Living in the first year with flatmates of many backgrounds was interesting however there was not a huge cultural shift. There is a requirement to stay social which can be achieved by joining clubs and societies- sports are highly appreciated. The University Campus is a mixture of historical and modern, almost a reflection of the country. There is a large level of diversity with people from all walks of life. Especially in the course lectures where almost everyone comes from somewhere different.
Likes (Internships): The internship process has been made very simple here at the University. There have been resources provided such as for writing the CV or preparing for an interview. The status of the University is also strong enough that it creates a small advantage over some of the other applicants.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I am still studying at the University and therefore do not have a strong idea as to how helpful they are in assisting for long-term jobs. However, they do provide resources that can aid in CV writing and interview practice which will help when applying for such jobs.

It was a good experience with great faculty.
Tips: There was definitely a cultural shift. The people, food, and traditions are definitely different here and it will take some time to get used to all the changes but it is manageable. It can be overwhelming at times. For data science, since it's a demanding course they do not provide any kind of scholarship so that's a sad thing.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a crazy amount of restaurants and cuisines for all kinds of people and cultures. The prices are alright but some of the restaurants do offer students discounts so that is a good thing. The food is good and you basically have millions of options to choose from.
Dislikes (Value for money): I really liked the campus and the facilities were good. I would recommend trying to get a job at the university as it is definitely beneficial. The university shares a lot of resources so there is no need to invest in any kind of personal resources. There are lots of career fairs and opportunities but it's difficult for international students to get a decent full-time job.

My Great College Experience.
Tips: I got the opportunity to connect with a lot of students and made some great friends. I also had the opportunity to do an internship and gain some valuable experience in the UK market. The university has a lot of cultural societies that put on a variety of events, so there's always something to do. The university also offers scholarships for international students, which is a big help. I stood for the selection in my university and won that with a good number of votes and currently, I am working with the University as an Activities and Employability Officer. I'm very happy with my university experience and would highly recommend it to anyone considering studying abroad.
Likes (Internships): The University of Birmingham provides a lot of guidance and opportunities for students. The university has partnered with many startup companies to offer internships. These internships are called B-Experienced Internships, and they offer a variety of roles to appeal to a wide range of students. The internships last for 20 days, which students can complete in two to three months while they are studying. Students who complete these internships can earn up to 1600 Pounds.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The University of Birmingham has lots of career fairs for specific fields and also some of them provide visa-sponsored jobs. The university also provides some visa sponsor jobs to international students. There are various job roles like Business Development Manager, Communication and Marketing roles and supply chain management roles and students expect their starting package from 24000 to 35000 Pounds.
