MBBS - Batch of 2026
2.5
The coursework is challenging, and some classes are harder than others. It's tough to pass in exams.
Tips: It is really hard to adjust to the cold climate here, especially during the winter. Getting up early in the morning and going to college is very difficult. Also, half of the students in our university fail their first and second years. On the positive side, life is good and easygoing once you get past the first two years. Just make sure you study for your classes. Also, international students don't get scholarships here, but you can get one from your state back home. Lastly, the hospitals are far apart, so you'll have to travel a lot. You'll also have to cook your own food and do your own laundry and cleaning. Overall, it has been a good experience.
Likes (Part time work): You will have free time to work during holidays and during winter. The pay is good and it is hourly basis, the cost of living is not too expensive, and the people are friendly and willing to help you. You can also work during weekends.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is no Indian food or canteen available, and no mess hall. Indian restaurants are very expensive and can't be a daily choice. Cooking every day while attending classes is impossible. Indian food is not available, so if you don't like Russian food, you won't survive. You can't eat out every day, so make sure you know how to cook. Also, you can't find your country's spices, so bring them with you.

High ranked university with best faculty. Best hostel campus with best facilities.
Tips: The people of Kazan are very good and helpful in every way. The city has good transportation, including metro, bus, and tram service. However, you will need to learn some Russian as most people in the markets and local areas speak Russian. Also, be prepared to do some of your own cooking as you will not find many places that serve Indian food. I am very satisfied with my university and the beautiful city of Kazan.
Likes (Indian Food): In the city, all types of cuisine are available, including Indian, Italian, Russian, American, and European. We mostly do self-cooking, as we are provided with good kitchen facilities in our hostel. We can get all the groceries we need easily around our campus and at good prices.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are mostly food/grocery deliveries part-time in the Yandex market and students can work part-time in a pizza outlet / Burger King / KFC in their free time and during vacation time. Mostly we don't feel the burden of studying during our semester and we can manage the time easily for study and work.

The university has well balanced schedule for classes and interactive sessions.
Tips: Students should be aware that they are choosing to enter the medical field, and that a lot of hard work is required to earn the trust of patients. Medical professionals are often the last hope for patients in difficult situations. The student life was well-balanced, with a good mix of extracurricular activities, sports, and academics. I was able to enjoy my personal life while studying, and I also got a lot of practical experience in the hospital for a few months. The faculty are approachable and will guide you throughout the sessions. The city is beautiful and safe. The people are very friendly, fun-loving and easygoing and treat us with the kindest gestures. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, university and the country.

The college provides us with great facilities and several activities to interact with our alumni.
Tips: It is a good college for anyone who wants to learn. There is a cultural shift here in buying items, learning, and basic manners. Also, it is important to call each other respectfully. There is a scholarship for 1500 dollars. This country is very safe, and there are no conductors on buses. You just tap your card and go. The people are generally friendly, and they are very helpful to foreign students. I am satisfied with the university.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I do the self-cooking, and all the ingredients needed to cook vegetarian food are either in short supply or expensive. So, I mostly eat pasta or noodles. This city and country have their own culture of mostly eating non-vegetarian food, so if you are a vegetarian, you should be aware of this.

The schedule at Izhevsk State Medical Academy is hectic and difficult to manage.
Tips: The schedule at Izhevsk State Medical Academy is hectic. Classes are all day, and then there are lots of homework assignments to complete. They don't teach you anything in class and they expect you to learn on your own. And then there's a test in every class. There's no mess hall, so watch out for agents who say there is one and try to collect mess money. Cooking, managing academics, and self-learning are difficult, especially in bad weather. But once you get used to it, it's not so bad.
Likes (Safety): I felt safe walking around town at night, but the police sometimes stopped me to check my documents. They are friendly, but it's a good idea to always carry a picture of your passport and residential address on your phone.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The canteen serves only tasteless Russian food. There are very few vegetarian options, and the non-vegetarian food is not tasty. Given the large number of Indian and Pakistani students, the university should provide better food options.

The college is not so good. Additional subjects makes it difficult to focus.
Tips: The schedule at this university is very hectic, and there's unnecessary pressure from useless subjects. The McQueen exams are unfair because students who get answers from their sources pass, while students who really study get lower marks or even fail, which is disappointing.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe in this city. I've never had any bad experiences. The people are friendly, and the police patrol the streets at night, which is a good thing. The stores are open 24/7, and there are many stores close to the hostel near the university, so you don't have to worry about groceries.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I would prefer cooking by myself as the mess facility here is not so good and they only provide breakfast and dinner, no lunch. Veg food is a big issue in this city as there are no Indian restaurants and no vegetarian food available.
