MBBS - Batch of 2029

Kazan State Medical University is affordable, diverse, and focused on quality education.
Tips: Students should research programs, costs, and Russian basics before joining Kazan universities. Transitioning involves adapting to the language, climate, and culture. Scholarships like the Russian Government Scholarship cover tuition and allowances. Kazan offers quality education, affordability, and cultural diversity. As a foreign student, I don't have good exposure to internships. However, we do have clinical classes. Unfortunately, there is a communication gap because the patients speak Russian. If you know Russian, you can get good exposure here in Russia.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe as a foreign student at Kazan. It has a multicultural environment and a student-friendly atmosphere. However, petty theft can occur, so I keep my valuables secure. I use licensed taxis like Yandex and avoid unit areas at night. I carry my ID, know the local laws, and rely on university resources for support. I stay cautious but confident.

Affordable university with great standard of quality education.
Tips: The study atmosphere is very good, and the teachers are very understanding. They are easy to reach out to and will also help us in doing our assignments. The college has a very high standard of hygiene. In addition, there is no ragging of international students. Finally, the college has a very affordable price for daily necessities. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the experience and I would recommend this college.

The college provides a great student life for students but the country is quite expensive.
Tips: Before joining this college, students need to prepare for winter by bringing jackets and boots. They also need to bring a white doctor's apron. Since most students cook for themselves, they should bring masala. Students should also bring over-the-counter medicine for common illnesses, as medicine is expensive in this area. There are many teachers for a single subject, and they teach practically. Our university has notes of its own, and they teach in English and Russian. The Russian language teacher takes students to museums, parks, and zoos each week. There are separate buildings for anatomy, biochemistry, and all other faculties. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course, university and the country.

The university provides a great learning opportunity for students and hosts several events as well.
Tips: The campus is well-connected with transportation. We can take a bus, tram, trolley bus, or taxi to get to our destination. There is also a metro in the city. It's affordable, as it only costs 43 rubles to get anywhere. I have become more responsible. In the hostel, we are all Indians staying together, so it's not a problem. The faculty is very good, and they help us a lot. Each year, we have a 15% increase in the number of students. If you study well, you will be successful. I am totally satisfied with my choice of university and course. Kazan is a fabulous city.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are few options for food outside and the options available are a bit expensive. However, there are online platforms where you can order Indian food. I prefer cooking myself as it is cheaper and allows me to cook according to my taste buds.

A different world with a good student life and with new responsibilities.
Tips: The college is very good. It has very good faculty and a well-balanced curriculum that includes academics, sports, and cultural activities. The only problem is that it takes six years to complete the program. The internships here have very good exposure because the hospital is in the city centre and everyone comes to it. This allows us to see many kinds of patients, which will make us good doctors. However, there is a language barrier, so start learning Russian as soon as possible. The food at this university is very bland, so if you are an Indian student, you should bring your own spices and utensils so that you can cook your own food. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences snd the country.

The university is wonderful and it has the best campus, facilities and faculty.
Tips: Before joining, students should know about hostel life, food, and other expenses. Students should bring their own spices, as spicy food is not widely eaten in Russia. Students can earn money while studying by doing various part-time jobs. The people in Russia are very friendly and helpful.
Likes (Safety): The city is very safe. I could go anywhere at any time, and even the nightlife felt safe. There were police officers everywhere, and they would check our visas and passports if necessary. If we needed help, we could contact them at any time.
Dislikes (Internships): The college is the best. It provides the highest quality education to its students. The college also encourages opportunities for student betterment. The seniors are very helpful and provide us with proper notes. The staff at the college is the best, and the services provided by the college are very good.

Kazan State Medical University, Russia: Leading medical education with global standards.
Tips: I had a smooth transition to this college, but it took some effort to adapt to the multicultural environment. The faculty in my department is highly approachable and accessible, always ready to assist students with academic and personal concerns. Their teaching methodology emphasizes practical applications, case-based learning, and interactive discussions, which make concepts easier to understand. Additionally, the faculty includes professionals from diverse nationalities, bringing a global perspective to the classroom. College life is vibrant, with a mix of academics and extracurricular activities. I enjoy spending my day engaging in lectures, group discussions, and participating in campus events like cultural festivals, seminars, and sports competitions. Our campus offers various student clubs, including music, debate, and volunteer groups, encouraging students to explore their interests and build connections. Scholarships are available for deserving students based on merit and need, and I received one with an allowance covering tuition and living expenses. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the university, the course curriculum, and the supportive environment.

The university is good but it is very tough to get a scholarship.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that there is a bit of a cultural shift. The rules are a bit stricter than in India. Scholarships are available, and I have received them. To qualify, you need to score above 80% in every subject. If you score above 90% in every subject, you will receive a 15% scholarship. Overall, I am satisfied with the college.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system has lots of options, including metro, tram, bus, electric bus, and cabs. The frequency of the transport is every 10 minutes, and it is comfortable to travel across the city. The only downside is that it is a bit expensive.
Dislikes (Internships): There is less clinical exposure at this university because the hospital is very clean and patients with infectious diseases rarely visit. However, there are a decent number of patients in other departments. Another reason for the low clinical exposure is the language barrier.

A fun and loving experience
Tips: Be prepared for the cold weather. For the FMGE exams start preparing in your 4th year. It takes one extra year in Russia to graduate in MBBS. The expenses each month can be up to 20,000 rubles minimum. Also the recent war has increased the prices of day to day items .
Likes (Student Life): Great environment and facilities. Very safe and friendly. You will have great experiences. Its basically everything that you can expect of a modern city. It has great facilities, good transport system and decent people. The lifestyle is great and comfortable.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It depends on the person, if you learn the language well and are ready to serve for lower pay grades then its good for permanent immigration. Also the expenses can increase over time and the cold weather can be bothersome sometimes. The faculty during the last year is kind of strict and you will need to focus more .

My experience in Kazan state medical university was good.
Tips: If you are ready to overcome your fear of leaving home for studies then it will be worth it. Also, stay away from fraud consultancies as they would charge you a handsome amount of money and won't help you after. Many students have to face this issue, so be careful.
Likes (Internships): Internship in kazan state medical university is best in Russia as after completing the MBBS course, students always worry about their internships. So, here you would find yourself at ease to complete your internship. And teachers help international students in every way possible.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no Indian food options over here and mostly non veg food is available everywhere. Those who choose to be vegetarian, have to reconsider their choices because no vegetarian food is available in this country. People generally cook for themselves.

The university has one of the best educations in the country, but weather can be a bit challenging.
Tips: The university provides one of the best educations in the country. They have scholarships available for students who excel academically each year. The University also provides opportunities for students who are interested in cultural and sports activities. The security on campus and in the college hostel is great. When we are off campus, it is our own responsibility to take care of ourselves. In comparison to many other countries, where violence against students and others is very common, Russia is far better. I have never felt unsafe in this country, and I have never been a victim of violence. The overall university experience is remarkable.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I would not choose to live in Russia permanently because the winters are very harsh and difficult to survive. I prefer a tropical climate, and the weather in Russia is too cold for me to even want to go outside. The average temperature in Russia during the winter months is well below freezing, and the wind chill can make it feel even colder. There is also the added danger of frostbite, and hypothermia is a real possibility if you are not properly dressed. If you are considering living in Russia, make sure that you are prepared for the severe weather conditions.

Kazan State Medical University is a good university with an affordable fee and strong curriculum.
Tips: Moving to a new country for college can be difficult for some students. The weather and culture can differ from what they are used to. Also, very few people speak English, so language can be an issue. The winters are freezing. The faculty at this university are great. They are very helpful and teach quite well. There can be a language issue in the beginning, but you can learn Russian as it is necessary for day-to-day life and also helps with various future activities and internships. So, learning Russian is a necessity.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food options are quite limited, especially for vegetarians. There are very few options for Indian food here, as most of the food is Western vegetarian. If you are a non-vegetarian, there are lots of options, especially chicken. If you can cook your own food, it is quite easy to survive here.

The college is in the center of the city and it is a state government oriented university.
Tips: If you're planning on studying at Kazan State Medical University, you should know that the curriculum is just as rigorous as it is in India. You'll have the same amount of coursework, exams, and modules. You'll also have to learn a new language, which can be challenging. The crime rate is low, even at night. The strict rules and laws in place make people feel safe. Also, the low unemployment rate means that there are fewer beggars and thieves. Finally, the strict rules and policies in place help to prevent fraud and scams.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I gave a low rating for Permanent Immigration because of the language barrier, lower salaries for doctors, and less respect for doctors compared to India. Also, some racism may make you think twice about immigrating.

Kazan State Medical University is academically oriented and has excellent curriculum.
Tips: I experienced a slight culture shock when I first arrived at Kazan State Medical University, but I quickly adapted to the city, the culture, and the people. The university excels in knowledge, has good teachers who speak English and provides a healthy environment. Kazan is a beautiful city that offers a good lifestyle. Russia is a safe and developed country. I was admitted to the university through a contractor. The admission criteria were that I had to qualify for Neet UG and have a score of 60 or above in English, Biology, and Chemistry. Overall, I am satisfied with the coun try, university and the course.
Likes (Part time work): I had enough time to do part-time work while I was a student at Kazan State Medical University. The pay was good, and I was able to cover my university fees with my part-time earnings. The average daily payout ranged from 500 to 3000 rubles, depending on the job.
Dislikes (Internships): If you know Russian well, then internships are great for practising medicine. However, if you don't know Russian, it can be difficult to practice. Medical internships are available for fifth- and sixth-year students who know Russian well. Applying for an internship is easy because everything is available online.

Kazan State Medical University is hectic and disciplined schedule.
Tips: The transition after coming here was easy. We felt cold only outside the house, inside the house it's always hot, so there's no problem with such cold conditions. Regarding scholarships, we can get them every year, like 15,10, and 5% of the total year's fees. The faculty are very good at explaining things and are always willing to answer questions. The case discussions are one of the best parts of the classes. The teachers also discuss the patient's complaints and work with the doctor on the patient. We get a lot of hands-on experience, including injecting, patient care, and exposure to the hospital. In addition, some specialists teach specific subjects.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food is expensive, and there are fewer vegetable options. Also, the Indian restaurants are expensive. However, there are some good vegetarian options, such as "swarma."

Enriching medical experience and it is best to know a little bit of Russian for clinical practice.
Tips: Before joining Kazan State Medical University, students should know that it offers a rigorous academic programme with a strong focus on both theoretical and practical learning. Basic Russian proficiency is helpful for daily life and clinical practice, and the multicultural environment requires adaptability. Transitioning here involved adjusting to a new culture, climate, and social norms, but the diverse and supportive community made it easier. While I haven't availed of scholarships, KSMU does offer opportunities for academic excellence, and students should inquire during admissions. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with my university, the MBBS course, and the experience of studying in Russia, which has been enriching and transformative.
Likes (Part time work): I rated Student Life at Kazan State Medical University a 5 because of its vibrant environment. My day includes lectures, study sessions, and participating in cultural or social activities. I enjoy the strong sense of community and balance between academics and extracurricular. The university hosts cultural festivals, sports events, and workshops, which I actively join, especially for musical performances. Additionally, student clubs and communities provide great opportunities for personal growth and making connections.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The faculty at Kazan State Medical University is highly qualified, approachable, and supportive, fostering a positive learning environment. They use a unique blend of traditional lectures, modern technology, and hands-on clinical practice, including case-based learning and early patient exposure. The diverse faculty, with members from various nationalities, brings global perspectives and enriches the academic experience.

The college has a great learning atmosphere and there are many on campus events as well.
Tips: Our university is the best option for students seeking an MBBS degree abroad. However, before you enroll, you should be aware that you will need to do a lot of studying, as MBBS is a vast field with a lot of study material. My experience at the university has been awesome so far. I like the teaching style, and the university campus provides an excellent study environment. The city itself is awesome, with many options for enjoying life while studying. Students' lives should be balanced between studies and fun, and if we can manage both aspects, we will complete our studies without any pressure or depression.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The teachers at Kazan State Medical University are well-qualified and have unique teaching styles. They are friendly and willing to answer our questions. The best part is that there are only 18 students in a group, so we get a lot of attention individually.

The college is strict and it requires hard work and determination to become a doctor.
Tips: The course will be difficult, so be prepared for a hard life. Modules of two or three subjects will be presented every other week, and they are not a joke. The faculty at Kazan State Medical University are excellent teachers who are dedicated to their students. They won't pass you unless you prove your worth, and the minimum passing grade is 70, so it can be a bit challenging. You will need to study to pass no matter what, and there will be several presentations and assignments due almost every week. That's it.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I cook for myself because being a vegetarian is difficult here. There are a few restaurants that serve vegetarian food, but they are far. There are no international restaurants, but Russian restaurants provide the same service with different names.

It is a very good university. The faculty are knowledgeable and teach us in English.
Tips: Accommodation facilities are very limited. On the plus side, the environment is very conducive to learning, and students have the freedom to link their studies with other co-curricular activities. However, sports facilities are very limited, and cricket is not one of them.
Likes (Safety): There are numerous activities available, both on and off campus, to keep you engaged and entertained. Although Kazan is a relatively small city, it has a lot to offer, especially if you are an active person. All in all, it's a very good city to live in.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Most of the teachers are graduates of the university, so they can share their own experiences on how to get through a particular subject. They are very knowledgeable and always willing to help students learn. While the main language of instruction is Russian, the faculty also speaks English, so there is no language barrier for Indian students.

Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The teachers are very helpful, friendly, and kind. Good option for MBBS abroad.
Tips: Smolensk State Medical University is a pretty serious college to study, so I had to get serious and put in some serious study time. If you're thinking about applying here, do not slack off, or you might not graduate. The teachers are okay, but you have to be prepared to put in time and do your own research. Self-study is a must to have a clear understanding of the concepts. Besides, it is very cold in winter. The classes start at 8 a.m. and we can easily use the public transportation. Smolensk State Medical University has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Firstly, check how the university was, how the campus or campus area was, whether it was habitable or not, and also look at the university's results. There's no part-time work available to students because the university wants us to focus on our studies. The university says that we don't need part-time work, as there are lots of parts to our study plans. A lot of the students disagree with this policy, but it does help us to concentrate on school. Public transportation here is good with routes to every stop and so many buses. There are also private buses that work like public transport. Hustle of college life for becoming the best doctor.
Tips: Life won't be as easy as you expect, so be mentally prepared. It's going to be like a proper Indian hostel, with all the usual politics. Cooking is your responsibility, so don't come unprepared. You came here to study, so keep that at the top of your priorities. Student life is a little difficult but it’s good at the same time as we get to learn a lot of new things, which helps the students grow better in the future. Like anywhere else, here there are college politics and hostel politics. But we will make the best memories here, so enjoy and participate in all activities, as after these five years there is no fun. Since there aren’t many options for Indians in this city, it can be tough to find items like Indian food and other basics. It’s also difficult to adjust to your new environment at first, but it gets easier once you get your bearings.

Great university with strong academics and tests fortnightly.
Tips: Before joining this college, you should be aware that you'll be living on your own in an unfamiliar city. You should also know that you may not get your scholarship money right away, so don’t panic. You'll be part of a culture change, though, so you'll have to learn how to celebrate Indian holidays. Student life is good here. Many events happen on the Indian Culture Committee, and everyone who’s interested participates. The campus also hosts a lot of quiz programmes and debate competitions, which are great for students looking to expand their vocabularies. Overall, this is a really nice school that takes your studies seriously.
Dislikes (Value for money): The teachers here are very strict, but it's because they really want us to be good doctors. The testing system is very nice because the teachers give us a moral exam. This helps the teachers weed out students who didn't study but still might manage to pass the written exam.

Smolensk State Medical University provides scholarship based on scores.
Tips: I recommend learning cooking before you come to college. No smoking or alcohol is allowed on campus, so be prepared to give that up. I've found that the students tend to grow in a positive way in this environment. We also do have scholarships. For one, there's a scholarship for 6500 dollars that’s divided among the top students at the college. We have classes from morning until evening. As a result, we're unable to work. I am primarily here to study. My parents pay for my education. I’m satisfied with this college.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system is very good and is made up of buses, trams, and “marshutkas” which are mini-buses. Tips: There is a good environment here. I’ve never heard of any junior students complaining about ragging from a senior. Seniors are very comforting and help a lot during the course. You’ll find that some teachers are strict, while others are very friendly, but either way, the education experience here is very good. You should also know there is an initial scholarship that is taken away if you fail an exam on the first try. The hostel has a strict schedule, but there are strict rules about safety and security. The city people are very friendly and helpful. I don't feel insecure in the city's public transportation, or in public places. All the essential stores and shops are very close to the university and hostels, making life easier. Part-time work is not allowed on a student visa, so working part-time is not permitted. Tips: One of the most challenging things about attending Smolensk State Medical University is the transition. There is a lot to get used to after coming here from so far away. We have to adjust a lot of things as we leave our comfort zones. In particular, we must adjust to a new food culture, a new family experience, and a new living environment. However, we have scholarships available here at the university for those who work hard enough to get top marks. The university provides one full year’s tuition for the top student and half that for the second-place student. The faculty at my university is really good. There are many good faculty for foreign students. The faculty can speak English very well, and it's helpful to understand them and their teaching style. Dislikes (Part time work): There are lots of part-time jobs available. But the University doesn't allow us to work because we're on student visas. This is good for us, as there's a lot to study for our MBBS program, and we don't have a lot of free time. We're not bothered by that since our main focus is on studying, which we're doing well.

MBBS - Batch of 2025
Offered by Smolensk State Medical University
4.1
Smolensk state Medical University is best it is the Opportunity to take Admission
Tips: First, check out the university campus and the accommodations, both on and off campus. Try to connect with your seniors and ask them about the course, internship and college. Try to bring warm clothes as it can be very cold during winter. There is no opportunity to work in the city, and the university doesn't allow students to work part-time. This is because this is a medical degree, and the portion is so vast that students cannot complete it if they are working part-time. Overall, I am satisfied with the course and the country.
Likes (Internships): There are lots of practices in universities and hospitals, students can handle a wide range of patients, including those with tuberculosis and lung fibrosis. X-rays are readily available, and medical facilities are excellent, with all medications being affordable at some hospitals. All doctors are careful and well-trained.

Smolensk State Medical University provides numerous internship opportunities.
Tips: It is difficult to survive in Russia at first because of the could climate. However, after two or three months you will get used to it. Other things are normal. You should bring cooking materials like masala and some utensils like a cooker and pan. The university does not allow students to work part-time, which is good because the MBBS course loads is very heavy. The university wants students to focus on their studies and not waste time working. Smolensk has excellent public transportation. There are electric buses, trams, taxi, and marshutkas. You can also rent a car if you have an international driver's license. Traffic is light compared to India, and the signal system is very good, so there are few accidents. Overall, it is a mini India as there are many Indian students in the university.

MBBS - Batch of 2027

2.5
Unconventional medical university.
Tips: My experience at this university has been a mixed bag. While I'm satisfied with the academic aspects of my program, I've been disappointed with the living conditions and food options. The food in the hostel cafeteria is terrible, and the accommodations are not up to par. On the other hand, the university apartments are modern, well-maintained, and provide a comfortable living space. I'm excited about the prospect of becoming a doctor and making a positive impact on people's lives. While I'm satisfied with my decision to study here, I do sometimes wonder if I could have chosen a different country, such as Georgia, which is also known for its medical programs.
Likes (Safety): Safety and security are paramount concerns for students, particularly women when choosing a university. I am pleased to report that my university takes the safety and well-being of its students very seriously. The hostel rules are strict, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment for all residents. From my personal experience, I can confidently say that the university is a safe haven for women. I have not faced any difficulties or concerns regarding my safety since joining the university. The university's emphasis on security was a key factor in my decision to enroll here. The university's commitment to safety is evident in its robust security measures, which include 24/7 surveillance, secure entry and exit points, and a dedicated security team. These measures provide students with a sense of security and peace of mind, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits without worrying about their safety.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of part-time jobs is a crucial aspect for students to consider when pursuing higher education. Unfortunately, on-campus part-time jobs are scarce, leaving students with no option but to explore off-campus opportunities. Off-campus part-time jobs can be found in various industries, such as retail, hospitality, food service, and more. However, these opportunities often require students to commute, which can be time-consuming and exhausting. To manage both part-time work and academics, multitasking is essential. Students must be able to prioritize their tasks, manage their time effectively, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This can be challenging, but it is crucial for academic success and personal well-being. In terms of compensation, the average weekly payout for part-time work is approximately 3,000 rubles, with a maximum of around 3,500 rubles. While this may not be a substantial amount, it can help students cover some of their living expenses and gain valuable work experience.

A place worth living and a degree worth achieving.
Tips: Students should know that it is a long journey, and it is not easy but yes, definitely worth it. There is obviously a transition that suddenly occurs but after spending these many years here, it definitely feels like home. You do get a yearly scholarship here if you score full marks in each subject. I'm satisfied with my choice, in fact, happy to choose this country over others.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe and secure at Smolensk State Medical University. The city is peaceful, and the university and hostel rules that every student must follow contribute to the safety of the campus. Security is a major consideration when choosing a place to study, and Smolensk is a great choice.
Dislikes (Part time work): Students are not allowed to work part-time while studying at Smolensk State Medical University. The university believes that MBBS is a difficult course and does not have any workload. However, if the university had permitted part-time work, everyone would have chosen to do so.

It is an amazing place where we will grow professionally.
Tips: The college is amazing with very good faculty for every subject. The faculty members are well-trained in their respective fields and are more than equipped with knowledge for teaching us. I would suggest students not to have too many expectations, but it will be a good experience working with them.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is well-connected and affordable. Trams, trolleybuses, and marshrutkas provide service, and the routes are well-connected and on time. The system is also easy to track on maps. The people in the city are friendly and will help you find your way if you need to go somewhere. There are also resting stations available.
Dislikes (Indian Food): We used to cook for ourselves because it was more affordable and cheaper than eating out. There were some Indian restaurants, but they were not good enough to eat at every day. The groceries are available at affordable prices, and in the hostels, cooking gas is free and shared by everyone. So we could easily make our own food.
