Great university with supportive faculty.
Tips: Before coming to Macquarie University, it's helpful to know the structure of the university and the cultural shifts that you'll encounter. Shops usually close at 6 pm and cafes at 2 pm. However, there is a lot of good vegetarian food available. The faculty are supportive and will help us with our assignments. I'm super satisfied with my course and unit learning as they are more practical-based.

Good university for quality education.
Tips: Finding a job after graduation is not as easy as it seems. You have to manage everything yourself, which can be overwhelming. You also need to make contacts while you're studying to get a job. On the plus side, the faculty is great and very approachable. There are also lots of events and seminars held on campus, so be sure to participate in them. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of education at my university.

Thriving at Macquarie University: A comprehensive academic and cultural experience.
Tips: Macquarie has a strong academic reputation and offers a variety of scholarships. The campus is vibrant, and the student support services are excellent. Australia is very open, friendly, and laid back, which made it easier to adjust socially. It just takes a little time to adapt to the communication style and daily routine. The faculty at Macquarie University are deeply invested in their students' success. They provide personalized guidance, industry insights, and an engaging learning environment. Their exceptional academic and professional expertise, coupled with their high level of industrial experience, makes them highly knowledgeable.

The campus is great and the pond with a fountain in the center is a panoramic view.
Tips: It took some sort of time to adjust to Australia's education system because it's very different from India. We daily had fixed lectures from 7 am to 2 pm. But here you can set your own timetable according to your feasibility and you have to do self-study before attending the workshops of your unit. As an Indian international student, I got 20000 AUD scholarships. I'm very much satisfied with Macquarie University and the course I'm learning.
Likes (Safety): CCTV cameras are installed throughout the campus. Plus the security team patrols the whole university. Till now I didn't have any bad experiences. The nightlife isn't that great in Sydney. Everybody is at home by 7 pm and everything shut off by 9 pm. You can't see anyone after that time. But it's a part of the routine now, so it doesn't matter.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Transportation to Macquarie University is pretty much sorted. It has its own metro station and is a 10-minute walk from the main campus building. Bus connectivity is the same. Overall affordability is average because the transportation fare in Sydney is extremely high compared to Melbourne. No doubt the services are good but it shouldn't be that costly for students.

It was a good choice to choose Australia.
Tips: The only thing that I faced was that I couldn't eat proper Indian food, and ordering in was quite expensive. I got a 20,000 scholarship from the university. IDP applied for my scholarship. I am pretty satisfied with my course even though it is difficult to get pr. I think If you study hard enough you can get decent jobs here.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is very safe that is what I have experienced. You can travel late. Most of the places have security cameras which adds to the security. There are helplines and regular activities that can help international students who are feeling a little depressed about staying away from home like a free counselling session.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of getting pr are quite difficult in Australia, as some courses and jobs are more favourable, if you get into them, like teaching your chances of getting pr will increase immensely. I am not sure about permanent staying in this country, as I find life in India quite convenient. But the liberal mindset is something that is very appealing in Sydney.

It is a good university with various opportunities.
Tips: It is a very good university and the faculty members are very good. There was no cultural shift. I got the scholarship while I was enrolling at the university. The environment is good and people are very helpful over here. If you face any kind of stress people are here to help you out. Talking about the country it's a bit too early to comment but so far it's good. Also, almost every food contains beef. At a minimum, you have to spend around 10 Dollars for good food. I prefer cooking because it saves a lot of money. I prefer eating at home and if you want to buy groceries, you can get it from Aldi and Coles. I am very satisfied with the university.

Great college campus with lots of activities and friendly faculty.
Tips: Students should know that there is a cultural difference and you meet people from different races and backgrounds. Some might be rude, some might help you but you will also find Indians especially since my university has the most diverse culture in Sydney. I got a scholarship of INR 10 Lakhs. Overall, I am satisfied with my campus and university.
Likes (Safety): The law in Australia is strict, which makes it difficult to commit crimes. The area where I live has excellent security, especially my off-campus apartment building, which requires keycard access to enter. I feel very safe here.
Dislikes (Internships): The university doesn't provide campus placement, so we have to find our own internships. Also, we get rejected for internships because of visa requirements. However, I do have friends who have gotten internships, so it is possible. My field is data science, and it is easier to get an internship in this field.

The university is vibrant with great student life.
Tips: I found it a bit of a cultural shift coming to Macquarie University. There are a lot of Asians here, and not many Indians. But there are a good number of Indians here, and I've made some good friends. I got a scholarship of 10 Lacs rupees as an Indian student and Indians get a 3 year post study visa after they graduate. I am satisfied with my university however I could have done a dual degree so consider that before applying for any courses.
Likes (Part time work): When I came here, the recession was going on and it took me 6 months to get my part-time job. I got other opportunities as well easily and the pay rate is the best in the whole world at 26 Dollars an hour. Just improve your resume according to the job role requirements.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Usually, it is a heaven for people who eat non veg food where we have great options on university campus with more than 10 outlets across the campus and also there is a malls just Next to the university. As a vegetarian it is difficult for me to find restaurants near my location near Macquarie in Sydney however the Indian area called Paramatta has Indian options.

Life at Macquarie University is good. Try to connect with student bodies.
Tips: Students should know that there's going to be big changes coming your way. Embrace each day as it comes. Learn and unlearn. There's a solution for everything. There are student bodies that will help you steer through all problems. Always be yourself and trust that you are capable of making a difference. Make friends, and have fun but know that you are your best friend.
Likes (Safety): I have never felt like I needed an escort to go back home even at 1 am. I have always felt very safe. The people are very nice and friendly and they are always there to help you out. Sydney is a very safe city, especially in today's world.

The college is well managed and friendly.
Tips: Students should be mentally prepared to study and prepare for classes. The academic environment is really nice in the university and lectures are friendly too but you should be prepared to ask questions to the lecturers whenever you have any. Be as open as possible and participate in events, activities and campaigns and build connections.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is one of the safest places to live. The crime rate is very low, and I feel safe when I am travelling at midnight too. The sense of security is really good, I can walk freely around the city. Also, the encounter with police that I have had always been satisfactory.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I do prefer cooking outside because the food outside is not that great and I'm pretty much disappointed by the taste in most of the places. There are not many options available near the place where I live, and the places available charge for food excessively so I prefer cooking.

The university environment is great and supportive.
Tips: Students should know that there is a 10k AUD scholarship per year for South Asian students. Assignments are completely research-based, unlike Indian universities where you have to mug things up. Part-time jobs are a must. You have to be independent. It is not shameful to work.
Likes (Public transportation): Macquarie University is the only University that has a metro station. It drops us off right outside of campus. Apart from the metro, buses are available as well. Transport costs are not that expensive. Keep in mind that we do not get student concessions.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most Indian food in Australia is catered for native Australians and is not authentic. Most Indian food options are North Indian and as a South Indian, it would be nice to see some variety. I prefer cooking Indian food at home and not eating outside.

Great cultural diversity and experience.
Tips: There was an expected cultural shift when coming here, but it was not difficult. Sydney is so multicultural that diversity is the norm and making connections once I adjusted a bit more and found my groove was very seamless. I did avail of a 10,000$ early acceptance scholarship that I was automatically assessed for when I submitted my application. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university, course and Australia as a whole.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Sydney is unarguably the best in all of Australia. Something I love about Macquarie is how it is the only Australian University to have its own Metro station which makes accessibility seamless. Public transport is widespread throughout the outer suburbs as well and is quite affordable.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of highly relevant internships available both at university and outside the university. Something I appreciate about Macquarie University is how much the faculty helps you and guides you in finding a starting point as an undergraduate student in your professional career via the PACE unit. This is a compulsory internship unit offered by the university that goes into depth regarding the scientific field and what companies are actively scouting for.

Good university with knowledgeable faculty and great transportation facilities.
Tips: There was no major shift, the transition was smooth. The university does give good chances for scholarships, especially for gifted students both in sports and education which always helps in funding for students for daily allowance or tuition fee. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course, college and the country.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Australia has some good options regarding visas and has some good categories for people with at least a degree to get into permanent options without the country and this is mainly a thing that is more inclined towards a government thing rather than the university but the university has some well-recognised degrees throughout the country and internationally.
Dislikes (Internships): The university does provide you to get into a work experience programme which is always good to enter and get a taste of the field you're planning to get into and is always a crucial thing when applying for graduate programs and further options.

University is beautiful. Fun learning experiences.
Tips: Make sure you know what you are doing. The choices you made will reflect on the rest of your journey in Australia. Be wise as you'll find a cultural shift that you need to adapt. Each university has a certain set of scholarships for Indian students make sure you get all the details before you enroll. The university is good but the course that I took Engineering Management is not registered/ recognised by Engineers Australia which evaluates your academics. Make sure whatever your choice of course is you choose is recognised under respective boards. Also have a look at skilled occupations list.
Likes (Safety): Sydney suburbs and other suburbs around the unis are quite safe and calm. Law enforcement is good. It's just that you won't find frequent buses to travel after 9pm. Except the CBD, and few suburbs. Rest all are dead street after 9pm. It is 98% safe always to travel alone at nights too.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It all depends on what courses you are doing and the relevant experience that you have with respect to the Immigration skilled occupation list. Do prior research on the courses you want to pursue. Aligning your interests, goals and skilled occupation list to meet the points to get PR.

This was a new experience.
Tips: Back in my home country, I used to rely on my parents if I needed anything. But it is completely different now, I am independent now, I am making all the things alone, and I am loving this kind of life. I have availed a scholarship and Shiksha Study abroad helped me through that. I am very satisfied with the University, course and the country and I am happy. Before coming here please know about, Convenor for the UNIT, fee structure and the curriculum.
Likes (Indian Food): I actually prefer to eat home food. But as I didn't have much time to cook some days I prefer to eat from a few of the restaurants where we find all types of food from anywhere in the world. I tried Indian, Chinese, Korean, Mexican and a few other country foods which felt authentic.
Dislikes (Safety): I didn't have any personal experience on this but I heard from my friends that the refugee people are dangerous here. We need to be careful with them better to avoid a talk with them and be pleasant with everyone. Apart from that, I feel very safe here.

Good university but it comes for a price.
Tips: Students should know that it is highly expensive to stay abroad in this economic environment. The budgets for rent, food and transport are far higher than what is being shown. Scholarships pay for less than 10 percent of the entire student tuition fee and also the tuition fees are rising yearly.
Likes (Safety): Upgraded modern safety pieces of equipment and safety poles (security and safety points of contact) are present across the campus. Day and night security is available on campus with dedicated security escort teams available if needed. The policies for security are amongst the safest and best in Australia.
Dislikes (Internships): There is almost no internship option for International Students studying environmental science and its associated fields. Small work opportunities are often almost exclusively available for domestic kids. There are few opportunities as well but they come rarely.

Practical knowledge is good in the course module.
Tips: Moving here helped me a great deal as it boosted my CV and got a hike of 30 per cent more than the normal average. And I think I am satisfied with my course and the university. Australia is great, especially for Indians because of the diversity ratio and this made it easy for me to fit in.
Likes (Post study jobs): Jobs are good as the scope is good in the field since finance is the burn oil of the economy and I think finance will play an important part. I think there are many opportunities for Indian immigrants in the field of finance as a finance analyst and packages are around 12 lakh per month.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is connected well with public transport and the electric revolution is playing a great deal in connecting two places. Master of Information Systems Management - Batch of 2025

Plenty of study options to choose
Tips: Make sure you are availing the 2 year course which will provide you a post-study work visa. The quality of teaching depends on the tutor, some of the tutors are great some are below par. The University is well equipped with all the requirements, labs, study areas, library, classrooms, open area, etc A suggestion, if you are good with your academics, Macquarie offer Master in Research where your 1st year is a normal master's program and 2nd year is for your research work. It has a couple of advantages - 1. Highly valued degree, once you have this degree you will easily find a high paying job. 2. Full working rights when you are doing your research work. I have seen students finishing their research in 1st 4-5 months, remaining months they worked full time and earned lots of dollars. 3. Extra Points for PR 4. If your academic score is well, 2nd year will be fully funded by Macqurie (100% scholarships) You need to be good with your writing skills as the research paper are 50 pages fully written in your own words. I would highly suggest everyone look at these options. Disadvantage - 1. Difficult compared to normal master's degree. 2. If your research work is not up to the mark, you might spend some extra time completing your degree. 3. You have to do it all alone. Unlike normal masters where you can take help from your friends. Remember it is research on a new topic (similar to Phd)
Likes (Student Life): The University is big, you will make lots of friends if you are good with making new connections. You can find any odd jobs so that you can start earning some dollars. Sydney is a beautiful place where you can roam around. The University does well in welcoming first-year students.
Dislikes (Internships): It's early for me to comment as I am studying for my 1 semester exam. I have seen lots of companies coming here with their internship program but you have to make your own way there. One thing to notice is all the internships are unpaid. There are lots of classes for how to write your essay, build CV, etc

The university has strong and interactive curriculum. The faculty are very talented.
Tips: Before coming to Sydney University, I recommend that you research the course you have selected to determine its long-term value. Also, find out which courses you will need to take throughout your degree. There is a cultural shift in the Australian way of living. People don't like being referred to as Sir or Madam. Overall, studying is stressful, but I am satisfied with my course and the country I am living in.
Likes (Public transportation): Sydney transport is very convenient as the lines are generally connected to most of the major stops as well as the frequency of the transport coming in every 5-10 minutes. The weak part of the system is the bus which generally takes 30-60 minutes to wait.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Usually, large companies sponsor visas like Google or Microsoft. As well as well-known companies in the local area. They generally offer work visa to accelerate settlement in Australia. Job roles for my degree is Graduate/Intern software engineer in the early career.

You should know what you want to achieve before joining the University of Sydney.
Tips: Before joining students should know what they want to achieve from their course, otherwise, they would feel very lost. A cultural shift would usually be felt in classes with group work. Scholarships I got were mostly project based, like research in 3-4th year. The course quality itself is debatable but highly dependent on individuals. Lectures are useful if you attend the tutorials/lab to consolidate them. I clean towards research than regular coursework in my final years, so I enjoy the honours year more.
Likes (Internships): The guidance for off-campus internships are very high-level and mostly focused on the application process. However, since internships are a compulsory module for engineering students, this forced me to apply for internships during my undergraduate years, which turned out to be a beneficial experience. On-campus internships are research-oriented, but there are relatively sufficient opportunities for everyone.
Dislikes (Value for money): The course quality at the University of Sydney varies a lot, and I think the overall quality is average. Also, the tuition fee increases every year, which is probably due to inflation. However, it's still very difficult for international students to support themselves with the full-time course requirements without some kind of extra income.

Master of Business Law - Batch of 2026

The University of Sydney provides great exposure.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should check out the course properly. Australia has jobs in a select few fields, mostly in the commerce and law departments. So, check out what course you are doing. Business law is the biggest field. Most of the faculty are adjunct faculty who are currently working, so they are big names professionally in their respective fields.
Likes (Post study jobs): The University of Sydney provides great exposure because it's the biggest university in one of the world's biggest cities. Australia has a referral system for jobs, which means you need a referral from a respected individual to get hired. But since this is such a big university, you'll have lots of people to refer you, making your job search easier.
Dislikes (Part time work): There were not many on-campus jobs, and those that were available were often filled by students who were enrolled in four-year degrees. The single year students do not get much opportunity on campus. It is much better off campus.

The University of Sydney has a good work environment, great faculty and vibrant campus.
Tips: I've loved my time at UNSW so far. If you're only planning to study and get a good job, you're missing out on so much more. UNSW has a lot of Asian students, and after a short time, you'll feel comfortable here. The library is good, and computer access is convenient. The only downside is that the administration can be a bit bureaucratic. Overall, I am satisfied with the university.
Likes (Public transportation): The buses are more convenient than personal vehicles or cabs. They are cost-effective and faster than trains, which can be a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, you'll find the transportation system to be convenient and comfortable. The university is also within walking distance of Redfern Station or a bus ride from Central Station.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer cooking meals at my place because it's easier and more convenient than searching for a good restaurant. Also, you can easily find spices and ingredients in the stores to make good food at home.

Quality Education, practical experience, but high cost.
Tips: The university provides excellent facilities, but the tuition fee is expensive. It is very academically oriented and one would excel if looking into academic research with good funding and support. There is a little shortage of diversity in the classrooms, especially for master's degree courses. Finding jobs and internships in the teaching sector is tough at present, and networking is the biggest source to find good opportunities. Although the service sector jobs are huge in number, there is a dearth of R&D jobs, especially for international students on visas. The city has become more and more expensive each year with ever-increasing rents and cost of living. Universities don't offer scholarships that are of significant amount except for PhD and Post Doc students. The city and the country are one of the most beautiful places to live with a big Indian community already settled here in certain parts. Overall, the education is good, but it is of less value for money considering the high auxiliary expenses however, if you can manage to get a scholarship, it's a good option to consider.
Likes (Public transportation): Well-connected public transport, although a bit expensive. A comprehensive network of trains and buses running round the clock. Transportation directly connects most of the residential places to the university as the central station and central bus stop are next to the university. It is also possible to find accommodation close to university.
Dislikes (Part time work): Due to a large number of international students coming to Sydney, the number of opportunities is limited and that is the case for both on-campus and off-campus jobs. Part-time work with academics is quite manageable as long as you study throughout the semester. Hourly rate for part-time jobs off campus is around 25-30 AUD.

This university has reputation in the market!
Tips: The university has a good reputation here in Australia and that itself speaks a lot. You can easily get a job here with a degree from this university but make sure that you keep up with the industry you are wishing to leap onto. The university is a bit expensive and accommodation in this city doesn't lay back in monetary terms, it's expensive! The campus is very big but the faculty teaches in conventional method and don't adapt. Make sure to build a lot of connections with locals here as well it'll help you with getting to know about job opportunities here.

Holistic learning experience.
Tips: Really nice and warm people in Sydney. Great weather but harsh sun so sunscreen is a must. Rent in the city is insanely high. Overall, satisfied with the course content and the faculty at Sydney University. I was awarded the Sydney International student scholarship so students applying can try.

Usyd Description by a postgrad student
Tips: Everything regarding planning your course must be discovered yourself. And networking with like-minded individuals is just as important. The curriculum sometimes clashes with undergrad students which makes you question the postgraduate degree but it's easier to find internships.
Likes (Indian Food): Plenty of Indian food restaurants in the city. I work a part-time job at one of them. So anytime you crave Indian food just go down to paramatta, Harris park, and you'll find plenty of food joints representing different cuisines of India. So can't really miss home food here.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships in my field of study are available only for domestic students, as I found out recently. There's a lot of competition when it comes to roles like Research Assistants and Teaching Assistants, it's always better to look for internships externally.

A great place to study and even better to live life at.
Tips: Studies here are much more difficult than they appear to be. Also, getting admission is easy so students must not think the same about the studies. The orientation week could be the most useful week of the semester. One should focus on paying more attention to degree planning before starting the course.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at USYD is very easy to reach out. From ground level tutors with whom we interact daily to senior heads of departments, everyone is an expert in his/her field of teaching. The faculty in each department is perfectly attributed with all the necessary skills of a teacher.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since my origin country is India, for obvious reasons no place/ country can match the amount of food and flavour choices that we get in India. There’s not a lot of options for street food and Indian snacks anywhere inside or around the campus.

This college is truly amazing in all aspects, starting from quality of education to infrastructure.
Tips: Students should be well-versed in at least two languages, one of which can be English. They must possess a high level of proficiency in the English language. They should be extrovert in nature. They should also possess sound communication skills. One should freely be able to mix up with his peers. People from all over the world come to study in this wonderful college, which possesses a high level of student diversity.
Likes (Part time work): While pursuing this amazing course, a student can easily access the amazing and diverse work environment of Sydney, which has been consistently ranked one of the most livable cities in the world. In Sydney, the financial capital of Australia, there are various sorts of quality part-time jobs available, which are customized or specially designed for students.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Although some sorts of Indian cuisines are available at this college, one may not get access to some of his/her favorite Indian dishes. Various sorts of continental dishes are available. But Indian cuisines are relatively less available than continental dishes.

The University of Sydney is a great place to be in with friendly people and highly educated faculty.
Tips: The University of Sydney is a great place to study. The campus is beautiful, the students are friendly and helpful, and the faculty members are very supportive. There are a lot of Indians at the university, so if you are from India, you will feel right at home. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university.
Likes (Safety): There might be some issues at night. But apart from that, everything is really very safe and sound. The security in every locality, especially inside the university and even the campus locality, is quite good, and one can feel really very safe. You can choose the university.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer eating outside. The locality has good Indian and local food. The food is a bit costly compared to Indian rupees, but if you are okay with spending, you will get good quality Indian food. Apart from this, the local food and street vendors are also quite supportive of it.

The University of Sydney is a great college and worth the money.
Tips: Students should know that it is very hard to get a part-time job in Sydney and it is also expensive for students to live as the campus is located in the centre near the Opera House. We have a lot of fast food chains, however, they mostly prefer Australians for a jobs although some shops hire international students but the competition is high as student numbers are high in Sydney.
Likes (Value for money): Great faculty and advanced syllabus. You have to spend more time on your studies at least 35 hours per week. I think the tuition fee is more expensive when we compare it to other Universities but I would say it is worth it. The tuition fee is around 53000 AUD and we have a couple of scholarships for people from India to avail.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no Indian food restaurants around the campus. You have to go far to find a good Indian restaurant and the on-campus food is expensive. Mainly we have Arabic restaurants and we have fast food chains like Mecca and KFC which are 800m away from the campus.

USyd: A great pick for international students.
Tips: USyd has a large international student community, and also a lot of support groups for new students. The extensive course options, rich student culture, and beautiful campus give you a well-balanced student life. The cost of living in Sydney is on the higher side, however, part-time jobs are easy to come by and will cover most if not all of your monthly expenses. Moreover, Australia has various immigration options which students can avail of after graduation.
Likes (Indian Food): Due to a large Indian community being present in Sydney, you have easy access to Indian food, however, the prices can vary anywhere from 5 AUD for a meal to about 25-30 AUD. Most restaurants offer both south and north Indian options, and you may also find places serving up cuisine from your hometown.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are not normally an option for international students who are undertaking a master's course. Usually for engaging with a local company, working rights are required, which does not apply to those on a student visa. However, for research-based courses, the university assists with connecting the students to relevant people.
