MSc Finance - Batch of 2025
3.7
Maynooth University is a hidden gem.
Tips: Before joining students should know that the university offers the highest quality education at lower prices than more famous universities in Ireland. It is hard to find a job after graduation, so be prepared to have extra savings. Ireland is an excellent place for software engineering, law, or pharma. To get a job in the next year, start applying for jobs on LinkedIn or Indeed at the start of September.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Getting a job in the finance industry in Ireland isn't easy. The world economy is not expanding, and Europe is notorious for its complex and lengthy immigration process. However, Ireland is still one of the best countries in Europe. If you are exceptionally good, more opportunities will be presented to you.

MSc in Business Analytics - Batch of 2024

The university is good for research studies.
Tips: Students should be aware of whether they can adapt to this study procedure. Check if you are eligible for any scholarships. And don't expect to get part-time work at the moment you reach Ireland. I was satisfied with my course but the only thing is placement, I don't get any guidance for placement from my university. My job search is on my own.
Likes (Student Life): We get a lot of project and learning opportunities for the development of careers so I recommend a good rating for the student life. The most enjoyable thing about college is the flexibility to work. University organizes different kinds of events like student well aware events, traditional parties, culture-oriented programs etc.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post-study jobs for now is very difficult to find a job even if we have good experience in the respective field. And a lot of companies do not offer sponsorship for visas for work. I'm looking for job roles such as Power BI developed, Business analyst, data analyst, etc.

MSc International Business - Batch of 2022

Multi-dimensional, fast moving and fun.
Tips: Students should know that the curriculum is not based on the traditional book-and-revision method. You need to study prior to the lecture, understand concepts, do assignments, and do internal research as well on the subject apart from lectures. There are various resources available, and you can use them for studies.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a few shops like McD and Supermacs available in Maynooth Town. However, if you are habituated to Indian food, you might have to travel to Dublin or cook by yourself. Although there's a food option available on campus, you need to see what suits you the best.

Best university to opt for Biotech with great faculty and staff.
Tips: My experience studying at Maynooth University till now is very good. I was able to gain more confidence and speak better English as compared to my home country. The university is multi-dimensional so I made many new friends from different countries and cultures. No scholarship was provided to me but I'm satisfied with the journey so far.

Overall Great University
Tips: Students before joining this college should be aware of accommodation (especially affordable housing) can be challenging due to Ireland's housing crisis. Start searching well in advance (consider student housing, shared rentals). Maynooth is a small town with limited part-time job options. You can always live in Dublin and commute to Maynooth.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is a small town so only a few jobs are available. You can only work 20 hours as a part time while studying so it is pretty manageable. During holiday season you can work 40 hours, minimum wage is 11.80 Euros, so you should be able to manage your expenses easily. There are other towns nearby - Celbridge ,Leixlip where you can also find jobs.

Wonderful experience with insightful learning plus struggles to get job after studies
Tips: Language skills - English is essential to get a good job post-education. Learning about Irish culture, events and sports is advised if you plan to amalgamate at your workplace and Uni. Each year more students are coming to Ireland apart from working professionals, so it's getting tougher to get jobs post education. This should be a serious concern if you are a fresher or have fewer years of experience. University, course and country are excellent but getting a job after studies is the real challenge.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty is approachable and well diverse. Group projects, individual assignments, class activities etc are used for learning. 3rd Term is thesis or business consulting or work placement. Facul was from Ireland, UK, Russia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Italy, etc.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are less restaurants and expensive ones, only 1-2 Indian restaurants is the locality. Eventually, it's ideal to cook yourself. Food delivery is also expensive as delivery fees is also common for most deliveries. If you are doing part-time jobs at restaurants you may get free meals but again that's subjective.

Good student life. Try to make friends, good for networking.
Tips: Come prepared that you are going to stay away from family, so you better have friends and activities joined. Avoid being sentimental as you are investing your money to achieve something, rather than going as cry baby back to your country. A lot of Indians are here so try to be friendly with them but also the Irish ones( they are better). Scholarships are there but that's according to university norms, not everyone avails of scholarships. I am satisfied with the university, the campus is great and student life is not hard

My fulfilling university experience
Tips: The university is very welcoming, and the people here are very friendly. There was a bit of a cultural shift in the beginning but it's adaptable. I'm very satisfied with the university. I believe that I've learned a lot, both academically and personally. It's been an amazing experience.

Maynooth University is one of the best university
Tips: I didn't feel any cultural shift. Irish are friendly and helpful. There are certain scholarships which you can avail of based on the essays that you submit. I'm extremely satisfied with the course. It's good for experienced people. The country is good as it has the best natural places.

Lovable, friendly and academically oriented university.
Tips: Maynooth has a vibrant student community and there are many clubs, societies and events to get involved in. The University also emphasis on student-centred learning. Keep your open to new opportunities and grow and learn along with your academics and social life.
Likes (Safety): In terms of safety Ireland can be considered one of the safest destinations for International students. Maynooth University was recently recognised as one of the safest. There is a health and safety office as well at Maynooth to evaluate risk and orientation takes place before every semester.
Dislikes (Internships): Several companies like Microsoft, Abbot and Intel offer internship opportunities in Maynooth City. You will have to network with companies and keep yourself active socially to get leads. Offers can range anywhere from 7K to 10K euros depending upon your qualification and skill set.

A place that develops you in every way
Tips: You need to be able to cook and do all the stuff along with managing studies so be prepared for that. It can be hard to make friends on the first day but it's not difficult at all. The people are very friendly. Irish people in general are very kind and helpful and fun-loving.
Likes (Safety): It is a college town and we use public transport all the time. I have not felt unsafe while going alone anywhere. People go out all the time and hang out till late at night as well but the crowd of the town or university itself is pretty nice and the people are helpful and kind.
Dislikes (Part time work): I went in 2020 and due to covid the 2 years things were closed and it was difficult to get a part job on campus. However, there were enough opportunities to find work in places outside but closer to the campus. But you will have to work hard to get those jobs.

Maynooth University is fun loving yet an academically oriented school.
Tips: One thing that your should know is to try to make friends early when you start college because in later years people would have made their friend group and won't mingle with you very much. The students are really friendly but won't bother to come and hang out otherwise.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty in Maynooth University is outstanding. They treat every student nicely and spend individual time with them if needed. When it comes to needing extra assistance or some help even outside the course, they would do their best to help the student out. I feel like that's the most important thing for an international student.
Dislikes (Part time work): Even though Maynooth University is an amazing school the one major problem I faced was not being able to find part-time jobs easily. Not only me, but even my friends are facing the same issue and the school does not unnecessarily help the students find one in any way.

MSc Business Management - Batch of 2020
3.9
Maynooth University is good university with less program prices than other Universities in Dublin
Tips: University is really good for technical programs as Ireland is IT dominant country. Quality of technical education is really good with 8/10 but management courses can be rated 6/10 as mostly they are focused on the theoretical part then practical. So choose your program wisely.
Likes (Safety): Maynooth university is really good for technical programs. Campus is huge and there are campus accommodations available on a first come first serve basis. Whole campus is under 24X7 security and CCTV surveillance. Maynooth is very peaceful town and crime rate is very low or none
Dislikes (Value for money): MSc Business Management is a blend of theoretical and practical modules but theoretical modules are more focused than practical. There is no exam for this program and you have to submit assignments in Harvard style of writing. If a student wants to peruse PHD after this program then this program is perfect for them as it will definitely improve your writing research paper skills but if you straight away want to go in job market then it’s not ideal as there are only 2 practical modules of Marketing and Supply chain management.

An academically stimulating but a fun, social and live experience.
Tips: I did feel a bit homesick at first but the university was very welcoming. The faculty is great here and very supportive. The president's advisors here are always there for help. I did experience a bit of a cultural shift but it's not that hard at all so far. I'm fairly satisfied with my course and the university so far. There is always construction going on but the campus is huge so most of the time it wouldn't matter.
Likes (Student Life): I spend the morning preparing for classes and eating breakfast. I generally attend classes from 11-4. After class, I have a milkshake, explore campus, or spend time with friends or in the library. There are a lot of club events and opportunities on campus, and I'm involved in several. There are also observation events, festival events, a Science undergraduate society, and an alma mater society that regularly hosts events.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I'm unsure about future prospects given the stricter immigration policies to be implemented in Canada. Also, I'm looking for post graduate and Ph.D. options in other countries because there are more research opportunities in astrophysics and particle Physics in other countries.

Fantastic location and friendly people but academically challenging.
Tips: Students should take the opportunity to mingle with international students and make the most of their experience. You should also try to secure work experience and internships near the university. The course is academically rigorous, so it’s not easy. A lot of self-study is required, as rote learning won’t help. You need to be dedicated and open to challenging your own biases.
Likes (Safety): Canada is extremely safe and UBC has its own police force. There is also a hospital on campus and Canada offers free healthcare. Canadians are extremely multicultural and welcoming towards immigrants. However, it’s important to push yourself out of your comfort zone and make an effort to assimilate.
Dislikes (Internships): The universities abroad often don’t guarantee internships for students. They have a job board and general guidance but it’s up to you to find and apply for jobs. The career counselor will guide you to make the most out of the opportunities.

Eye-opening but money sucking school.
Tips: Internal fees is too high, become permanent resident first and then go to this school. Very eye-opening for middle-class students like me because I used to think that very intelligent and brilliant students study here but then you get to know that you are as brilliant and can be more brilliant than them - they just have the money. You develop very high confidence in yourself.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): If you will come to UBC, it will be either for Bachelor or Masters - in both cases, you will earn good points for education. There is a high chance that you will get a good job, however no guarantee. But definitely a better chance of getting permanent residence after graduation from here than a college.
Dislikes (Indian Food): No on campus Indian restaurants or Indian food. Often during exam season, you will have to eat from outside but there are not many options available except Uncle Fatih pizza. It is also extremely expensive to eat outside. The on-campus Indian grocery store is also extremely expensive.

Fun learning and research experience
Tips: The weather is not that different. People are fun and helpful. If you're coming here for research-based programs, you don't have to worry about student debts, since you're given plenty of stipend from your supervisor as well as international awards.
Likes (Public transportation): As for students in thesis-based programs, it's easy to make friends with students in your lab. So you don't feel alone. Lots of events are organized, including community events. How much time you want to spend on campus depends on you, since there aren't a lot of classes.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm here for a thesis-based master's, and I can reach out to my supervisor any time I want. Faculty as well as students are diverse. For research-based programs, you only have 1 or 2 courses per term without mandatory attendance. Courses are tailored to your research field, some have exams and some have only assignments and group projects.

Best engineering and business program in Canada.
Tips: Students joining this college should know that it has high fee structure. Vibrant campus community and abundance of opportunities to grow. It is always rainy here but it gives a lot of exposure. High research output and supportive faculty. There is a huge campus. Good food options are there with high living cost. It is one of the best engineering and business program in Canada.
Likes (Public transportation): UBC is one of the major transit hubs of Vancouver making it accessible from any part around the greater Vancouver area. They are also building a direct rapid train network to connect UBC to the rest of the city which will make it even better for students and faculty who live off campus.
Dislikes (Value for money): Being a top university of not just Canada but globally, makes UBC a rather expensive university with 4 - 6% tuition fee increase year on year. However, this is compensated by the amount of exposure one gets here along with the vibrant campus community. Living expenses are generally high considering the cost of living in Vancouver.

Value for money! It gives memories, experience and opportunities.
Tips: This university will you give you lifetime of memories and skills that will help you in life, beyond your chosen career. You will find innumerable opportunities to explore your capabilities and use them in life. There are several clubs and design teams that you can join, which will really add up to your resume. There is also a good advantage of developing your network here since there are always new guest lecturers, workshops, seminars, etc. happening on campus.
Likes (Value for money): No doubt this university is costly for international students but it gives you exactly the university and adulting experience you need in life. There are innumerable opportunities for you to explore and develop your skills and it all depends on how you use them.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Because of the opportunities available in my chosen field which is mining engineering, due to the electrification of this field. We are transitioning from more human force to mechanical approach to reduce our carbon footprints which will lead to lesser jobs in future in this sector.
