MBBS (General Medicine) - Batch of 2030
4.9
The university is very welcoming and the faculty and staffs are very friendly.
Tips: It was very easy to shift to this country and start my studies. The college support staff is great and is doing everything they can to make sure I don't have any problems. The international department is providing every possible support for my medical insurance, visa extension, medical checkup, biometrics, etc. Every professor at this college is highly educated and has been awarded by the Russian Government. They are dedicated to providing you with knowledge and are very good at explaining things. They also provide PDFs that you can read in the dormitory. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I didn't like the food at this college. None of the dishes were spicy, and most of the food was non-vegetarian. There were a few vegetarian options, but they weren't spicy like Indian food. There were lots of sweet dishes, like doughnuts, garlic bread, chocolates, and biscuits. Some of the Russian food items were good, but overall I didn't like the food.

Petrozavodsk State University is really one of a kind with great faculty.
Tips: After coming here, I learned the most important thing is discipline, which is very much necessary in future life. I have experienced a little bit of a cultural shift, but it hasn't been too difficult to adjust. I prefer to cook my own food, as it is healthier and fits my budget. For dining out, I would choose shwarma, which is both healthy and tasty. It is also inexpensive, at around 150 to 250 rubles. There are also many fast food options available. Russia is a beautiful country, and I am glad I am here. I am fully satisfied with my university and the course that I choose to study, which is general medicine.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I really like the faculty at Petrozavodsk State University. They are highly qualified, and their teaching methods are excellent. Every week we have to take a test on the subject we are studying, and we have to pass it to move on to the next topic. The tests are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score. If we score a 5, we are considered to have done excellent work, if we score a 4, we are considered to have done good work, if we score a 3, we are considered to have done average work, and if we score a 2 or below, we are considered to have failed and must retake the test.

The university is great but the hostel has so much politics going on.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that they need to be able to cook food and focus just only on their studies. They should be ready to study MBBS abroad, leaving their family behind and sacrificing every comfort for their goal. There are many career options available to students who study in Europe. They can get a license to practice in India, or they can focus on their post-graduation and do a PG programme. In either case, they need to ensure that they have the right direction for doing their PG programme. The food is not very spicy, and there is not much Indian food available. Even when Indian food is available, it often lacks chilli peppers, and it doesn't taste like Indian food at all. So we always have to carry our own sauces to add flavour.

The student life in our university is great. We have sports, events and clubs.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should be prepared to face food, finance, or studies challenges. Scholarships are available, but students must get a 5 in all subjects and no more than three 4s. Cherkessk City is very safe for foreign students. I never encountered any unsafe situations, and our hostels had security guards posted every day. We were allowed to visit malls, churches, and other places without restriction. I was satisfied with my college and course to some extent, and the country is great, no doubt.
Dislikes (Part time work): Foreign students in Russia do not have work permits because they are on student visas. Not knowing the Russian language makes it difficult for them to find employment, so they must rely on their parents for financial support.
