SETU is a good university with structured courses.
Tips: Students coming from different backgrounds might experience a bit of a cultural shift. SETU offers a range of scholarships through an application process that assesses academics. Most students find SETU's courses well structured. The faculty is always there to help students do their best, and students should not hesitate to ask for help. However, there are very few opportunities to get a part-time job. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course.

For easy going students who only want to pass
Tips: Students coming here must apply for online 2000 Euro scholarship.
Easy going college with no issue with attendance. You can do part-time and make a lot of money during the course.
Cheap and the best, however, Dublin has opportunities in terms of professional jobs as compared to Waterford if you can spend some extra money go to Dublin.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in Waterford is quite good. Being a small city a lot of buses run from the city centre however, you need to get a student leap card online that will cost you very cheap public transport so get a leap student card as soon as you land.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For food, if you know how to cook it will be best for you and would be really cheap however if you order or go out it will be expensive. Please learn cooking else you will save nothing here. Especially for vegetarians, life is difficult if you don't know how to cook.

A place to shape your career
Tips: We might face a little cultural difference at first but we get used to it. The people around are quite friendly. I have learned to be independent and manage my expenses. We have a very good work-life balance here.
The course I opted for didn’t have any scholarship. The university is good. You will get to learn a lot. Although the weather in Ireland is a bit gloomy. Be ready to experience all the seasons in a single day.
Likes (Quality of faculty): You can reach to faculty any time over calls or mails. They try to rectify students' doubts. The study is mostly practical based so the understanding of the concepts is clear. The faculty are majority Irish, and their accent is a little difficult to catch at first but you will get used to it.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Ireland doesn’t have many India restaurants and the ones that are present are comparatively very high. A biryani would be more than 20 euros.
Baguettes are one of the cheapest options you can find here (€5). I would prefer to cook at home and eat mostly at home.

Waterford Institute of Technology has a diverse campus life.
Tips: After moving you will find yourself living independently and learning to speak fluently without any hesitation. Also, would suggest meeting new people and joining cultural clubs which would help out a lot. You can also participate in sports events which are held here semi-annually.
Likes (Safety): Many international students from different parts of the world and diversities study here at Carlow campus. Locals are very friendly and racism or hate crime is a very rare phenomenon here. Campus authorities and local people help out a lot which makes it easier.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Common industries in Waterford include healthcare, education, manufacturing, and technology but preferential treatment is given to candidates. Also, lots of scope is there after engineering and IT but you will have to work out and search a lot to get the best company offering you PSW visa.

Best at Public transportation.
Tips: It's a good decision if you have opted to come here, it's a good opportunity and the college is really nice. The campus is really beautiful. There are well-connected bus routes to the college so travelling is not a hassle. There are a lot of sports and club activities which will keep you indulged throughout the semester.
Likes (Public transportation): Its very well connected. There are cycles for public everywhere around the city where you can rent them around the campus as well. So that's a good option and apart from that the bus routes are well connected and the timings are also good so you can make use of them.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food is not similar to what we get in India, you will have to sacrifice here. The food here is expensive. From a student's perspective, it's very difficult to buy food from Indian shops because it's expensive. The canteen food is also not priced at a level where you can have a meal there regularly.

Perfect ground for success.
Tips: The transition I experienced is that you have to be quite independent and motivate yourself to be a multi-tasker. In terms of scholarships, I did not avail any. I am quite satisfied with the university as they offer not only academic excellence but also engage us with the industry and extracurricular activities. In terms of the country, it is a beautiful place and very peaceful so anyone coming here will love it.
Likes (Post study jobs): There will be many companies visiting your campus offering you jobs like EY, Pwc, etc. So if you avail opportunities with them timely they will give you sponsorship. Job roles relating to audit, strategy, and sales associate are offered if you are doing a business related course and the average salary is 30000-40000 euros.
Dislikes (Part time work): Plenty of part-time jobs are available on campus if you apply on time. The students are only allowed to work 20 hours per week at a part time so along with academics it is easily manageable. The average payout is good as every employer gives you the basic minimum pay.

Tips: Students should have a strong background in what they want to do after graduation. Without any experience in your chosen field, it's difficult to get a job here, especially for undergrad students. Also, students should develop some knowledge of programming, as the staff here doesn't go into enough detail before assigning assignments or dissertations. The campus is clean and has everything a student needs for their studies and activities. The teaching faculty is average, and you'll find all types of professors here. Some will be supportive, while others may not care. Overall, it's a fantastic campus that provides a variety of opportunities to help students expand their horizons.
Dislikes (Safety): I came to Ireland from another country. When I got here, I was accosted by a group of children who tried to steal my headphones. I was surprised and upset by their behaviour. I tried to reason with them, but they were intent on taking my headphones. I called the police, but they refused to do anything because the children were minors.

DCU is good and I would recommend it to others.
Tips: It's a great school in a beautiful country with wonderful people. Students should know that it is important to learn about the ranking of the university and see if you're eligible for any scholarships at the initial stage after you receive your seat. Also, keep in mind that exploring the city during your course may be limited due to budget constraints.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at DCU are both helpful and approved making the academic experience more engaging and enriching. From the very beginning, professors are super helpful and committed to ensuring that students adapt well to the new academic environment. Initially, catching up can be quite challenging especially for those familiar teaching methods compare to back home. However, as time pass by, the process becomes more adaptable and manageable with the support of the faculty. Professors at DCU encourage us to participate actively in discussions and, collaboration and inclusive teaching atmosphere. The open discussions between professors and students are particularly engaging and interesting allowing us to exchange diverse perceptive. Faculty members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, which they share enthusiastically, inspiring students to think critically and be innovative. One of the most remarkable aspects of the faculty is their openness and accessibility. Whether it is during lectures, office hours or through emails, they are always willing to assist during working hours and provide guidance on assignments and projects. It is good and would recommend to students. The most remarkable aspects of the faculty are their openness and accessibility. Whether it is during lectures, during their office hours or through email, they are always willing to help and guide the students.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are limited, and the competition for the available positions is fierce. Off-campus employment opportunities are somewhat better, but it can take a while to find a suitable position. Personally, I have been able to manage my part-time work and studies, but I have less time for myself. The minimum wage here is 12.5.

Tips: Dublin City University (DCU) is perfect for someone looking to pursue greater heights academically and in other fields like sports. They maintain an excellent standard for themselves. So far in my time at DCU, they have offered the best college experience compared to my previous University.
Likes (Student Life): My current campus offers many facilities that my previous university didn't, such as a pharmacy, a supermarket, designed space to eat, and a proper canteen. Additionally, we're kept well-informed about various events and activities through their engaging Instagram pages.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food available here is either overpriced or lacks authenticity, leaving me disappointed. Given the high cost and poor quality, I've realized that I could easily prepare the same dishes at home. Not only would it be more affordable, but it would also taste better.

My experience at DCU was good, but I think the university could do more to help it.
Tips: Students should know that the transition will be heard as they move away from the safety of their home. The course has mostly Indians though, as I expected more diversity there. I got a scholarship of 2000 Euros for my course fee. The college can be rated as above average after TCD and UCD here in Dublin. It is a nice university, but the faculty could have been better, as a lot of new first-time professors in this January intake were here. Nonetheless, a lot of hard work and self-study are needed.

Good experience but a bad market with limited job.
Tips: At least have 2 years of experience otherwise, get some experience and come aboard. To get a scholarship you've to be an early applicant. It is completely random. Don't be shy to talk or ask questions. No one is going to judge you. People in the college are more friendly and make you feel more comfortable.
Likes (Part time work): Yow will land any part-time job. Visit directly to the place and talk to the manager about any available vacancy. This will increase your chance of landing a job. Don't apply online for a part-time job and wait for a reply. It never going to work like that.
Dislikes (Internships): There are no internship opportunities in Ireland. Here they prefer a graduate role. It's very rare to get an internship opportunity in Ireland. Since companies prefer a graduate role over an internship. It's limited in Ireland, as the majority of businesses focus on graduate employment.

Tips: Students should be aware of their program's prerequisites and the registration procedure when they attend DCU. Attend the campus resources orientation and seek assistance from student services. Keep track of your assignments and due dates. Join organizations and groups to get a well-rounded experience. If you don't reside on campus, schedule your commute.
Likes (Public transportation): Direct Bus: A direct bus service that connects DCU and Palmerstown may not exist. Dublin Bus, however, has several routes that can get you there. For instance, you might have to ride the bus from DCU to the city centre, where you'll need to change to another one that goes to Palmerstown. Routes: The 25, 66, and 67 are frequently used routes in the Palmerstown region. For comprehensive route information and real-time updates, visit the Dublin Bus website.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Like if you get a job then you will have to renew your stamp to 1G and from stamp 2 which is a student visa. After that if you get a job then you can get a critical skills visa that is stamp 1 directly after living for 2 years u are eligible for stamp 4.

Easy going, friendly environment with a big campus and a huge library.
Tips: Before joining this college students should check for scholarships. The people here are friendly and the professors are fantastic to work with. The course was kind of challenging but you get guidance from professors. It's a really small country and everyone knows each other moreover most of the people are friendly.
Likes (Student Life): The student union, fun events and there are Nubar to the hill as well. There are three different campuses and if you have a DCU ID you can stroll around during free time. Glasnevin campus is huge one St. Patrick's campus is the smallest. They do have cultural events too.
Dislikes (Internships): Not really, internships are pretty tough to get. I did not find any internships related to my course and as I have a good experience I focused more on getting a full time job. But if you can try your luck on LinkedIn to find internships or apprenticeships.

My experience at Dublin City University was wonderful and memorable.
Tips: Students should have some background knowledge about the course and how the job market is for those roles. I got a scholarship of 4000 based on my previous academic scores.
I did my master's completely online as I was in the Covid batch, for which I felt the fee was a bit high. The quality of teaching is very good and I’d recommend it to anybody.
Likes (Post study jobs): I got my job based on my previous experience. However, studying at this university was also an add-on advantage to getting a job. I have worked in two companies after graduation, both sponsored visas for work.
I working in automation testing and my salary was between 35-40k during the first year.
Dislikes (Safety): I have heard from my friends who live in that area that the locality is not very safe. Teenagers bully people and steal from them. I’ve also heard the neighbourhood is very quiet and some students find it difficult to walk alone at times.
Other than that the student accommodation is safe and friendly.

Excellent, approachable, helpful and friendly faculty that motivates us to do good.
Tips: You get to learn a lot of things when you are coming as an international student. There are cultural shifts and also there are many things here that are not the same as in India but we all get adjusted to those things easily. Overall, I am really satisfied.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Very approachable and friendly. Everything theoretical things are shown practically with live examples and also industrial experiences of professors help understand problems more deeply. The helping nature of the faculty motivates us to study and the strict faculty always keeps us on our toes.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The year 2024 is not too good for the job as there are many people and very few jobs. Ireland was not ready for this much intake which has caused trouble here. Very few companies are offering sponsorship and the salary is a minimum of 35,000 Euros per year.

No attendance, good online study portal, and fair grading system.
Tips: No attendance, going to college is optional which is a big plus. Good online study portal to access all the study material. All classroom lecture recordings are uploaded by lecturers and are available by the EOD on the online study portal and there is a fair marking system for assignments.
Likes (Safety): It is a good and safe university to study. However, the surrounding areas are very unsafe to live in. I would suggest upcoming students research more about the unsafe places in Dubin and get accommodation in good areas. Teenagers are causing a big problem in Ireland mainly in a few areas of Dublin. Some mob will come hit you and may cause you severe injuries, but still, you may not get help from anybody including the government and they won't even get punished by law. So choose a good area to live in and travel by bus and with friends mostly.
Dislikes (Internships): We have to apply to companies for internships or jobs. University won't bring any companies like how it happens in India. Some companies will come to the college to advertise their companies and during that time if there are any relevant companies we can ask them and check if there are any jobs available. If yes we have to apply through their company's careers page.

DCU has a great campus with helpful professors.
Tips: I didn't get any scholarship since I applied for this college before I finished my Bachelors. Had I applied it later I would have gotten at least a 2000 Euro scholarship. I am very much satisfied with the country and the courses they provides, the university also as a whole was very good and affordable when I came here.
Likes (Safety): Everything regarding safety is very good for me in this city. The only people who look down are the other Indians in this country since many carry on with an attitude. I don't like to speak to any other Indians except my friends since whenever I approached any other Indians they were rude to me initially.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I don't have a job at the moment since I require sponsorship to stay in this country but given a chance to permanent reside in the country, I would take that chance since it has greater benefits and is very lively. In the initial days I wanted to leave the country but as the time passes you get adjusted to it.

Amazing university, amazing faculty and a huge learning opportunity.
Tips: If someone is joining a technical course, they should be well rehearsed with the technology taught in the course as mostly everything is taught through applied principles. So one should prepare beforehand as it is going to be tough to study a STEM course here.
Likes (Internships): DCU gives opportunities for internships for under graduates and also for Masters. They give opportunities to take internships in their research programs. In my course Intel comes every year, they select 10 students for a job offer and also 3000 Euros scholarship.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food is hard to get as it is expensive and if you cook yourself it will be better. It doesn't depend on the college you choose, for food, you have to learn cooking. Indian cooking material is easily available. Almost everything. For dosa lovers I would suggest bring dosa pan from India and bring cooker as well.
