MSc. in Computing for Data Science - Batch of 2025

Academic oriented and less expensive.
Tips: If you are considering Bangor University, you should be aware that attendance is mandatory. If you miss a class, you will be penalized. Also, some assignments must be completed in class, so skipping class is not an option. Finally, grading is strict, so you must perform well to earn a passing grade. The faculty at Bangor University are friendly and helpful and are available to answer questions by email during business hours. Their offices are conveniently located near the college buildings, and they provide a secure environment for students. Additionally, the university has a computer centre where students can work on assignments and access resources. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): Finding a part-time job is difficult in Bangor. We are facing a lot of financial problems with part-time and transportation costs are high. The only transportation benefit is for those between the ages of 16 and 21, and it only covers a portion of the cost.

Lightening field for every students.
Tips: The university has a serene and calm environment that fosters focused learning. The faculty members' exceptional teaching methods, coupled with the provision of high-quality study materials, have exceeded my expectations. Public transportation in Bangor is generally convenient, with regular bus services connecting the university to the town centre and surrounding areas. However, students may occasionally encounter difficulties travelling to or from campus, particularly during peak hours or in areas with limited bus routes. Overall, the university's supportive atmosphere and commitment to academic excellence have made my time here truly enriching. I am fully satisfied with my experience at Bangor University.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The academic environment at Bangor University is exceptionally supportive, thanks to the faculty's friendly and approachable nature. One notable aspect is the efficient sharing of notes and materials via Outlook, which facilitates easy access to course materials and streamlined communication with instructors. This organized approach to coursework enables students to focus on their studies without unnecessary stress. Moreover, the calm and serene environment on campus provides an ideal setting for concentrated learning, allowing students to immerse themselves in their studies and achieve their academic goals.

Bangor University is easy going and has qualified and highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: Coming to the UK was a dream come true for me. After arriving, it was an eye-opening experience for several reasons. Initially, it was difficult to deal with the different cultures, people, and climates, but I slowly started to learn from it. I came here as a government-sponsored student and also received a scholarship from the university. I am doing a Master's in social policy. Our course is not that complicated, so we don't have exams. Instead, we have assessments for each subject in each semester. My course is very easygoing, and the faculty members are very friendly and accessible. Classes are held three days a week, which allows me to work part-time and attend to personal matters. Overall, I am very happy and satisfied with my experience as an international student. Of course, there are challenges along the way, but they are good for our personal development and future happiness.
Likes (Public transportation): I live in university accommodation, so I don't need to take transportation to campus. I walk. When I go to my part-time job, I take the bus. Public transportation is comfortable and affordable, especially if you buy a daily ticket. Students also get a discount on tickets.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are restaurants and cafes on campus that serve Western cuisine, so it is difficult to find food that is familiar to me. I prefer to cook my own food when I feel like eating something from my home country. Food items that I am familiar with are available in nearby stores, but they are expensive.

Bangor University is the best place for forestry related studies.
Tips: Students should understand the modules really well before joining. If you like the subject, you can enjoy learning it. I am happy to do this course because I like the subject. My communication skills have improved a lot because it is a multicultural university, and my class has students from 16 countries. This allows me to hear a worldly perspective every day in class. I am self-funded, but there are opportunities to avail scholarships. There is a student union called UNDEB that works year-round to improve the student experience. UNDEB sponsors activities for students, such as volunteering and a student fair. There are also many activities sponsored by student societies. The only downside is that if you are taking an intensive course, you may miss out on some of the fun aspects of university life. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, country and the university.
Dislikes (Part time work): The city of Bangor is very small and mostly comprises students. Its an apt nickname as a student city. While there are internship opportunities, finding part-time work is difficult. There are cities nearby where you can apply for jobs, but travel can be a bit tricky.

Bangor University: A safe and supportive community for students.
Tips: Before joining Bangor University, the student should be aware it is a peaceful, close-knit environment with a strong focus on research and excellent support services. The transition to Bangor may involve a cultural shift, especially for those coming from big cities as it is a quieter and nature-friendly town. Scholarships are available on academic merit and financial needs with allowances that cover partial or full tuition fees. The university staff is supportive the place is calm and serene making it ideal for focused study.
Likes (Safety): Bangor is rated highly for safety due to its low crime rate and peaceful, community-oriented environment. This small city is closely knit, creating a secure atmosphere for both residents & students. Bangor is a safe and welcoming place to live and study.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm yet to fall in the PSW category and start the hunt. The course will be over for me in January 2025, as of now I have not started the application process and am unaware of the post-study jobs. This period will be crucial for me as I am still assessing the job market and trying to align my academics with the market demand, especially in my field of study. It is the phase that requires careful planning and preparations.
