A top 10 campus uni in a small city in south west England
Tips: Exeter is a small city, many students who come here assume that it's gonna be as big as London which isn't the case. It is very small and you can literally walk everywhere. The population is mostly dominated by students so it is very safe that way. The faculty is excellent, and you can always reach out to them for any doubts via email or book office hours with any professor. The unique part of studying in Exeter is that the seminars are very hands-on and interactive with other peers as well as the professors.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Exeter is a small city that is easily walkable and is safe for international students. There are a few places that serve good Indian food, including Gandhi and Namaste Exeter. If you prefer to cook at home, you can find Indian groceries at Mess and Heera.

Tips: The university is good, and the staff are helpful. I would advise students to be aware of the scholarships that are available, even after starting the course. Tips: Before joining this college, students should be aware of which course they are choosing and why this university. The cost of accommodation goes up every year, so make sure you have a budget. It's better not to do part-time work and focus on your studies. If you are from India, the university will introduce the topics you have to study on your own. There are lots of events and seminars held for the students to interact and gain some industry knowledge. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the experiences.

There is a lot of potential to explore at the University of Exeter.
Tips: If you're planning to study in the UK and hope to secure a job afterwards, having at least a year of experience in any industry is recommended, as many UK companies expect candidates to have a minimum of one year of experience. I arrived in the UK at the end of September and struggled to settle down with part-time jobs, so I would advise arriving a month earlier. The Christmas period is typically the peak time for part-time job vacancies, especially in retail. A few things you need to know is Sainsbury's has cheap products, look for free stuff at student accommodation and university. Don't forget to apply for scholarships. I received the Global Excellence Award, which granted me 35,000 Dollars. The application process is simple just fill out a form on your university website. Once you're at university, take full advantage of all available resources. These might include employability workshops to enhance job skills and English classes that offer trips on writing assessment, which is particularly useful for those who haven't done project-based work during their undergraduate studies. Stay connected with your lecturers and tutors if you're stuck, reach out to them for help rather than relying on coursemates. Be proactive in participating in university activities and aim to earn awards like the Exeter Award to enhance your CV. During university break, start applying for jobs using platforms like Career Zone & Handshake. Keep an eye out for casual roles like matchday staff positions while they may not pay a lot, they can help cover basic expenses. Healthcare in the UK is generally good, but health insurance doesn't typically cover ENT issues. Make sure you have emergency medicine. Exeter is a wonderful place to start your journey. Likes (Indian Food): If you are a student who can cook, you will be able to find all kinds of cooking essentials in Continental and Heera stores. However, the prices are a bit expensive, so be careful when you are purchasing. If you are a student who prefers to eat out, you will need to adjust to eating the usual store-bought foods. If you are picky, you can go to one of the Indian stores. Restaurant Indian food is very expensive. For example, an onion dosa at Namaste costs 11.50 pounds. So be prepared and eat all your favorite foods before you come to the UK.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are mostly available for Undergraduates, with only 1% for Masters students in Devon. If you are willing to travel, the availability increases to 4%. However, unpaid internships or jobs at the university are beneficial for job hunting.

Tips: I have transitioned a lot in the unicity in so many ways, with good global experience and personal growth. There are so many scholarships depending on the universities and the course which will offer a decent amount of education the amount from the tuition fee which is helpful for the students. The University of Exeter provides a very good quality of studies. The faculty is helpful and well-qualified, especially for international students who do not speak English as a first language. The faculty is especially helpful with studies and the university's academic standards. The student life at the University of Exeter is vibrant and fulfilling. The university has a great reputation and provides amazing student life.
Tips: Students should be on time. Reasons won’t work here for being even 2 minutes late. People respect each other's time here, unlike back in India. Researching scholarships like Common Wealth and other university-funded scholarships will help you reduce your fees. Overall, be ready to self-learn and use university resources as much as possible.
Likes (Part time work): There are plenty of part-time jobs available on and off campus. If you can get an internship or contract work in your field, it will give you good experience and prepare you for your permanent role. You can work part-time at a warehouse, supermarket, or restaurant to cover your living expenses but don't expect to cover your tuition with your part-time earnings.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I rated low on public transportation because of randomly scheduled public bus cancellations without prior notice, thinking it would be ideal to have a private vehicle. The cost is reasonable with day passes sorting you out for part-time jobs. Weekly passes would work out if you travel as often during breaks while working full-time 40 hours.

Tips: Before joining the University of Exeter, it's important to be aware that the campus is located in a relatively small city, so the pace of life is quieter compared to larger metropolitan areas. The university is known for its picturesque setting, surrounded by hills and greenery, which provides a peaceful environment for studying. Transitioning to life at the UoE was a smooth process for me. The university offers excellent support services, which makes the adjustments easier. However, I did experience some cultural shifts. Coming from a bustling city, it took some time to get used to the quieter, more laid-back atmosphere of Exeter. I also did avail of a scholarship for around 35000. The application process is straightforward and easy. There are always many options for scholarships. I am very satisfied with the course and experience I had at the university. And as I am living in a very busy city now, I can say the years I spent in Exeter were the time to remember.
Likes (Public transportation): The university campus is a 15-minute walk from the main city center. I prefer walking because of the beautiful roads, as the campus is surrounded by hills. If we talk about transportation, there is a bus every few minutes from almost every part of the city to the university campus.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Exeter doesn't have as many Indian restaurants as you might find in other cities, but one standout is Namastey Exeter, a South Indian spot that quickly became my favourite. Their dosa are particularly good and reasonably priced. During my time in Exeter, I balanced dining out with cooking at home. For vegetarians, the dining options are most limited.

Dynamic learning and vibrant campus life at the University of Exeter.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should do some background checks and choose the right course. I received an academic scholarship of 35000. I also received a CFA scholarship from the University which helped me to add further value to my academic qualifications. I'm quite satisfied with my course and the University. The professors are very helpful and they want the best for you.
Likes (Safety): The University of Exeter has its own university bus which runs up late at night from the university to the City centre, so travelling back from the university at night was not a safety concern. Other than that, the University of Exeter also has its own night line which helps students in case of any emergencies.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Considering the market and political conditions, not many companies are keen on sponsoring international students. But based on the graduate visa one should be able to get you some relevant work experience. I'm not really sure if I want to permanently shift to the UK considering my interest in the field, and I want to work in various other countries that seem more promising than the UK.

It is a fun student life with lots of events.
Tips: Students should be aware of the culture, lifestyle and understanding the accent. My whole lifestyle has changed now. You don't have to worry about it much because you'll get used to it after coming here. The university also offers some scholarships so make sure you give your best essay and add in all those social efforts you have put in.
Likes (Student Life): Exeter is one good city for having a fun student life. There is no discrimination because when it comes to post graduation it's only international students in most of the classes so it would be pretty good. There would be a lot of events which will go in all around the year and I would suggest not to miss out on them.
Dislikes (Internships): There are guidance available but it depends on how a candidate use the available resources. There is no placement opportunity but they give good amount of guidance from the Career zone. I did not make enough use of it so it took me 8 months to land a job in the UK. But I suggest you to start working early onwards.

Lovely place to study and lot's of places to explore around
Tips: All students who intend to join this university in UK should do a thorough research about the specific program they are interested in. This is important as one university might have a higher rank in the university rankings for a particular course (let's say an MBA) while it might be ranked lower for an engineering program. This university is part of the Russell's group of Universities and has a good overall ranking among other universities in the UK. It's located in the South-West part of England and is not a fast-paced city like London or Manchester. This is also something one could take into consideration while applying. There are big cultural shifts you would observe here but that's alright as people are friendly here. There are scholarships available which you can avail which require mostly an SOP and some other documents.

Tips: I suggest students make friends with locals at university and part-time, for a better understanding of British culture. Students should know about early scholarship opportunities available on the university website. Overall it is a good university though it does not add incredible value to your profile.
Likes (Student Life): There are good well-being services provided by the University which takes into student struggle. They even provided financial assistance for students to cope with inflation pressure. University has cops security and emergency services at all times for students.
Dislikes (Internships): During the course duration, I haven't come across one internship in finance or accounting that the University has provided. Students have to explore outside markets for internship opportunities and chances of being selected are low. Even part-time roles are limited.

You will have to do your own hard work.
Tips: The course is pretty fast paced and extensive, therefore has to be on point from day 1 itself. Exeter is a pretty renowned university and is best in sporting activities. Most of the hard work should be done on your own and expect very little from lecturers. So far the experience is good.
Likes (Safety): Exeter is a very safe city to live in. There is a city watch patrolling the street and I have friends who work late nights and is a very well-connected small and beautiful city. Compared to all other cities in the UK, Exeter is very well known for its low crime rate activities.
Dislikes (Internships): Getting internships is quite hard for students in the UK and I personally don't know any person who has received an internship opportunity. There are part-time opportunities but fewer internships. Internships are generally more hard to find in the UK compared to countries like US but with less capital.

One-of-a-kind experience at the university of Exeter
Tips: In terms of transition, I must say that I have become more independent and have a broader sense of understanding in every aspect. I got a scholarship which was automatically applied to my tuition fees. I am highly satisfied with my university experience in terms of course, placement and one-of-a-kind experience.
Likes (Safety): In my experience, I found Exeter City safe be it the university facilities or public transport and walking on the street late night. Of course this doesn't mean that you can freely roam around at night because every place has pros and cons, so it's better to be responsible. But overall I found it safe as compared to other UK cities.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Due to the recession, the possibility of finding jobs in UK has become quite difficult for freshers. It might be a bit easy for candidates with previous experience in the relevant field. But overall for people passing out in 2022-23 it has become more challenging. It's not impossible but it's a task to get a job, especially with visa sponsorship.

Very professional culture but tough assignments.
Tips: Sufficient knowledge of respective courses before joining because assignments are very tough here and along with the lectures, it is mostly self-studies. There is not much time for assignments, which need to complete in a short period of time. Therefore, sufficient knowledge should be there before coming here.
Likes (Value for money): Excellent student life here. Good educational environment, a beautiful city, and nice and correlative local residents. Assignments are very tough but you can gain knowledge as well, and you will get exposure to programming, and good exposure to research.
Dislikes (Internships): It's tough to get internships here because the interview structure is different than in India. Along with technical skills, they also test many situational-based games to check your presence of mind and adaptivity. Most interviews are online. The first round of technical tests is always a coding test.

Tips: Know your modules and prepare accordingly. The assignments are essay based which can be new to some of us, so look onto them. Also, do not slack off after getting here, search for jobs as soon as possible as they get filled. I have loved the university experience here.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty here understands that we are from a different academic models and help us through our assignments and they are very helpful. You can mail them anytime and fix an appointment to talk and get your doubts cleared, and discuss your ideas as well. I have found this very helpful and supportive.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I have no idea about immigration or settlement here but as far as I know, the harder you try and work to get a job after your course, you will have good chances. It totally depends on you and your hard work. So start applying for graduate programmes and internships from the beginning.

Best decision to choose Exeter!
Tips: The city is small and not big like London or Manchester, so if you like big cities then you might find it boring but other than that, I think everything is nice. The weather here is very moody, and it rains mostly as it is in the south near the coast, so for people who don’t like rain it can be hard to adjust.
Likes (Student Life): The student life is amazing here, the city is very safe and has good places to buy foods or eat out. The city is very green and peaceful. There are number of societies to join in the university and the campus is huge and has everything necessary for the students.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty is amazing, their classes are very interactive and interesting. The academic material provided is also adept and engaging to read. The courses are regularly updated and it’s mapped to equip students to cultivate transferable skills that the employer would want students to have after the graduation.

The availability of part time on-campus is very low and the university is very competitive.
Tips: Students should be aware of cultural differences and have essential life skills like cooking. They also need to be able to manage a 16-hour day with academics, part-time work, and personal obligations. Unfortunately, I did not receive a scholarship because they are very limited and competitive. The people here are generally nice, and there are always security guards and police officers around to keep everyone safe. If you are thinking about moving here, I would say that you should consider it. The city has a lot to offer, and I think you will be happy with your decision. I am very satisfied with my course, university, and the country.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of part-time work on campus is very low, and given the number of students at the university, it's very competitive. Off-campus opportunities are better, and you can usually find a job within a month if you keep applying. The course schedule is a bit hectic, but it's manageable if you have a background in analytics. The average payout is quite good.

Tips: My transition in this country was generally good, but sometimes I encounter difficulties sending money. There is a bit of a cultural shift, but not much. I was awarded a scholarship, but it was not at my university, which makes things difficult. The total cost of living allowances is 250 dollars per week in New Zealand dollars. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Auckland has a lot to offer students. The campus has a wide variety of facilities, including sports facilities, common rooms for eating and sleeping, and computer rooms. The library is housed in a separate building, and the campus is located within a 3km radius of the city centre.
Dislikes (Internships): There are not many internships available, and the available ones are difficult to get. To cover the cost of living, students should apply for scholarships. Another benefit of getting a scholarship is that you can get university housing at half price, and if you live in university housing, your recreation is free.

The city is expensive and it is difficult to find part time job.
Tips: This college is nice, and most of the faculty are really nice. However, some teachers have a very memory-based teaching method, which makes it difficult to learn the concepts that are being taught. Also, Auckland is very expensive, especially rent, so students should do their research on the country and the college before deciding to study here. Finding a job is very difficult, both part-time and full-time, so students should consider all their options, including studying in Australia.
Likes (Indian Food): Auckland has a large Indian community, and as a result, there are a lot of Indian restaurants and grocery stores in the city. Indian restaurants cost about 30-40 dollars per meal. The restaurants are expensive, but if you buy groceries at Indian stores and cook at home, you can save a lot of money. The grocery stores also have a wide variety of Indian ingredients that you can use to cook your own meals.
Dislikes (Part time work): The job market in Auckland is very tough as the country is deep in recession, and there are no part-time jobs. Students might find some casual jobs, but those are one-offs, and the students cannot rely on them. Barely any student in my Cohort has a job yet. It has been around more than 5 months and everyone is just relying on the money from parents. Living costs are through the roof so surviving here as a student is stressful and tough.

Tips: Students should be aware that the coursework here is intensive, so time management is crucial. They should explore the resources available to them such as the library, labs and student clubs. One should also do a thorough research of the cost of living in the respective area. I am also a recipient of the University of Auckland India Achievers Scholarship, which partly covered my tuition fees for a year. I applied by submitting my academic transcripts, statement of purpose and recommendation letters. Overall, I am very happy to be a student here and look forward to gaining work experience after completing my studies.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system in Auckland is very convenient. Buses and trains run frequently and the routes are well-connected to major areas. Students can easily commute to and from campus using a Transportation Card that can be used on all public transport with just a tap. The card needs to be recharged once it gets exhausted.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The University of Auckland has a diverse faculty, but the quality of the teaching faculty varies greatly from department to department. The faculty in my department is comprised of some of the most highly skilled mathematics professors in New Zealand. They are knowledgeable and experienced, and use innovative teaching methods. However, it can be difficult to reach out to them because of the large number of students they have to handle.

Tips: The culture itself is very diverse with a lot of clubs and event always going on. I am, overall, very satisfied with the University of Auckland, the quality of my engineering courses, and the kiwi atmosphere as a whole.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are all easily accessible by email, in-person after classes, and via office hours which they all offer. Teaching methods vary across faculty members however they all ask for feedback and cater to each class to meet the class's wants and needs. The teaching faculty is incredibly diverse in both nationality and gender.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected with the rest of the city, in fact it is in the centre. Public transport is everywhere, and you can use it to get anywhere, however, the prices have gone up, so I highly recommend applying for a Tertiary Study discount.

Overall, I’ve loved my experience here.
Tips: I found the transition easy as everyone was super friendly. I stayed in halls in my first year. I was able to make friends easily, as I have always been a very social person. The halls were the right place for me to be, and I would recommend it to all of you.
Likes (Part time work): I work as a student ambassador and editor of our magazine, both of which pay me around 25 dollars an hour. The work is hectic but manageable. The magazine is a 5-hour-a-week work, and student ambassadors let me pick up shifts according to my convenience.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I usually cook for myself. I just haven't found the best authentic Indian food. I'm sure there are many restaurants, especially outside the city, but I tend to cook at home because I enjoy it more. There are a lot of good Asian restaurants that I often go to.

Stressful but great support from the faculty.
Tips: I have lived in New Zealand for a while, so I did not experience any feelings of cultural change. However, I do believe that within my field of studies, some races can be less privileged than others. On the positive side, there is a lot of support from teaching staff. On the negative side, the workload can be very stressful, especially near the end of the semester. Also, it is becoming increasingly difficult for immigrants to settle in New Zealand. It was difficult for them to come here, but based on more recent times, it is even more difficult for individuals to come here and build a life.
Likes (Student Life): I usually go to class and then get something to eat. Recently, I went to a student market day, which was a lot of fun. There was music playing, and the atmosphere was very lively. Even when I'm just on campus, there's usually music playing, and the atmosphere is always lively. Sometimes I even get free stuff.

A simple university with a diverse range of students and different faculties.
Tips: There wasn't a cultural shift for me. However, some things that are native to New Zealand can be a bit of a shift. The university is a little boring, and the country doesn't have many things to do. On the other hand, the people are very friendly, and it's easy to make friends. The lifestyle is very relaxed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The University of Auckland has a great building and a nice space to work. The faculty members are very diverse. The teaching includes labs, tutorials, and lectures. Most classes have three lectures per week, an hour or two hours long. Commerce labs are one hour long, and science labs are three hours of practical work. Tutorials are one hour long and are held biweekly.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm not sure what the job market was like before the recession, but it's difficult to get an internship these days. Retail stores usually hire people if they have working visas, and sometimes companies offer internships that lead to graduate jobs at "Big 4" companies.

Very limited internship and job opportunities.
Tips: The only thing I would recommend is to practice academic writing and be aware of referencing while completing the assignments. I've seen people being penalized for not citing relevant sources. There are many scholarships available at the University of Auckland but you just have to make sure you put your best foot forward.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants and takeaways available in the city but to cut down on the expenses, I prefer to cook at home. The amount you'll spend on eating out for one time can be enough to cook for 2 days at home. Some restaurants serve food at lower prices for students as they run promotions and offers to attract students.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are a lot of international students coming to New Zealand, so there are more people than jobs. The University does hire students for roles like Students Hub advisor and international students ambassador, but those roles are highly competitive. The part-time jobs available for international students are usually in hospitality, retail, and small businesses around the city and are paid a minimum wage that is sufficient to manage expenses.

The university provides a fun and eventful environment.
Tips: The university does not provide internships or post-study jobs. The students are sent to find work on their own. The university only helps with CV checks and interview trips. There are not a lot of jobs available at this time, so much so that even part-time jobs are hard to find. A lot of students don't pay attention to other students unless they are in a group project with them. Overall, I am satisfied with my university and course but not satisfied with the country.
Likes (Indian Food): There is a large variety of restaurants and convenience stores. They are either cheap or expensive and are near campus. I prefer to cook myself since it is essentially cheaper and I get to eat what I enjoy. Many people choose to spend money on food and it is more expensive near campus because more students will buy from them so they raise prices.

Lively and cordial university in all multidimensional aspects.
Tips: Students should know that there is a huge cultural shift but it's a good one we can adapt easily. I didn't avail of any scholarships because I applied very late for the university but you can check for scholarships on the university website as it is mentioned. Try to opt for part-time opportunities as it helps to cut off on expenses. I'm very much satisfied and content with my experiences at the university.

A bit expensive but good experience.
Tips: Scholarships are tough to get, there aren't enough scholarships for international students. There is a cultural shift for sure. UoA is focused on research so there's a lot of self-study involved compared to the Indian education system. Plus New Zealand has strong cultural roots so good to know about it a little beforehand. The university was good, good course but highly-priced.
Likes (Public transportation): Good connection to university via buses and bike. Plus there's plenty of accommodation around the university so it's east to travel. Public transport isn't the cheapest, students get some discount though. It's easier to purchase your own bike or scooter for better travel experience.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Good chances of getting a permanent residence after your Masters if you land a full-time job. The work visa after Master is for 3 years so most students apply for PR in that time frame. I'd like to permanently immigrate because of the work culture. The pay scale can be better.

Tips: I faced a transition to adapt to a new country's culture and educational system. This transition involved adjusting to a different teaching style, making new friends, and local customs. With time most international students find ways to overcome these challenges.
Likes (Quality of faculty): University faculty is friendly, approachable, and readily available to assist students. They create a welcoming environment for seeking help and guidance in studies and academic matters. They have conducted lectures, discussions, hand-on activities, and technology integration.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are different types of restaurants like casual dinners which cost $10 to $20, cafes cost around 5 to 20 dollars, seafood costs around 20 to 40 dollars. If you are vegetarian or vegan then you should pay 15 to 25 dollars at one-time meal. I generally prefer to cook myself.

Tips: We have to face a huge cultural shift after coming here. The main thing is where you live, which should be near the university, so it will help you adjust early. I did not avail of any scholarship. I am very satisfied with my university course structure and country.
Likes (Value for money): The university's reputation is one of the best across the globe. One cannot justify tuition because it is a perception, not an exact justification. But yes, the teaching and faculty expertise in their subject is excellent. You will get a friendly atmosphere.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The University of Auckland is well-connected with public transportation, and there are a variety of transportation options, including trains and buses. However, public transportation is somewhat costly for international students.

Intense but rewarding. Looking forward to applying what I’ve learned in real life
Tips: I’ve done undergrad in the UK and now master's in New Zealand. I’m pretty comfortable with the cultural shift but one does tend to feel when you shift to a new place. Becomes better eventually.
No scholarships are availed.
Pretty satisfied, the course is intense but manageable
Likes (Indian Food): All kinds of restaurants/cuisines are available since there is a large Asian diaspora here. Prices range from 15-20 for an average-sized meal.
Cooking myself is the best option as it economically better. Eating outside is not sustainable after a point.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of resources/career support from the university regarding this. A lot of career fairs are there as well.
There are relevant internships for my programs however since I have work ex, I’m not looking for that but instead, graduate roles can be a good starting point.
