Irish Education Experience

Tips: University of Galway is the third-best university in Ireland. The campus is amazing, with over 100 hectares of land. Galway is a beautiful cultural town, and Ireland is a very peaceful and scenic country. The course I took was a well-balanced combination of technical and business knowledge. The only downside was the weather, as it rains a lot and the weather conditions can be extreme.

Likes (Safety): Galway City is amazing and safe. However, there are a few things to be aware of. Be wary of Facebook scams related to house rentals. Some scammers will ask for a deposit without even showing you the house. Avoid walking alone at night, especially in certain shady areas. Stay away from the teenage crowd.

Dislikes (Internships): I found my internship via the gradireland website. There are several websites that can help you in your job search, but you need to start applying as soon as you arrive in Ireland. The university also holds job fairs on campus that can help you introduce yourself to potential employers.

Tips: It was definitely a challenging transition for me and my family. It takes some time to adjust to any new country, but this transition taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of balance in my personal and professional life. Salary depends on job profile and experience. Most companies don't sponsor work visas. Freshers can expect an offer between 28,000 and 35,000. Experienced candidates may get a higher salary. Some people get jobs right away, but others have to keep looking. It takes a lot of effort to find a job in this field. Overall, I am satisfied with my university, course, and country.

Likes (Indian Food): I cook at home because Indian restaurants are expensive. There are Indian stores here that sell spices, pulses, and vegetables, and you can also find Indian food at Tesco supermarket.

Tips: A lot of changes have happened to me after coming to Galway. Right from my personality to my thinking perspective. The culture of Galway is very welcoming and friendly. In the case of scholarships, I didn't receive any, but there are schemes available for which students can apply. Ireland is a very beautiful country and as Galway is its cultural capital, many fests take place now and then.

Likes (Internships): The University of Galway has a website and sends weekly emails that list internship opportunities. Students can easily apply to these opportunities. There are many internship options available in every field. In addition, the university hosts career fairs where students can meet with representatives from their preferred companies.

Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus jobs are like IT help desk and library assistant. Off-campus jobs are more varied and depend on your field of interest. If you manage your time well, you can have a part-time job and still keep up with your studies. The average pay for part-time work is around 12-13 euros.

The availability of part-time jobs is quite good, and there are many different types of part-time jobs that you can get easily. You just have to ask the owner. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience.

Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook at home because it saves money. There are a lot of Indian restaurants here, but they don't serve food that is as good as what you can cook at home. Also, they charge a lot for Indian food.

Tips: Accommodation details need to be verified before coming here. You have to book first by joining several accommodation groups. Or else you have to meet some senior people and have to refer to some accommodation details. Also, verify it once by viewing it before paying any advance money.

Likes (Internships): We have to find internships on our own by applying at various sites. Some of the internships will be organised by the university and some have to be researched by us. Internships are good options to earn better than part-time jobs here in Ireland. Also, it adds good experience to my personal portfolio.

Dislikes (Part time work): I found it easy to find a part-time job that I could easily manage alongside my studies. The average hourly rate is 12.70 Euros, and you can work up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during holidays.

Likes (Permanent Immigration): I'm just glad that I got admission to the University of Galway. There's always something to do, whether it's going to a college event or just walking around town. It is a happing place specially made for students and the nightlife on the streets of Galway is amazing.

Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty at this college is excellent, and they don't spoon-feed you at all. It's hard at first, but you get used to it and start to enjoy the education. The PPTs make it easy for every student to understand the material.

Likes (Value for money): The campus size and facilities are outstanding, and the library and pods for self-study are great. The career guidance is the best part of this university, and it's worth spending a huge amount of money on education in Ireland.

Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The education system in India is very different from that in Europe. In India, we are used to being spoon-fed information. But in Europe, it's all about self-study. So it's difficult for Indian students to adjust to the European education system.

Tips: It is really difficult to find off-campus accommodation. The university is easygoing, and there are many events happening on campus, so overall it's good. However, I searched for a part-time job for about 30 days before I found one.

Likes (Indian Food): I am from India and love spicy food. Europe is not known for its spicy food, so I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to find the spices I like. But I was wrong. There are many Asian and Indian stores where you can find the ingredients you are looking for.

Dislikes (Public transportation): The place where I am living right now is Moycullen which is 10km away from the university and there is only 1 bus from Moycullen to the city centre and the frequency is too low. It is one bus every 3 hours so most of the time you have to adjust yourself according to the bus timetable.

Tips: Before joining, students should have some experience related to the field they are choosing. I didn't get any scholarships, but they are available on a merit basis. There are very few part-time jobs for freshers, so experience in your field is a must. You'll also find a significant cultural shift here. Overall, I'm satisfied with my course, university, and country.

Likes (Public transportation): There are buses which are 10-15 minutes apart from each other. As the campus is in the middle of the city, you will find each bus taking you to the university bus stop. If you are living far away, you can avail train journey too. Also, if you have your student card, your bus ticket gets reduced by 60%.

Dislikes (Value for money): When you arrive at college, you get to know that it's pretty hard to find part-time jobs as everyone is searching for the same and the city is pretty small for so many people to have part-time jobs. The same can be said the case when you complete your graduation too.

Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that the French language is mandatory to get a job. Also, students should do good market research in the specifications they're going to do their masters degree in. For students with good experience, a one-year masters degree is a good option.

Likes (Public transportation): When it comes to public transportation, buses run on time and there are direct buses from the city to campus. Students can travel and reach their destination on time, and the fares are economical. If you want to go to Paris, trains and buses are available, and student discounts apply.

Dislikes (Part time work): The campus in Rouen City has very few part-time job opportunities. Also, employers prefer French speakers, and learning French takes time. Finally, some part-time jobs pay so little that students are not interested in working them. These factors combined to make it difficult for students to find part-time work that meets their needs.

Tips: Students should know that language is a must to get involved in the culture and it will be easy to find internships and work also we can learn the language as it's the top 5 languages spoken worldwide. That will make us explore a lot of events such as parties, fairs, arts, etc. The other thing would be to read or have a slight idea about accounts. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience.

Likes (Value for money): The studies are more practical based and also it is affordable than the big cities and the transport is 9 Euros for 10 rides. We can also explore different parts of France through a community called Erasmus where they take weekend trips, conduct parties every week etc.

Dislikes (Indian Food): It is hard to find good Indian food in Rouen that's why I gave 2 star for food. The best way is to cook and eat. But we get other fast food and in cheaper options such as McD, Burger King etc. and also it is expensive to buy indian grocery there comparatively.

Tips: Students should learn the French language up to C1 before joining any college. Try to apply for a scholarship through CAF for house rent. A scholarship for lunch is also available for Crous students. French is mandatory up to C1 to get internships in France. University won't help with career opportunities for non-French speaking students.

Likes (Public transportation): Transportation is well-connected. Have to pay fines up to 50 Euros if tickets are not paid. Travel in Rouen is easier through buses and trams. It is easier to connect through Paris airport or travel by train for longer distances, and the transportation may cost up to 50 Euros.

Dislikes (Part time work): It is difficult to get part-time work without language skills. French is mandatory everywhere. I have applied through websites for better part-time jobs, but locals are preferred over foreigners. They pay more to locals than foreigners. Availability for jobs is only during peak season.

Tips: Yes, there are many cultural shift I experienced but everything was on a very positive side, I connected with very French people and yes I got the internship. I got that from the university itself. I am very happy and satisfied with course and the country. It is giving new edge to my life.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is top notch. You can reach anywhere just using google maps and understand the metro system. I traveled everywhere just using the google maps and city metro app. It has everything, but France have very weird system of age. If you are older than 26 yrs, you have to pay double the amount of every transport, which is very frustrating.

Dislikes (Part time work): Because of language it is very difficult to find any part time job in France and even if you speak French most of the places don't consider you for the part time. Maybe because the quality of French we speak is not upto the mark however, it might not be the case everywhere.

Tips: If you do not speak French then it's pretty hard to mix with other students in the university as they all speak French. It's fun but sometimes you feel out of place and there are many student associations but mostly the language is French. I did not avail of any scholarship for this programme however I was offered one based on merit for GBBA at NEOMA. I am quite satisfied with the country and the university however the programme does have a few flaws.

Likes (Public transportation): Reims is a pretty small city and very well connected. The campus is pretty close to the city centre. There are trams and buses. The cost is around 30 per month for students. It's very convenient as there are many buses running on different routes. There is an app where you can get real-time information on bus timings.

Dislikes (Part time work): It's a must to have at least a conversational level of French to get a part-time job. I don't know much about it because I have never really tried to find one. The course load is not that much so I believe it's easy to manage work along with academics.

A preferable option for non business students to enter the business field.

Tips: Students should be open to exploring and knowing the language is a bonus for social interactions. Scholarships are given quite often even though I didn't receive one, a lot of my peers have benefited from it. There are a lot of aids provided for students like groceries, accommodation, grooming services etc.

Likes (Safety): It's a well-guarded community and totally safe environment. Only students, staff and authorized people are allowed to enter the campus premises. Checking is done of each individual before entering. There is a department completely dedicated to facilitating student needs.

Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer cooking myself as I don't eat meat. Most of the options available are meat based. However, there are few vegetarian options available on campus which I prefer to indulge in sometimes when I'm tired of cooking. There are cafes, and restaurants all over the cities serving a variety of cuisines right from Asian, and French, to fast foods.

Learning experience at Neoma Business School

Tips: The most important thing that I would emphasize the most is learning French language at least to a level where you can speak and understand at least most of the basic vocabulary happening around you else it is very challenging. Even though the classes and all the people in the university speak English however in order to survive outside the college, this skill is very essential. In terms of my personal transition, I developed my French skills from a beginner to an upper intermediate level now where I can speak and understand most of the things people speak around me. At the time of my admission, I received a scholarship of 2500 euros. Overall I am satisfied with my stay and educational experience in France.

Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees for Neoma Business School is quite at par with all other high-ranked business schools across France. Also given the quality of academic services like faculty, library, High-quality academic case studies as well as access to various professional skill building activities.

Dislikes (Part time work): The part-time job opportunities in France are subject to your proficiency in French language. There are a decent amount of part-time opportunities in various restaurants, small stores etc. In my city, their primary and most mandatory requirement is to have an advanced level of fluency in French.

Tips: It's a great transition in my lifestyle. Of course you have to change cultures. Because it's French culture you've to learn that after reaching France. For example, you've to say Bonjour while entering a store. I didn't get any scholarships but the options are there. I am satisfied with my university.

Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty of Neoma are very good professionals in their fields. Everything is experiential when you're learning, hands-on practices, they also help us with career guidance for our future. You'll get great knowledge while studying in Neoma. So good faculty.

Dislikes (Part time work): Getting a part time job is a bit tough in this city if you don't know French language. Opportunities are there but we need to speak French. We have to apply for a lot of job offers to get one. I'm still trying to find a part-time job. If you're in Paris you'll get a job easily.

Overall, I feel it's one of the top institutions for studying MIM and it's worth going for.

Tips: I applied for scholarships and I even got one. It's been a rollercoaster ride since I have arrived here. But I think it's all worth it in the end. Got to learn a lot of new stuff and looking forward for more such experiences. Before joining, you should know that it will be difficult doing all of this alone, but it's worth it, trust me.

Likes (Internships): Student life here in France, as well as around the university campus is worth experiencing. There are various student associations that we can take part in, also the Erasmus club is fun! What I personally enjoy the most is, the campus fun as you interact with a diverse background.

Dislikes (Part time work): I appreciate the teaching faculty here; they possess a deep understanding about the subject and are incredibly supportive. The course is both theory and practical, they give us timely assignments to check our level of understanding. There are students from all over the world which makes it more interesting.

A bewildering journey to seek for something in life.

Tips: If you're coming to NEOMA, to be honest, it's because you haven't given GMAT or any competitive exams as such. And NEOMA is the best option available in terms of ranking. So I'd say, NEOMA is the best option you have but it's also not the best simultaneously. There's definitely a cultural shift though. The weather is very cold all the time, especially in Normandie region. It's dark and gloomy all the time and there's barely any sunlight, but, it's still fun. I have so many French friends and mingling with them might not be very easy at first, as you should know, since French people barely understand English they don't really make efforts voluntarily to interact with international students. You must work your way through them. Otherwise, it might get pretty lonely. Because there's not a lot to do in Rouen. Everything shuts off by 19 hours. Everything is completely shut on a Sunday. It's bizarre, but it grows on you. I'm not quite satisfied with my course here. I'm still in my M1 right now and not sure about how I'm going to get my internship and how is the M2 programme in NEOMA, so. The quality of education is actually a lot better in India, not kidding. Especially the faculty members. The only difference (maybe good for some) is the exposure that you get, the diversity you get to experience in the class, and the everyday hustle. It feels foreign, but like I said, one gets used to it eventually. It's my strong opinion that if one is opting for NEOMA, immigration would be one of the main criteria they'd be fulfilling. An easy (perhaps expensive) gateway to Europe. I sometimes wish if I had more time and had thought this through and if I could have taken GMAT and appeared for better schools like EDHEC, ESCP and ESSEC (not that NEOMA isn't good, but that'd be better, right).

Likes (Public transportation): The transportation in Rouen is actually pretty good, I'd say. Although, the frequency of the buses drops during the weekend and every night too. I think for Indians if we compare, the cost of public transport is pretty high. For students under 26 years, it is 29 per month (which includes buses and metro) in and around Rouen city. It is not really affordable, but it is what it is. If one earns in euros, one could afford this though.

Dislikes (Part time work): There are close to no on-campus part-time jobs, at least for the Indian students. Off-campus too, you need to know and understand French otherwise it is very difficult (but not impossible though). I work in a part-time job 3 days a week during the weekend and one of my free days during the school week. I'm able to manage both my academics and job though. The minimum wage is 12 and after tax it'll be 11.72. But many times, the employers don't pay the minimum wage, but less than that (around 9 in hand). So be careful and know your rights.

Nice college. With good French language skill you can study quickly and with an affordable price.

Tips: Learn French. It is mandatory not just in Neoma, but in France. Never ever come without knowing French. You will face a lot of problems. You will see other students with less or no skills get placed quickly, but you having work experience, knowledge and skills will remain for some time.

Likes (Public transportation): Both campuses were easily accessible by transportation (bus and tram). There is a train station near the campus with which it is easy to go to the centre even during strikes. With the train, one can even travel to other cities. City bus and tram can be accessed by pass which now cost 30 euros per month.

Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Faculty were accessible. Most of the professors are French with minimal or no knowledge of teaching in English. It's hard to understand them. Again there are a few professors with good skills. Regarding the qualifications, all of them have either experience in the field they are teaching or their own firm.

Tips: It was not a good decision to choose this school. They do not help in getting any internships/jobs. We have to find all by ourselves (it's pretty tough to get one). We had to work really hard to find an internship or a job (meaning applying to 50 jobs per day). If somebody wants to work in France or even study in France, he/she should be fluent in French and should know their culture well.

Good university with multi-dimensional experience.

Tips: Learning French is of utmost importance to get accepted and integrated into society. Would make it very easy to get part-time jobs and full-time opportunities. Most of the courses on campus is being taught in English so would not be difficult to complete your semester's assignments.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation facility is exceptional in terms of connectivity, maintenance, and hygiene. Also for International students facility of a day/month tour pass is also available which can be availed at bare minimum prices. Stations are located at a walking distance of 5 minds not more than 3 blocks away which makes it easier to board.

Dislikes (Part time work): International students face a lot of difficulties to get equal opportunities to work part-time as compared to students hailing or studying from French speaking domiciles or who have learned French as a language. Recommend all the students planning to study in France to learn French which would give them better options as a student.

The college, curriculum, teachers and student life is really nice.

Tips: You need basic French to survive in the city. And you should do some certificate courses and internship experience to get the internship here. It's quite challenging to get an internship. Improve your LinkedIn profile and your CV to get an internship. College will not help with the internship.

Likes (Safety): There are 1-2 areas which are not safe, rest of the city is quite safe. You can walk late at night as well. You get the night buses one in an hour starting from 12 am, else you can walk or you can book a can through bolt or uber. There are students everywhere.

Dislikes (Part time work): Reims is a very small city so, if you don know French then it will be a very big problem to find part time work. You won't find many people who speak English. There are some Indian restaurants but they are too small, so they also do not need the help.

Amazing but a little disappointing.

Tips: If you are going to France learn the language. The college is very nice. City is amazing you will have fun and you will learn a lot of new things. People are amazing, Reims is a historical city, there are a lot of things to see and do.

Likes (Student Life): The city is very safe, convenient and student friendly because everything is in walking distance and Reims is a very clean city and has close to no crime and hate for international students. There are good restaurants, amazing bar and clubs.

Dislikes (Part time work): The scope of part time job is close to nill in France for English speakers unless you can clean dishes in Indian restaurants there which are very handful. You will only get a part time job there if you can speak good level of French. If you don't speak French you have zero chance of getting a part time job.
