University of Reading: Home to new experiences! Become bold and confident.
Tips: Be more open to new environments, cultures, and academic styles. Joining different clubs can make the transition easier.
Received a scholarship of £4000 by applying to centenary and subject scholarships through the university website.
The structure for the course is good but I wish it included more practical work throughout course.
Likes (Indian Food): Lot of options for Indian food, and Indian grocery stores are also available within a reasonable distance. Many restaurants offer Indian food and are also suitable for vegetarians. I was also lucky enough to be able to do part-time in an Indian restaurant as part of the front office.
Dislikes (Internships): Although the university publishes opportunities that are available for students, they are most often not for master’s students and very less opportunities for overseas students. And as an international student, you will not be able to apply for internships due to work permit restrictions.

Good college and value for money.
Tips: I have become a more responsible person once I reached here. In terms of knowledge, I can say I have gained practical experience in different domains which were new to me. I did get a scholarship of 3000 pounds and that was based on my IELTS score and I can say I am fully satisfied with it.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is quite approachable. They give out their time when the students can actually go out to them and ask queries. Diversity in teaching style and methodology is present as various methods are taught for the same subject and it enhances our knowledge.
Dislikes (Internships): In terms of applying for the internships, the help is given by the university. Also Reading being closer to London gives the opportunity to apply for jobs in a wider range of companies and in various domains. Some internships are indeed present in the field of study.

Course modules are good for this course
Tips: Make sure to have knowledge of modules before joining. Professors only read the ppts they have made, we have to apply those practically to understand. Exam patterns/assignments are different than what we have in our country. So you have to make extra efforts to excel in the course modules.

Hardships of the International students in the UK.
Tips: Coming to the UK at this time of recession and spending so much money on university fees is not so worth it. But if money is not a factor for you to worry about and you want to learn more then UOR is great. If you are lucky you might get a job by trying hard. But then the salaries they offer you might not be enough for your monthly survival or what we at least expect to get after completing a degree and spending tons of money.
Dislikes (Indian Food): It is not so easy to find a suitable job in the UK as a graduate even for an entry-level job they expect you to have experience for 3 years and if you find a job then you will need a sponsorship from this company to stay here which is another big challenge.

Genuine Review of my experience
Tips: You can expect the best possible university experience. But you should be prepared to work hard and be independent and self-reliant. Friendly atmosphere, great faculty, excellent laboratory equipment, Great Modules, top class Library, workshops and practical work.
Likes (Public transportation): Public Transportation in Reading is superb. Cheap and readily available. 24/7 bus service to all parts of reading town. There is a bus which will directly take you to the Campus. You will get a bus every 15 minds. You can get bus pass for a week or monthly at affordable price.
Dislikes (Internships): The are guidance available. But there is no placement cell for my department. There are no internships available for students who passed out. That's one issue. We often get job and career fares, but they mostly help us to interact with people from different companies. But they don't really hire you.

Very good faculties, supportive staffs and a good library.
Tips: Make sure you have a clear idea of the course you're going to do, book your accommodation beforehand and view your accommodation in person before you book it. There are placement years available look into those courses too and they do have a team to help you with your interview and finding part-time jobs. The faculty are helpful so you can reach out to them without any hesitation. Do participate in activities and clubs as it will help you to connect with people. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course and country.

The university is quite good as well as the faculty.
Tips: The students should be ready for culture shock. There is a lot of cultural shift but one can do that at one's own pace. Scholarships are available up to 32500 and I am satisfied with my university. One last thing, everything boils down to you and how you do it so come prepared.

Education & Experience at DMU is worth it.
Tips: Clarity on course and career is absolutely important . DMU has vide options of subjects to offer from different fields. Students must research and understand post-study work opportunities before making decisions. DMU in general offers a very welcoming and inclusive environment to its students, making the entire transition process easier. Student communities and faculty at campus are extremely helpful and supportive. One can find a lot of Indians in general on campus and in the city. The overall experience at DMU was satisfactory and worthwhile.
Likes (Public transportation): Campus is situated at the heart of the city, well connected with various facilities in the city. Healthcare facilities can be found on campus, public transportation is easily accessible and affordable. Entertainment and shopping centres are within walking distance. Bus and train stations are easily accessible through public transportation.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): UK in general has various graduate job opportunities. Immigration and settlement opportunities depend on prevalent policies. Currently, there is 2 2-year Post-study work visa, which is favourable for students. Post masters work opportunities are relatively easier than post-bachelor.

From School to University- an experience.
Tips: Coming to DMU Dubai opened my perspective much more than school. Shifting to a UK curriculum from CBSE gave me more freedom to use my time better. Moreover, the academics were now more practically based than CBSE's typical theory. Communication with international students gives you exposure to the real world and helped me learn how to deal with people on a daily basis. I availed 30% academic scholarship for getting 90+ in boards. Moreover, they offer several school, early bird and sibling discounts as well. I'm satisfied and working to make my university as lively as possible for myself and my university fellows. As part of the student council, I work to conduct more interactive events for all students. Celebrate festivals for all cultures, hold clubs to invite other universities, we do it all. I'm satisfied with what my course is offering and the facilities given by the professors and management. From short classes to internships to workshops and seminars my course aids me to learn the best to be prepared for the outside world.
Likes (Safety): Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world. The people are very comfortable in using the campus as well as roaming the city even in late night hours. Even if you may need small help from the people in the city in case of emergency, it is very safe, for example, if you don't have a phone, strangers would be polite to offer you their phones to make calls.
Dislikes (Internships): Our university offers summer internships to support the students as well as throughout the year. However, sometimes the internships would be less compared to the people and given to the people who need the most or those who have the most experience. The internships may also be unpaid sometimes or not available if your course is a complex one.

The university is amazing because they will give you a lot of exposure about everything.
Tips: Students should know that then they should opt for genuine websites for accommodation and should not go for something from Facebook. As there are a lot of scams going around generally. There are a lot of scams going on here that they should be aware of and the police system is not doing a lot about this issue.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is just awesome and extremely supportive. They are very experienced and can give you a lot of insight. They are like mentors and not nagging teachers who're going to be at your throat. Some might be like that but so far I have not encountered someone like that in the faculty.
Dislikes (Part time work): All the students are struggling to find any part time jobs. The economy is struggling. I found a job as a student ambassador but that only gives me two hours a week and if you plan on depending on a part time job then I would suggest please don't come here.

A wonderful place to study!
Tips: De Montfort University is a wonderful place to study at. It is a very welcoming place and the lecturers/staff are very friendly and kind. The buildings are quite easy to get to but even if you can't find your way, there's always help available. There are so many societies/clubs to join, you are literally spoiled for choices. All societies are amazing and there is one for everyone to join (Although it's not a must). The campus is also quite accessible and accommodating, there are prayer rooms available and it is also made approachable for wheelchair users. The lecturers and personal supervisors are always on standby for students when they are in need of help, they're there for guidance and support, you can approach them for any matter and they will try their best to help you. Also, De Montfort university is right next to the city centre, so there is a wide range of opportunities and food options, including Indian, Chinese, Italian and so much more. It is the right place full of culture and you'll fit right in.

Easy bus and subway access - bus around is 5 pounds return and subways 3 pounds per day.
Tips: Being an international student, I expected to take time to settle in Scotland. To my surprise, everything looked easier as soon as I landed there. People were friendly, college services cut down my living expenses and budgeting, and professors were approachable.
