BSc in Applied Physics - Batch of 2026

The top 2 best University choices for an international student in Saskatchewan.
Tips: I am more open-minded after these 2 years here, which is due to the fact that I live among people who come from different backgrounds and have varying perspectives on everyday matters. However, I believe a person must have self-discipline and maturity otherwise they will get carried away in this culture. I received a 3k CAD international entrance scholarship because of my good scores in IELTS and 12th Grade.

I am very happy that I got placed in Public University of Canada.
Tips: When I moved here, I faced a cultural shift but in good way. I learnt many things from students of different regions. There are lots of opportunities for scholarships. And my academic is 4/4 gpa, so I got it. Just maintaining the GPA will help in getting scholarships. Overall, I am totally satisfied with my University.

Value for money where students must be independent
Tips: One must be ready to take the initiative, look for opportunities, and network on their own to get the maximum benefits of studying at the university. There are activities happening all around the campus and one must stay updated on them by checking university campus groups and uregina mail. Same goes for internships and job opportunities either through campus placepro or through campus job fairs.
Likes (Value for money): The fee for CS comes down to around 3500 CAD per semester which is very economical as compared to all other universities in Canada. The campus has all the latest facilities and access expected from a modern university. The value for money is excellent here.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The quality of professors is a mixed bag to say the least. Some of the professors prepare their own course structure and assignments and try to innovate ways to educate with the latest tech curriculum relevant to the industry. However, there are others in the CS faculty who reuse content from other universities and care more about attendance than learning.

Complete waste of money.
Tips: My advice to you is that do not join this university if possible. They raise the fees by 2.5% every year and the standard of university isn't high. The professors are not good in most of the classes. You'll feel like it is not worth studying at all if you take any class with them.
Likes (Indian Food): With the increase in Indian and Asian population in the city, there are a lot of options for both Indian and Asian food here. In mostly every section of the city, you'll find some Indian restaurant of good quality. Though you'll have to drive around a bit but you'll find it in no time.
Dislikes (Safety): It is not the safest place at all. With a lot of indigenous people living in the city, it has become really difficult for brown skin people like us to live. They are not threat to us mostly but there are a lot of cases of theft and attacks on people, and the victims are mostly international people. Indigenous people are accused of doing it most of the times.

Fantastic learning experience!
Tips: If students want to join this college then they must go through the college website and read each and every section very carefully, like their fee structure, on the job placements, student life, internships and post course job opportunities, etc.
Likes (Part time work): In my opinion, job opportunities during the whole course were very high. Those who are willing to work can work without any hurdle. I myself did a part time job while studying. So, I am very much sure that anyone can get a job very easily if he/she wants one.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, this college is charging quite high money. If the fee structure is less then it will become a fantastic college. I hope if the college charges lesser amount then it will definitely help the students who have average family background.

University of Regina has is good with understanding and supportive faculty
Tips: I was very satisfied with my university, course, and country. However, I did not receive any scholarships. If you are considering studying abroad, be sure to apply for scholarships both with the university and the government. Also, be prepared for a difficult transition period after you arrive.
Likes (Indian Food): I spend most of my day studying and meeting with friends to discuss life. There are many events organized on campus, and I often participate. There are also many student clubs and communities, as well as student unions. The campus is very diverse, and you'll make many friends there.
Dislikes (Part time work): The faculty are always approachable. They try to teach more with a practical approach. very diverse teaching faculty. The faculty will help you throughout but they want you to ask questions so they can help you learn.

The University campus is warm and welcoming.
Tips: Students should try to plan things ahead, gain some knowledge, and watch related YouTube videos on the college tour and reviews by past students. Read your course description and try to map out your future professional aspect. I have always felt very safe. The people are very nice and friendly, and they are always there to help you out. Try to go for a degree, as it is a minimum requirement for most of the future professional destinations in Canada.

Seneca is perfect for your career growth. It's well known and holds a solid reputation.
Tips: If you are actually serious about your course, only then choose this college. They are strict about studies and assignments and if this is just something you want to do on the side, Seneca may not be for you. You will have to genuinely invest your time in each course and assignments.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Each and every professor is well established in the industry and is always available for advice etc. The professors hold good qualifications and are generally understanding and sympathetic towards international students. The teaching method is similar to all Western schools. Make sure you figure out how to write a research paper at least before moving.
Dislikes (Student Life): Seneca has a variety of student programmes but not limited to food banks, cultural associations and other sports etc. One would mostly spend their time working on assignments and research since you would be swamped with them. You would love the promotional events and even win prizes from time to time just by hanging out at the campus.

My University Review in the context of the covid era.
Tips: Since I joined this university during covid era. Hence for me, there is not any cultural shift as I studied online. But there are scholarships provided to students here. For me, the overall experience was quite good and the curriculum is relevant. But as per the reports, the majority of students at my university are Indian only. So, I personally don't think there will be any certain cultural shift.
Dislikes (Student Life): I joined this programme at my university in Covid haul. So, I personally never got a chance to visit the college and roam around the campus. So for me, my student life is somewhere not very satisfying. It could be better if I have joined the college before/after covid era.

It has been a great experience till date
Tips: One should have a clear picture of the courses the college provides. About the faculty and how the admission process works especially if you are from anywhere outside. You should study a little about the culture, what services the college provides in terms of accommodation, scholarships etc
Likes (Student Life): Student life is good. You can enroll yourself in extracurriculars and the surroundings and people around you are very generous. Being from India, I haven't faced any issues to date. Work life balance is there. You have time to explore things around you.
Dislikes (Part time work): Faculty is really nice. They help us understand the concepts well. Faculty is supportive and very knowledgeable. They provide you with assignments and projects regularly to learn more about the concepts. They provide you with refreshers whenever required.

Seneca a journey to live and to explore next pathway of your life!!
Tips: Bring your own stationary and anything essential that would help you academically and save your time and money from roaming here and there and looking for stuff of your use. Do pack small quintessential stuff that one might forget but they have to be with you.
Likes (Student Life): The college life is quite fascinating over here. Because people from all over the world are present here and we get to know about each others cultures and languages. The people over here are quite friendly but be careful while choosing friends because some people may take advantage of your kindness and naivety.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Because of the lack of spices and people here have less spice tolerance the food here is not that good. Hence I have to cook at home mostly and I usually don't have much time left to take rest since most of the time left I have to look for groceries and plan what my next meal should be. That is the reason I feel there is a lack of food options from my country of origin.

Amazing college , perfect for Indian students
Tips: Well it’s very important for every student to be dedicated towards his hard work and success because this college has a lot of competition and students in this face a lot of study related problems. Also, you must complete assignments on time this college is very punctual.
Likes (Safety): Seneca is located in Toronto and it’s very safe place being an international student I faced many problems with part time job and my timings but I never felt alone or I never felt afraid because in this area there is always a hustle bustle so you are safe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Being an international student it’s very difficult to deal with settlement for that it’s very important to get post study jobs but I chose diploma and it’s very difficult to get a job after diploma so I suggest if you are applying to college must apply for degree

Life at Seneca is perfect considering the academics as well as non academics.
Tips: If you are joining from India, make sure that you know a little of your subjects and it would be great if you have some contacts in Seneca before joining it. Seniors are helpful and you may take their help in career guidance or ask them about anything other than the college itslef.
Likes (Post study jobs): If one knows a little about the Software Development area, then one knows that this sector provides lot of jobs for the passionate developers. Since the quality study material and hands-on learning experience are there at Seneca, the post study job rate is quite good.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty at Seneca at my campus is not that much great compared to what I expected. Moreover there are too many activities to conduct that makes it difficult for the students with their part time jobs as sometimes they cannot do both the tasks simultaneously. The cafe food is not up to the mark.
