Bachelor of Business Administration - Batch of 2026

Transformative journey to confidence and skills at Fraser Valley University.
Tips: Before joining Fraser Valley University I was very underconfident. However, my experience here has been transformative. I took part in almost all events, which helped me to step out of my comfort zone and engage with diverse groups. The student company programme was particularly impactful allowing me to gain valuable skills in marketing. Over time, my involvement in various activities and programs significantly boosted my confidence and improved my public speaking abilities. The only advice I would want to give to future incoming students is that we have ample opportunities ready it's on you to take that chance and participate in them.

Great contributor to personal & professional growth.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that there is a significant difference between the Canadian and Indian education curriculum. This difference can cause a cultural shift that can be difficult to adjust to. It is important to stay focused on your courses and assignments and meet all deadlines. Exams can be stressful, but if you know where you stand, you will be fine.
Likes (Student Life): There are so many fun activities on campus, and people are always there to share problems with. There are also so many facilities such as counselling, internships and student clubs. There are programs such as student magazines, and student company programmes that teach you how real companies work.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The public transportation system in the city where the college is located is quite bad, especially for those who come from a distance. The transportation system in Canada is much better. In the city where the college is located, the transportation system is of poor quality, cabs are expensive, and there is a lot of traffic during peak office hours.

A very good college to be a student of
Tips: Canada is a good country for Indian students. Average students also do good. Fee is not that much compared with other Canada colleges. I got no scholarship myself. Semester wise fees has to be deposited and teachers are from many countries China, France, UK which is very good. I don't know about the job because I have just started. It is more expensive than India but part-time job helps so much to lessen the burden.

Affordable yet good university.
Tips: The campus here at Abbotsford is not that big, the university as compared to other universities is small in size but it is good only because you get to interact with people more while you see them everyday. Class size is small so there is more individual attention, professors who taught me were very knowledgeable and practical, knowing how it works in the industry. There is Tim Hortons in the campus where you can sit and enjoy with your friends, library is well-equipped. There are books out of the syllabus too. I'll prefer you to stay outside campus only there are not many options for on-campus housing. Culture here is very diverse and everyone is good. If you want to study in a university with affordable fees and good facilities in Canada then you should take admission here.

Fun and loving student life.
Tips: There was a slight cultural change but not that much. It was easy for me to cope with everything. I did not get or apply for any scholarships but I am fully satisfied with my university and the country which is Canada and the province is British columbia.
Likes (Safety): The university provides 24/7 security and counselling and other facilities too. I had a good experience cause every student in the university is willing to help others. Just to brief it that even if it's late and you are roaming outside and you need any help, the security guards are present and students will help you.
Dislikes (Internships): There are not as many internship options available at my university. But the thing is that my university regularly sends me internships and openings offers depending on the courses and requirements. A student can apply for the position by passing an interview and other procedures.

Post-graduate work permit is not available so choose wisely.
Tips: As of February 2024, this college is a Public-private college which basically means you will not get a postgraduate Certificate if you are planning September 2024 intake or after. You must know that you are on your own in terms of getting your field knowledge and most of the professors will not provide any help to boost your field knowledge.
Likes (Indian Food): Toronto is financial capital of Canada and as a result, you will see people from different countries and from different backgrounds so, you can experience multiple cuisines from various places. As an Indian, I have not found any difficulty finding Indian restaurants in Toronto.
Dislikes (Value for money): As you may already know, the Government of Canada has recently changed its policy, and it will no longer provide a post-graduate work permit to students from public-private colleges. This means students from Loyalist college will not be eligible to get PG work permit upon graduation (This only applies to student who are planning to enroll in to public-private college in September 2024 and afterwards intake). Furthermore, I will not recommend this college to new students for various reasons, such as an outdated course structure, a lack of practical work, and a less-than-ideal reputation of college among top employers in Canada. On a positive note, the training and placement department provides full guidance on how to prepare for the Canadian job market. They conduct mock interviews to offer actual work experience and make efforts to bring multiple employers to the college's job fair.

It's a good college but not a large campus
Tips: This college is outside Toronto. Although it's in ttc you can afford to live in Markham. It's a good place and you can find work as well as good accommodation. You have to look around for more work and for good part-time jobs. No part time jobs are available on campus here though so don't be disheartened.
Likes (Part time work): It's very hard to find work over here because of the recession. Too many students are here and over 24 hours of work per week has made it difficult to work. You can try on LinkedIn and other social platforms to earn money.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is good, they are helpful and ready to help you any time without a second thought. You can consider to come here. They share PPT at the same time of the lecture. However, they need to put the lecture on moodle a week or two weeks before so that it's easy for students to learn.
