Good work opportunities and community.
Tips: You can join Indian clubs like Umang and Tamil clubs and international student clubs like Uvic Global Community to meet other international students who are in the same boat as you. Join new activities, events, and clubs. Join a gym or fitness class. In your first semester, don't be afraid to say hi to the person in front of you in the cafeteria. The more you put yourself out there, the easier it is to make friends. And once you make good friends, it will start to feel like home. I am very satisfied with my university and country.
Likes (Safety): Victoria is a very safe city. My friends and I have never had any major issues, even as women. You can walk around the city even at 2-3 AM if you need to without any issues. Just avoid walking around by yourself in the downtown area too late at night, as many homeless people live there and you may get mobbed. But if you need to go late at night, just go with friends you trust. Overall, it is the safest city I have ever been to.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I have not heard of any companies offering sponsor visas for work for Uvic graduates. As it is a mid-tired university, big companies do tend to prefer alumni from bigger universities than Uvic students. I am studying B.Com so I have seen many roles related to finance, accounting, marketing and HR. Beginner salary is usually around $49-60k.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science - Batch of 2025
4.3
Overall it provides wholesome experience of North American Culture.
Tips: UVic offers a strong global comm department whose main goal is to make the students transitioning into Victoria easier. Helps to ease out with cultural shift. Scholarships options are available on merit. Weather is fantastic year round and be prepared for rain.
Likes (Internships): For Engineering and Computer Science, UVic offers a very strong co-op programme. These jobs are offered across Canada. Each department has its own co-op department which provides industry-specific guidance to students. There are all resources available, one just has to look and ask for help!
Dislikes (Student Life): Being in for 4 years, most of my time is spent completing school work and working on projects. There are some really good options/facilities available on campus. Giving 3 stars as Vic doesn't have any for someone looking for social events outside campus, they might not enjoy it.

Not satisfied with student life and faculty.
Tips: Be prepared to work hard if your course is a hard one. Life abroad is full of obstacles and hurdles, especially if you are an international student. You will have to go the extra mile to cope with the course. Please be prepared if you are coming to Canada because the weather is harsh and it is too cold.

Average experience so far
Tips: Canada is culturally diverse so it wasn't very hard to fit in. I am not so satisfied with my college experience. I would suggest students search themselves for better colleges. And prefer to take admission to universities instead.

I think it is a perfect balance of fun and rigidity.
Tips: They are very strict when it comes to your assignments especially when it comes to academic integrity. You get 3 breaches all throughout your course and if you get all of them you are kicked out of the college. So just stay away from any sites that could possibly get you into such trouble
Likes (Internships): The placements given by college are really amazing. Because I have seen all the placement sites and all of them are very high end. All the people under whom we'd be working were genuinely very nice and understanding. The places with which our college has collaborated are amazing.
Dislikes (Part time work): I have been here for 2 months and I have yet not found a job even though I have applied everywhere. It is very difficult to find jobs because even though you would have applied everywhere the chances of getting a part time job would be very thin.

Sheridan College provides practical with solid support.
Tips: After living in Canada for some time, I have experienced a lot of cultural shift because we left our country and moved to another. There are many cultural differences between our home country and Canada. I received a merit-based scholarship, submitted transcripts, a personal statement, and recommendations. I am satisfied with the course, the supportive environment, and the welcoming Canadian culture.
Likes (Part time work): There are numerous on-campus opportunities for part-time work, such as library assistant, research assistant, and student services roles. These jobs are relatively easy to get and offer a convenient option for students. Off-campus students can find jobs in retail, hospitality, and as tutors. Balancing part-time work with academics is generally manageable because the college supports students with resources to help them manage both. On average, students can earn between 14 and 18 Dollars per hour.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I rated 3 stars for permanent immigration because of the current challenging conditions for students in Canada. The process has become increasingly uncertain and affecting its for securing permanent settlement. My chances of permanent settlement seem good but it is difficult for other students, the hurdles have increased for them. Given a chance, yes, I would like to permanently stay in Canada.
