Duolingo English Test (DET) Fee in India 2025
There are two ways to take the DET. You can either purchase one test or buy a test bundle, which lets you attempt two tests one after another after a short break. The Duolingo English Test fee, i.e. the fee for one single test is USD 55 (INR 4,667 as of December 2024). The other alternative is to purchase a test bundle in which the test takers can take two tests and send the best score to the selected institutions. This test bundle is for those who wish to save money as the same is available for a discounted price of $47 each (INR 3,988 as of January 2025). This indicated that one needs to pay $94 (INR 7,976) in total for both tests.
Once you’ve bought the bundle, you will have to appear for the first test within 21 days. After you’ve got your first test result, you can attempt your second test again within another 21 days. NO REFUND will be made for the test bundle purchases.
DET Result Fee
Those who wish to obtain their results within 12 hours of appearing for the test can buy the DET Faster test, by paying an additional $33 (INR 2,800 as of December 2024) Payment: You can make the payment either through a debit or a credit card.
DET Credit Policy
A test taker obtains one single credit as soon as he/she buys a single Duolingo English Test. On buying a DET bundle, two credits will be provided to you. One can attempt this test only through this credit. One certified result may be obtained per credit. Keep in mind that buying a DET won’t assure a certified result. Three chances are given for utilizing the credit to attempt and upload the test. As soon as you start the test, it will be considered an attempt.
DET Cancellation Fees
A test taker can cancel or reschedule the Duolingo English Test (DET) anytime they want. Although you don’t have to pay any fee for cancelling the test, the money you paid earlier won’t be refunded. Also, a candidate has a total of 21 days to attempt the test. In case of his inability to do so, his test will get cancelled automatically.

DET Rescheduling Fees
After a test taker has made a payment for the Duolingo English Test, he/she will have to take it within 21 days. In between this duration, if one wishes to reschedule his/her test due to any reason, the same can be done without paying anything. If he/she fails to do so, as mentioned above, his test will then stand cancelled and booking will again have to be done from scratch.
Terms and Conditions for Refund
In case a test taker faces issues during the test or is unable to obtain the result within a commercially rational time frame once the test is done, Duolingo will assist you with the same. As per its convenience, Duolingo will either refund your money or provide you a credit for the same. It may also try to solve the prevailing issue related to the test. If you think you deserve a refund due to the test issue, you will be required to state the problem in writing to Duolingo within 24 hours of the occurrence of the same. Make sure that you provide any detail that Duolingo requires and are not accountable for the test issue. The amount of refund you would obtain won’t be greater than the real amount you paid for the exam.
