Students willing to study in France can now directly apply to the French institutions of their choice through the “Études en France" procedure. The applications for the France intakes 2025 opened on October 01, 2024.

The applications for the intakes in France 2025 were dropped on October 1, 2024. All non-EU students interested in higher education in France must apply via the "Demande d'Admission Préalable (DAP)" which translates to "Preliminary Admission Request". This step in the “Études en France" procedure is mandatory for non-EU students willing to enrol for the 1st year of undergraduate studies in France and acts as a pre-registration to gain admission to a French university.

What are the January and September Intakes in France?
The January intake in France is also known as the “Spring intake” and similarly, the September intake is also known as the “Fall intake”. Let us understand the key points about both these intakes below.

How to Apply to French Universities?
Indian students are affected by the “Études en France" procedure and so must make a request to enrol at French higher education institutions. The complete application process to the universities in France can be solely managed on the Études en France platform up until the visa request.
Alternatively, students can also enrol by visiting a Campus France office in their country. However, this is a paid service.
Students can apply to 3 universities altogether through one Études en France application.
Here are some essential points on what you need to do to apply to a university in France through the EEF procedure:
- Open a personal account on the EEF portal.
- Submit an application online to your preferred colleges/universities and even get admission assistance from a Campus France office nearest to your city.
- Your application will then be reviewed by a Campus France advisor/manager closest to you and based on your application, you will be invited for an interview either online or at the nearest Campus France office in your country.
- On successful completion of the interview, your documents will be verified (copies against the original documents) and returned to you. At this time, your Campus France advisor will also provide you with the interview completion certificate.
- You start receiving responses from the universities you’ve applied to after your Campus France manager validates your profile.
- You can start your France visa application process soon after receiving an acceptance letter from a university of your choice.

What is EEF Application Fee for Indian Students?
The "Etudes en France" fees for the 2025 France admissions intakes have been recently increased. Effective from 1st October 2024, the current Campus France application processing fee is INR 18,500.
Students must note that they will be asked to pay the EEF procedure fee only after their application gets validated by their Campus France manager. Upon failing to complete the application, submitting documents and getting your application validated on time, you may have to pay an increased fee.
