Commonly asked questions
On Universities and Colleges in Japan - Courses, Fees, Scholarships, Admission Requirements & Grades

Q:   How do I apply for scholarships in Japan?

A:

As for scholarship applications in Japan, here is how you can do it: There are several steps that one must follow in applying for scholarship forms under the Japanese Government (MEXT).

Candidates check the eligibility requirement, which mostly involves things like good academic standing, knowledge of the Japanese language, and some other criteria regarding age and health. Additional requirements include submissions of application forms, grades, letters of recommendation, and evidence of a language proficiency certification or admission qualification.

The selection procedure may include written tests and interviews, mostly conducted at the Japanese embassy of the applicant's home country. Selected students receive an award that covers tuition fees, living expenses, and travel allowances.

Q:   How can I get admission in Tokyo University?

A:

Tokyo University is very selective and highly competitive for any course so candidates need to score very high in academics and must have extra curriculars to show as part of their profile. Along with that, students must fulfill the basic eligibility requirements set by the university. Students must submit some required documents including college/university transcripts, recommendations, resumes, video and timed writing reflection, and TOEFL/IELTS scores.
