Study Abroad: Apply for Summer Internship In Korea At KAIST Advanced Institute For Science-X

The last date to apply for the summer internship at KAIST Advanced Institute For Science-X is February 5, 2025.

KAIST Advanced Institute For Science-X in Korea is offering summer internship opportunities to international students in subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Medical Science, and Brain & Cognitive Science. The application deadline for the summer internship is February 5, 2025.

The internship is of seven weeks duration from July 1 to August 16, 2025. To apply for the internship, interested candidates can send an email to KAI-X (kai-x_internship@kaist.ac.kr).

“If chosen, you will be allocated to one laboratory from the three preferences you have indicated, where you will engage in research activities throughout the internship period. Individual notifications regarding the selection outcome will be conveyed by March 31, 2025,” says the official statement.

Eligibility Criteria, Documents Required For Summer Internship At KAIST

The applications are open for international undergraduate students in the third or fourth year and graduate students who are pursuing master's courses in the field of natural science including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Medical Science, Brain & Cognitive Science, and Biology.

The documents needed for applying to the summer internship are - an application form, proof of enrollment, an essay (activity plan), a letter of recommendation, and an official transcript.

“The permissible support encompasses the actual expenses for round-trip airfare, with a maximum limit of 1 million KRW, and dormitory costs, which should not exceed 500,000 KRW. Additionally, a living expense support of 500,000 KRW will be provided,” added the official statement.

KAIST Wins CES 2025 Innovation Awards

The Korean university has won Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) awards for its startups - Standard Energy Inc., VIRNECT Inc., Panmnesia, Inc., and A2US Inc. The university is all set to participate in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) and showcase innovative technologies.

Keon Jae Lee, the head of the Institute of Technology Value Creation, said, “Through CES 2025, we will showcase innovative technologies and solutions from startups based on KAIST’s deep science and deep tech, and lead commercialization in cutting-edge technology fields such as AI, robotics, mobility, and environment/energy. KAIST plans to further promote technology commercialization by supporting the growth and marketing of innovative startups through the Institute of Technology Value Creation and by strengthening global networks and expanding cooperation opportunities.”
