Five Students From University Of Michigan Travels To China In Summer 2023
These students were from the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University Of Michigan. They participated in the dance exchange program with China. During their visit, they spent 10 days performing learning, teaching and performing various dance techniques.
“Being fully immersed in a different culture was enlightening. I saw varied teaching styles and began incorporating them into my work back home. Without this trip, I would have taken much longer to adopt new perspectives in my teaching," said dance major Robert Farr-Jones.
“Through physical practice and observation, we immersed ourselves in a foreign arts culture and used movement to connect across language barriers,” said SMTD student Rileigh Goldsmith.
University Of Michigan's Study Explores How AI Can Be Used For Strategic Decisions
Felipe Csaszar, professor of strategy at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business conducted a new study to explore how AI can be used for making important strategic decisions.
"The primary consideration should be ensuring AI doesn’t harm people, which often means keeping humans in the loop until AI systems prove themselves significantly safer than human decision-makers. Beyond safety, companies should focus on how AI can help democratize access to services that are currently limited to a privileged few—for instance, using AI to provide personalized education that previously required expensive human tutors,” said the professor.
