The best thing about studying science during Undergraduate years abroad is that the choice of your subject doesn’t limit your career option. For example if you have majored in chemistry, you can still opt for masters in medicine as most of the post graduate medicine degrees require you to have a basic pre-med undergrad degree. Same holds true for many other courses as well. Undergraduate science degrees typically take three to four years of full time study to complete, whereas postgraduate science courses can take between one and three years of full time study.

1. Astronomy – Given the fact US and other counties have pioneered research in the field of astrophysics, it is obvious the subject of astronomy will have a huge amount of applicants. This subject deals with the observation and study of space and the physics of space. Career prospects in this field are research scientist, as well as other interesting careers such as computing, nuclear power or telecommunications.

2. Biomedicine – This stream of science deals with interlinked relations between biology and chemistry. Biomedicine helps you apply biology to medical science to develop modern health care techniques. If you study this subject, you could work in commercial sectors such as the pharmaceutical industry, or the food or water industries.

3. Geography - You could go on to a career as an Environmental consultant if you study Geography, which means working for private companies or governmental agencies to assess the environmental impact of industry or human activity.








4. Mathematics & Statistics - In a simple sense, it is the study of quantity and the analysis of data. Some level of mathematical understanding is required in every field of science. By majoring in maths, your work will be related to many fields and areas of sciences.







5. Medicine - Those who choose to study medical degrees will need a strong interest in the sciences, along with a passion for helping others. As well as attending seminars and lectures, you will have the opportunity to observe professional healthcare practitioners, and increasingly to start gaining practical experience yourself.
