4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is offered by the Eastern Michigan University . 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 14500. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take standardised examinations such as SAT. Eligibility

  • To initially qualify, students need to have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and 20 ACT or 1030 SAT (on 1600 scale)
  • Students must live in an on-campus community for each of the four years at a locked-in room and board rate of approximately $10,800 a year, which includes a standard double room and a standard meal plan
  • To remain eligible, students must enroll in 30 credits per academic year, maintain a 2.0 EMU GPA, and meet SAP.*
    • SAP = Satisfactory Academic Progress: Requires you to earn passing grades in a minimum of 67% of the credit hours you take. Grades of F, W, I, N, NC, or repeated classes are not "earned."
  • The benefits of the 4WARD scholarship are not extended into the summer semester

  • Documents required:
    • Official transcripts: Submit  official high school/secondary transcript with English translation (students cannot do their own translations) in an official, school-sealed envelope

    • Submit copies of passport and United States VISAs to the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)
  • Application Process:
    • Apply for admission to Eastern Michigan University. University has already waived the $35 application fee for international students
    • If the students meet the GPA criteria, then they will receive a 4WARD Graduation Scholarship award email in their admit packet. Follow the steps in that email to opt into the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship
    • Students will receive a financial aid award letter via email

Additional Information

  • The 4WARD Graduation Scholarship is a fall-start only scholarship and it does not cover summer classes
  • It is an award for eight consecutive semesters. If students drop out for a semester or two, the scholarship will no longer available
