    • be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status or an international student;
    • be enrolled as a graduate student or a postdoctoral fellow in sociology at the School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies; and
    • be conducting research activities as part of their program or fellowship

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Graduate students: Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through the uoZone portal. They should include:
    • a summary from the applicant (max. 500 words) of research activities, including expenses incurred or expected; 
    • a budget indicating and justifying the expenditures required for the project (max. 1 page); and 
    • proof of the incurred or expected expenses, as detailed in the summary (fieldwork expenses, fees related to organizing or participating in a conference, etc.)
  • Recipients must submit an activity report of no more than one page explaining how the funds were spent and how these expenses actually advanced their research (by the end of the fiscal year, that is, May 1 of the following year)
