Scholarship Overview

AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is offered by the American University. This scholarship is for pursuing a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree, The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is given yearly to any number of students depending upon the university. Scholarship amount is decided by the university which will be used to waive the tuition fee for the student. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must have taken the 12th grade. Students from abroad must take English proficiency exams like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE in order to be eligible for this award.

Eligibility

• Applicants must have passed high school 
• Applicants should completed at least 16 college preparatory secondary school units i.e english, mathematics, laboratory science, social science and foreign language. 
• Applicants must be applying for an undergraduate program at the university
• This scholarship is renewable for all four years of study based on successful continued academic performance.
• Applicants must have achieved minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent out of 4.0 GPA (or in the top 10% of graduating class) for 9th-12th grades.

Application Process for this scholarship

• Submit acadamic transcripts
• Proof of english language proficiency 
• Copy of bank statement

How to apply: 

• Complete the online AU EGLS application; 
• Submit a bank letter and the AU Certification of Finances (AU CFIS) form - each demonstrating a minimum of U.S.$4,000. These can be uploaded via your Future Eagle Portal or sent by fax to +1-202-885-1025
• Complete and submit the Common Application or Coalition Application, together with all supporting documents per checklist
• Zoom interviews and additional essay submissions will be required for AU EGL semi-finalists and finalists.
• The AU EGLS selection process is most competitive. Priority consideration will be given to those AU EGLS applicants who apply and complete the AU EGLS application, Common Application, and international admissions document submission process
