BU Music scholarships is offered by the Bournemouth University . BU Music scholarships is awarded to Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is GBP 600. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like IELTS.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate that you are a talented musician or vocalist and that you have been involved in ensemble activity
  • Applicants will be expected to contribute to musical life at the university by performing in concerts and participating in at least one university ensemble
  • For the award, applicants will need to have reached Grade 8 of the Associated Board, Trinity or LCM, or equivalent, in their main instrument or voice. In addition, they need to show they have an academic grounding in music, and have passed A-level (C or above) in the subject or have obtained Grade 8 theory. In exceptional circumstances, and depending on the availability of funds, we may consider applications from those with ABRSM/Trinity Grade 6 or above

Application Process for this scholarship

    • Referees can include your Director of Music, music teacher, instrumental/vocal coach, ensemble conductor, etc, or any other person qualified to write about your musical abilities
    • They need to complete and submit the online reference form
  • Application process:
    • In the application, students need to demonstrate how they wish to develop musically, as well as academically. If they are shortlisted, they’ll be invited for an audition and will find out whether they’ve won a scholarship within two weeks
