Eligibility

  • Eligibility criteria - January 2025 intake
    • Conditional offer holders
      • Applicants must submit their application to the University by 7 January 2025
      • Applicants must accept their offer and pay their deposit by 7 January 2025 unless their deposit deadline is after this date, in which case, their deposit must be paid by their initial deposit deadline and their offer accepted within 14 days of it being made.
      • Applicants must meet all the offer conditions, including any English Language conditions as stated in their offer by 7 January 2025.
      • Applicants who do not meet the conditions of their offer will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.
    • Unconditional Offer Holders
      • Applicants must submit their application to the University by 7 January 2025
      • Applicants must accept their offer and pay their deposit by 7 January 2025 (unless their deposit deadline is after this date, in which case, their deposit must be paid by their initial deposit deadline and their offer accepted within 14 days of it being made.
      • Applicants must meet the original admissions criteria for their programme. Applicants who do not meet the original admissions criteria will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.

Additional Information

  • The Cardiff University £5,000 India Scholarship is a £5,000 award applied to the first year of study only.
  • Scholarships of £5,000 will be awarded to students from India when defined as being domiciled in India in the course application.
  • The Cardiff University £5,000 India Scholarship is for entry into Cardiff University in January 2025 only and cannot be used for 2025/2026 entry or any other year of entry.
  • Applicants who are in receipt of any other scholarship, bursary, funding or discount will not be eligible for this Scholarship.
  • The Cardiff University £5,000 India Scholarship is only available to self-funded students.
  • If students are in receipt of funding (consisting of either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external body which will be invoiced by the University for fees (such as Government, charity or a private organisation) they are not eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship. Students in receipt of educational loans are eligible for the award.
  • The Cardiff University £5,000 India Scholarship is not available for students who are coming to study at Cardiff University for a semester or full year as part of a degree at another institution.
