Scholarship Overview

Cecelia Eichenberg Memorial Scholarship is applicable to only Bachelors,Masters only. This is a merit-based as well as need-based Scholarship. Cecelia Eichenberg Memorial Scholarship award up to USD 1000 each year to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship 4 each year. All international students irrespective of their countries can apply for a Cecelia Eichenberg Memorial Scholarship. Students who want to be considered for Cecelia Eichenberg Memorial Scholarship from University of Houston are required to submit the following documents: LOR, Essay and Financial Documents.

• Award recipients will be granted a total of $1000 for the 2023-2024 academic year ($500 awarded for the fall semester/ $500 awarded for the spring semester)

Eligibility

• Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in international educational activities
• Undergraduate applicants must hold at least a Junior standing and must have completed  Undergraduates must also be planning to take 12 hours in the Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024. Graduate students must meet the same requirement except they must complete 9 hours in all the semesters noted above
• These minimum credit-hours must be taken at the University of Houston. Concurrent enrollment at another institution does not count toward the full-time hours. For international students, permission by International Student and Scholar Services to drop below hours does not equal full-time status for scholarship purposes. The only exception is students approved for the federally authorized Special Student Relief Program
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
• All undergraduate applicants must have and maintain at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA and all graduate applicants must have and maintain at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA
• Scholarship recipients will also be eligible to receive in-state tuition

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Priority will be given to students who do not currently hold other scholarships or a tuition waiver
