• Chico State Global Citizen Award is awarded to well-qualified degree seeking international students on an F-1 visa
• The two primary purposes of the award are to promote and develop intercultural competency as well as lower financial barriers students may face to achieve their educational goals away from home

Eligibility

• Applicants must:-
  • Be a well-qualified degree seeking international students on an F-1 visa
  • Be a pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree at CSU, Chico
  • Have full-time enrollment at CSU, Chico or at a CSU, Chico approved Study Abroad program
  • Have 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA

Application Process for this scholarship

• Personal statement:- Please submit a typed response on a separate page to each of the questions below. Please be brief; no more than 200 words per question.
  • Please describe your personal background, academic goals and future career plans.
  • What are your goals associated with the Chico State Study Abroad or the CSU, Chico degree program? How will this program/experience impact you academically, personally, and professionally?
  • What extracurricular activities do you intend to participate in while abroad, outside of coursework and studying?
  • What impact will this award have on your ability to accomplish your goals and become a more global citizen?
• Letter of Recommendation:-
  • Please submit a letter of recommendation from a CSU, Chico faculty member. If you are newly admitted, please include a faculty letter of recommendation from your most recent previous school
• A current Financial Aid Award Letter (if a recipient of US government or California aid)
