Scholarship Overview

Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme is awarded for pursuing MSc Africa and International Development,MSc International Development at The University of Edinburgh. A student can get a maximum amount of GBP 38896 and the scholarship amount will be given one time only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition, living, travel and airfare. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as IELTS and PTE. Students will require the following documentation to apply for the scholarship: LOR.

• The award will cover: (i) All tuition fees; (ii) Airfare to and from the United Kingdom; (iii) Expenses for accommodation and maintenance
• Payments for the academic year 2022-2023 are set at £1,236 per month for the programme of study

Eligibility

Applicant:

• must be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
• must be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country;
• must be available to start the academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September and have applied for admission
• must hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard
• must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement by the University-
  • IELTS- overall 7 with at least 6.0 in each component
  • PTE- overall 70 with at least 59 in each component
• must not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a developed country
• must be unable to pay themselves or through their families for the study
