• University of ottawa offers Community Health Scholarship
• Thanks to the collaboration of several francophone professors, the manual ‘Pratiques en santé communautaire', written under the direction of Gisèle Carroll, is now available for students taking undergraduate courses in this field. It was agreed with the publisher Chenelière Éducation that the royalties received for the sales of the book would be given to Gisèle Carroll. G. Carroll pledges to use these royalties to create a scholarship for community health studies.
• The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who wish to complete masters or doctoral studies in the field of community health

Eligibility

• The applicant must:
  • be registered in the master's or doctoral program in nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences;
  • be a francophone OR an international student from a developing country; 
  • choose a theme related to community health (including population health/health key determinants) as the subject of his/her memoir or doctoral thesis; and
  • demonstrate an interest in community health

Application Process for this scholarship

• Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through the uoZone portal, and should include:
  • a letter (max. 500 words) written by the applicant and detailing his/her memoir or doctoral thesis project and his/her interest in community health
