Scholarship Overview

Concordia International Scholars are awarded by the Concordia University, which supports students in its academics and research pursuits. Concordia International Scholars includes a yearly award , which can be used for the purpose of tuition,accommodation payment only. The scholarship does not include other expenses such as accommodation, living expenses, travel expenses, etc. Concordia University usually looks for candidates with a holistic profile, and not just academic excellence. This scholarship is available to students from all countries. As for the academic eligibility criteria, candidates are expected to have 12th that can prove an academically excellent background. Students also need to appear for the following exams: also they need appear for the following exam TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.

Eligibility

Qualifcation requirements:

  • Applicants must have passed high school 
  • Applicants must hold Higher School Certificate or Intermediate Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate or Indian School Certificate or All India Senior School Certificate or
    Pre-University Certificate
  • Applicants must meet program specific requirements 
  • English language requirements i.e TOEFL overall score 90 or higher, with a minimum combined score of 34 for speaking and writing. IELTS score of 7 or higher, no component score under 5.5 and PTE overall PTE academic score of 61 with a minimum of 46 in speaking and writing
  • Applicants must be applying to university for the first time, in their first undergraduate degree program (have no prior university credits)
  • Applicants will be studying full-time in a degree program
  • Must be an international students who will be paying the full international tuition and fee rate
  • Have applied for admission, paid the application fee, and obtained a Concordia student ID number (an 8-digit number, beginning with the number 4)

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Proof of english language skills 
  • Students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship early as the scholarship is very competitive.
  • In order to apply, applicants must complete the application package and upload it to your student portal. The package must be a single PDF file including the following:
    • The Student Application Form
    • Your current curriculum vitae that outlines all work, volunteer experience, accolades, cultural, and other accomplishments.
    • A 750 word limit personal statement where you express how you have shown resilience and overcome personal hardship while maintaining an outstanding academic performance.
    • File name: LastName_FirstName_StudentID# (Example: Doe_John_12345678)
  • After uploading your application package, in order to make sure that your application has been received, you must inform us of your application by sending an email to fundingyoureducation@concordia.ca
  • Put your student ID number followed by “International Scholars Award Application” in the subject of your email.
  • Upload Process- 
    • Sign in to your Student Center.
    • Select Upload Document.
    • Select International Scholars from the Select Document Type dropdown menu.
    • Enter “International Scholars” in the Custom Description box.
    • Attach your application package (single PDF document).
  • Selection Process- 
    • Applicants will receive a confirmation of receipt by the Financial Aid and Awards Office 
    • Application package will then be presented to Concordia’s Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee for review.
    • The committee’s decisions will be communicated to students via email at the end of April.
    • Students who were not selected for the scholarship will be contacted and provided with other resources that they may explore.

Scholarship Application

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
