Scholarship Overview

• The International Peace Research Association Foundation invites applications for the Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship in Peace and Development Studies for Women from countries in the Global South
• Dorothy Senesh was a long-time activist for international peace and justice. Her husband, Lawrence Senesh, established this fellowship following her death in 1989
• The first award was made at the IPRA 25th Anniversary conference, July 1990, in Groningen, Netherlands, and has been made biennially ever since
• The Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship provides two biennial fellowships awarded to two women from the developing world for studies in the field of peace.  Larry Senesh (now deceased), a professor of Economics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, established this Fellowship in memory of his wife

• It offers $5,000 per year for two years for both women, for a total of $10,000 each

• Applicants:
  
  • must have completed  Bachelor’s degree 
  • have been accepted into a graduate program whose objectives are related to the objectives of the IPRA Foundation
• The scholarship is awarded to students who need it, therefore those with sufficient sources of funding will not be considered
