Scholarship Overview

Douglas T. Wright Award is a type of scholarship which is offered at University of Waterloo to those international students who are pursuing a Bachelors Degree. This is a Merit Based Scholarship, which is provided to only 3 students. Douglas T. Wright Award are valued at CAD 1500 for 3 students who qualify from University of Waterloo. Also, the Douglas T. Wright Award is a one time tuition reducing scholarship, offered in the first year of Bachelors Degree only. Applications for Douglas T. Wright Award at University of Waterloo are filed separately. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. In order to apply for the scholarship, students need the following documents: CV and Extra Curricular Activities. Along with the Douglas T. Wright Award application. The eligibility of the students to qualify for Douglas T. Wright Award would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to University of Waterloo Bachelors Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards University of Waterloo community and of course the academic achievements.

Eligibility

• Applicant must have participated in a University of Waterloo international co-op work placement
• Applicant should have achieved a work-term evaluation of "outstanding” for the international co-op work placement
• Applicant must demostrate leadership qualities through extracurricular activities while on the work placement

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Preference will be given to students travelling to an unfamiliar country where they will experience a different culture
• Preference to students receiving low salary/compensation while abroad
