Durham University Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport, Music and the Arts is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is GBP 2000. . Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. Applicant must be able to demonstrate an exceptional level of excellence in Music, Arts, or Sports for example participation in sporting or musical events at a national or international level. Applicants will also be required to play an active part in Durham University's sporting, musical, and performing communities
Applicants' performance level, personal statement, and references will be considered by a panel of senior members of the University with significant expertise in the area of Sport, Music, and the Arts
Sports coaches and colleagues with musical and drama experience may also be consulted

A Letter of Recommendation on letter headed paper of no more than 1,000 words from a suitable adult e.g. a teacher at applicants' school, a coach, the conductor of an ensemble in which they play, the director of a production in which they have been involved; explaining why the applicant is suitable to be awarded a Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship for sport, music, or the arts

if applicants are applying for a Music Scholarship please provide a youtube link to 2 different pieces of music of approximately 3 minutes in length
