Eligibility

  • To be eligible for a scholarship applicants must: 

    • apply for a University of Southampton course before you apply for the scholarship
    • have a course offer before the scholarship closing date
    • be an international student 
    • pay overseas tuition fees

     

  • Applicants must not be in receipt of any external scholarship, more than or equal to your tuition fees

  • Applicants must not be in receipt of any external scholarship

  • For India-
    • Undergraduate entry requirements
      • To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:
        • Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12, achieving at least 75% from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and Metro State Boards (Delhi, Maharashtra, Chennai, Kolkata and Karnataka)

    • Postgraduate entry requirements

      • Bachelors degree awarded by a recognised University or an equivalent professional qualification approved by the University with an overall qualification of at least 60%

      • UK 1st degree equivalent: 55 - 70% depending on awarding institution

      • UK 2:1 degree equivalent: 55 - 65% depending on awarding institution

  • There are 3 stages to the shortlisting process. 
  • This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful.    
    • We check that you meet the eligibility criteria. 
    • We score your academic record and qualifications as stated on your UCAS or PGT application form. 
    • The panel will decide who gets the scholarships.  The panel will consider your supporting statement, alongside your academic achievements to date. 
    • We may also shortlist applicants from Least Developed Countries, Low Income or Lower Middle-Income countries. 
       
  • The decision of the scholarship panel is final. We do not offer feedback on our process

  • To get your scholarship, you must:  

    • meet all conditions attached to your offer 
    • enrol as a full-time student by the start date 
    • provide evidence of where you live and qualifications at enrolment 
    • pay all outstanding tuition fees by University deadlines, where needed 
    • not have more than one scholarship from the University of Southampton - if you are eligible for multiple scholarships, you will get the scholarship with the highest value 

  • The University of Southampton reserves the right to take back a scholarship award if:  

    • we find out that you are ineligible
    • you break the terms and conditions of the scholarship  
    • there is misrepresentation and fraud?in your application
    • your course is no longer available 
    • you do not pay all tuition fees by University payment deadlines  
    • the University disciplinary panel upholds a serious misconduct charge? 
    • you do not meet academic progression requirements?
