  • Eligibility
    • These scholarships are restricted to students who are assessed to pay overseas fees and are entirely self-funded*
      • *Students receiving a repayable loan to fund their studies will be considered as self-funded
    • Applicants must be studying on a progression link agreement at one of our Global Link institutions listed above to be considered for this award (excluding applicants on the UKT Law programmes with specific partner institutions for which we have a separate scholarship – please see Essex Law Global Partners Scholarship T&Cs for eligibility requirements)
    • Applicants must meet our standard conditional offer
    • CSCSE students are only eligible for the award with A in one graded component for 3+1 SQA Undergraduate entry in link agreement programme/s
    • The award cannot be held in conjunction with any other University of Essex scholarships
    • Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities

  • How to apply
    • If you meet all the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be considered for this award
    • Students don’t need to complete an application form
    • The University will assess thier eligibility based on thier country of domicile and fee status that they submit on their application for thier place at Essex
  • Payment arrangements
    • These scholarships will only be made available as a reduction on the tuition fee that is payable on registration at the University. Payment cannot be offset against a tuition fee deposit if one is required
    • If they intermit from their course, they may, at the discretion of the University, be entitled to a prorata payment of the remainder of their award on their return to study
  • Students who are not eligible The following students are NOT eligible for this scholarship regardless of meeting the above criteria:
    • University of Essex International College (UEIC) Pathway students
    • Applicants undertaking a degree that is normally delivered wholly online
    • Applicants awarded the scholarship who defer entry to following academic years will be ineligible to receive the award and will be considered in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry. University of Essex Page 8 of 8
    • Applicants who are fully or partly sponsored by their government or other external agency and are not required to make any repayments (this does not include VISA sponsorship)
    • Applicants who are assessed as paying home tuition fees
    • Applicants who are awarded the Academic Excellence Senior Status Law Scholarship
    • Current students whose first year of undergraduate study at the University of Essex, was prior to academic year 2025-26.
    • Applicants studying the EWIE joint educational programme
