Essex Preparation Programme Bursary is offered by the University of Essex to international students. Essex Preparation Programme Bursary is available for students from all countries who want to study Bachelors Degree in the UK at the University of Essex. Every year, the university selects a certain number of candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is GBP 250 at University of Essex. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Official transcripts
  • Proof of english language proficiency scores
  • Personal statement is required with the following guidelines:
    • It should be written in English
    • Maximum limit is between 1,000 and 4,000 characters or a maximum of 47 lines of text (including spaces and blank lines) 
    • It is strongly recommended to write the statement using a word-processing package such as MS-Word and then paste it in the space provided
    • Use italics, bold or underlining in the personal statement is restricted
  • A written recommendation from a teacher, adviser or professional who knows the applicant academically

Application Process:

  • Students need to complete the Pre-arrival study skills courses. They must fully complete the course and receive the certificate of completion
  • Students will be automatically identified and be notified of the successful award via their Essex email as long as they meet the eligibility criteria listed above

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.

  • This bursary may be held in conjunction with other University awards
  • Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities
  • Students who are not eligible:-
    • Students undertaking a degree that is normally delivered wholly online (excluding FdA Therapeutic Communication and Therapeutic Organisations)
    • University of Essex International College students progressing from the International Year One
    • Students progressing from year 0 to year 1 of study in 2024-25
    • Students directly continuing from one course to another (for example from Foundation degree or HND on to the final year of an honours degree)
