Scholarship Overview

The Felix Scholarship for MBA is dedicated to Indian students who are looking to pursue MBA studies at the University of Oxford. Instated in 1991, the Felix Scholarship will cover 100% of course fees, a grant for living costs (around £17,800) and one return flight from India to the UK. Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. All Felix Scholarship applications should reach around December/January (Felix Scholarship deadline) and applicants can expect a decision to be made by the end of May. Candidates should note that unsuccessful applicants are not contacted individually due to sheer volume of applicants.  

The Felix Scholarship eligibility requires applicants to be a national of and ordinarily resident in India, have a first-class undergraduate or master's degree from an Indian university, the applicant must not hold a degree from a university outside of India and the applicant is expected to return to India after completing their studies. In order to apply for the Felix Scholarship candidates are required to submit their application for graduate study by the relevant December/January deadline for their MBA course. There is no separate application process. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a short questionnaire before being invited for Felix Scholarship interview in India as part of the scholarship application process.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be national and ordinarily resident in India
  • Applicants must have a first-class undergraduate or master's degree from an Indian university
  • Applicant must not hold a degree from a university outside of India (this rule does not apply to study undertaken whilst in receipt of a Felix Scholarship)
  • IELTS: 7.5 with a min score of 7.0 in each component
  • GMAT/ GRE: 
    • Candidates are recommended to apply with a GMAT score of 650 or above
    • Recommended score for Sub-sections Verbal score of160 and a quantitative score of 160 is considered competitive
  • Work Experience: Applicants should have at least two years of previous full-time work experience
  • Interview: Applicants who are shortlisted for the Indian scholarship may be asked to complete a short questionnaire before being invited for an interview in India. There is no interview for the non-Indian scholarship
  • Applicants with a full-time degree-level course of a minimum of nine months, at a recognized institution where teaching and assessment throughout the course is entirely in English and has been completed within 2 years of the start date of the course to which they are applying can be exempted from the English proficiency exam

  • One award is made each year to a non-Indian student who is a national and ordinarily resident in a country (outside of India) which categorised by the World Bank as being low income
  • In addition, for the non-Indian scholarship, the following eligibility criteria apply:
    • Applicant should have a first-class undergraduate or master's degree;
    • Applicants must not already hold a degree from a university outside of their home country (this rule does not apply to study undertaken whilst in receipt of a Felix Scholarship); and 
    • Applicants are expected to return to your home county after completing their studies
