Scholarship Overview

Global Excellence Scholarship is offered by the California State University, East Bay . Global Excellence Scholarship is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 11880. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship.   • A limited number of full non-resident tuition waiver awards (over $12,500 per year) for incoming Cal State East Bay first-year freshmen students who:

    • Are in F-1 status or plan to get an F-1 visa
    • Apply to and enroll at Cal State East Bay as a first-time freshman for Fall 2024
    • Have a minimum 3.3 grade of point average
    • Display exceptional scholastic ability and prior academic achievement (determined by high school record, standardized tests (SAT/ACT or AP), and essay)
    • Demonstrate Financial Need
    • Commit to enrolling in 15 units per semesterf

  • To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Have completed an application to CSU East Bay as a first- time freshman, with no transferrable university credit, for Fall 2023
    •  Display exceptional scholastic ability and prior academic achievement determined by high school or secondary school record, standardized tests (ACT/SAT/AP)
    •     GPA 3.3 or higher at the time of application 
    • Be an International student studying on F-1 student visa
    • Demonstrate financial need

  • Scholarship recipients will be required to read and sign the Global Excellence Scholarship information terms
  • This scholarship is granted on an academic year basis (fall and spring semesters) and is renewable for up to four years total. Recipients are required to maintain an eligible GPA and enrollment requirements to continue receiving the award in the second semester and beyond.
