Scholarship Overview

Global Scholars Award for Retention is offered by the Iowa State University . Global Scholars Award for Retention is awarded to Masters Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Need & Merit Based scholarship will be given on a semester basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 2000. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade.

• The scholarship is available for all UG and PG programs
• Students participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT)/Post-Completion Academic Training (AT) /Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP) are not eligible

Eligibility

• Applicants who have been at ISU in the current degree-seeking program for one full academic year and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible
• Applicants are required to be in F-1 or J-1 status
• Applicants cannot have an assistantship

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Preference will be given to students who
  • have demonstrated financial need
  • are employed on campus (not on assistantship) and involved in student activities

Application Process for this scholarship

Documents:

• Applicants are required to submit a letter explaining their financial need and how they will use the scholarship funds (500-word maximum)

Application Process:

• ISSO will send an e-mail each semester to students when they are able to apply for the ISSO scholarships (Fall: mid-September and Spring: mid-February). During the application submission timeframe, students may submit their scholarship application in Cystart
