Scholarship Overview

Global Scholars Award for Retention is a type of scholarship which is offered by the Iowa State University . Global Scholars Award for Retention is awarded to Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Need Based scholarship will be given on a semester basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 2000. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. Bachelor degree is required for applicants to be eligible for this scholarship.

  • Applicants who have been at ISU in current degree-seeking program for one full academic year and achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible

Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • Preference will be given to students who
    • have demonstrated financial need
    • are employed on campus (not on assistantship) and involved in student activities

Documents:

  • Applicants are required to submit a letter explaining their financial need and how they will use the scholarship funds (500-word maximum)

Application Process:

  • ISSO will send an e-mail each semester to students when they are able to apply for the ISSO scholarships (Fall: mid-September and Spring: mid-February). During the application submission timeframe, students may submit their scholarship application in Cystart.
